It just happened a minute ago. I am as surprised as you are. Been 8.6 for months. Wonder what happened.
Seeing people so excited that the rating went up even by 0.1 makes me think this drama is so worth it. I just started today and in the first episode I wasn't super interested but episode 2 onwards I am hooked. Hoping I can contribute to the ratings and give it a 9 or higher

I had this on my PTW list before but never got to it, thinking of watching it now. Has the script been changed…
It was always supposed to be 10 episodes

don’t worry about it people on the internet just don’t know how to disagree without being rude. It’s fine to have different opinions and it’s okay to share your perspective as long as no one is dragging other people but they don’t quite understand that. well I’m glad you’re enjoying the show despite those matters anyways :))

I think Xiao Pang is a common nickname in China I've seen it used in various shows before. And I understand the name can be iffy but also every "Xiao Pang" have the same comic relief role so I understand your annoyance with the character. Yeah I don't think it's something people should get this heated over lol, although I don't think it's that bad I don't blame you for not liking it, that's totally understandable. People just need to respectfully agree to disagree and move on.

Ahh then I might've missed him saying that but at the same time it is his game ID? But I can agree that the clumsy fat friend stereotype is annoying as many stereotypes are

I just want to add that they are only okay if used correctly, if people were to use those nicknames in an offensive manner then obviously that is not okay. But here between close friends, with a nickname he gave himself I don't think it is an issue

I like this drama a lot but it has so many problematic dialogues that turn me off so much.
Personally I don't see a problem since that is a nickname he himself embraces. Think of Fat Amy from Pitch Perfect, that's a movie targeted at a western audience (people are more sensitive to anything regarding weight in English speaking countries) and no one really had a problem with it because she asked people to call her that herself. I feel like if the person themselves embraces it then no one else should speak up for them, because although some people do it with good intentions it might make them think that they are supposed to be uncomfortable about something they are already comfortable with. I feel like people who embrace the "fatty" nicknames are great because it changes the mindset that being fat is a negative. Why should we even associate fat with ugly, it's just a descriptive term. So thinking of it as something negative is never going to help with the social progress for our healthy body image. Anyways as long as the person themselves is okay with it I don't see a problem.

JE's moves are too well coordinated and done in a timely way to be innocent. Sometime it's even creepy.
Right?! and the way that after all the red flags, he does ONE nice thing and makes us forget about all the bad until we notice it again. NB girl I feel for you.

I'm so glad to see the more positives comments compared to when it first started airing, I guess they finally captured the right audience. ANYWAYS it is an actual crime that they only release one episode a week. Also it's so frustrating that I want to like JE but ugh he is so cunning I wouldn't be surprised if everything is calculated. Like I can't tell if he's being genuine or if it's all part of his games ahhhh. But that means the director really did a good job on putting us in NB's shoes because it's exactly the way she thinks as well. I have not been more eager to see the second male lead in my drama watching life, when will he come (and possibly show NB the difference between love and intense attraction)

I can get nothing from SK's delivery of Jae-Won. Only the bits he shows to the world, but at this point, I don't…
So true, we really see everything in Nabi's perspective and I like that, because we also have the same concerns about him as Nabi does. It allows us to experience this together with her, and also gives them a chance to slowly unveil his character as we continue to debate with ourselves on whether or not this whole thing is a good idea.

For me he is toying with her for a reason related to himself and not to her...
Hmm that makes sense, his point of view is still very unknown, we all know he's a flirt uninterested in relationships and weirdly interested in butterflies and that is it. Would love to see how they unpack his character. I also clearly have not read the webtoon, so if anything is explained in there, I do not know of it

Honestly I don't even think she is THAT in love with him yet, or likes him THAT much. At this point, their relationship is just ~sexual tension~ she's been trying not to act upon those urges because like her friend said, she probably isn't the type to know how to "keep things casual" which is what he is all about. I don't know what about NaBi intrigues him so much though, like clearly he been paying more attention to her than others, was it because she was harder to get than the other girls? Anyways, with this little game she still doesn't know what their relationship actually is and its boundaries, guess we'll see how she handles things after opening 'Hell's Gate'

Why people care so much about ratings though? Just enjoy and have fun... let people rate wathever they feel like.…
Hmm I don't think people care about the ratings THAT much. It's just right now it's the same as when people insult something you like without giving it a chance you know. Like you don't actually care that they don't like it, just annoyed at people being unreasonable (again obviously a subjective opinion), because their opinion affects others who might genuinely want to give it a shot but choose not to because of bad reviews from people who may not understand what it is about. It's just a slight frustration for some people not necessarily something of major concern though

I really don't understand the low rating, especially when the story has just begun. Yes he is a walking red flag but THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT. The girl gets out of a toxic relationship just to be falling into a similar trap. But this time she can see it, she might still go through with it because she can't help herself with the attention he gives her, but out of it comes growth. I genuinely don't think they're trying to romanticise his character in a way that he should be something we look for in a guy, the fact that we all know he's a red flag is great because that is what they wanted for us to see. The female character is in a bit of low in her life, and now as the story progresses we'll get to see her growth through her experiences with this walking red flag. Also I speak as if I know everything, but this is truly just my opinion, I just don't think the rating should be this low. Maybe the show just hasn't found the right audience yet and too many people who expected a rom com started watching. We'll see, hopefully the drama doesn't disappoint but I think it is too early to judge.

Thing is, most people watching k-drama watch them for their cuteness, innocence, and fairytale-like quality. We…
I understand what you're saying but that's just telling me that this one is for a different audience. I don't think their intention was to cater towards the cutesy, fluffy romance at all, and if the typical drama watcher doesn't like it that's fine, but the audience who would enjoy a more realistic representation, especially a foreign audience, would definitely enjoy the drama. So I don't think that should be a cause for concern at all. Plus personally there are so many of those typical fluffy rom coms so it's nice to have something different, can you imagine if every movie in the world had same genres? so boring. If people just want the typical, they can always skip over this one if it's not for them, no one is forcing them to like this.

rightt? she was just such a refreshing person to watch. especially when i was watching ywy2, like those shows are usually intense and hard training and stuff but she made it such a joy to watch just by being herself. i’m so glad she stay true to herself even after gaining all this fame, she is very talented nothing but respect and love for her

I'm a bit biased since I watched Youth With You and loved Esther as a person, but I adore her pouty face even though many find it annoying, like that is legitimately her personality, I thought she was faking it in the beginning but she must SO TIRED if that was her fake personality all season long. Sometimes I feel the characters that she plays are more realistic than her own personality lmao, girl is just a real life cartoon character. Anyways, when I first saw the photos of them filming I was like "Esther and Ryan?!!" *instantly adds to watchlist* I watched an intense drama recently and this is the perfect show to just let me watch something light-hearted with two adorable lead actors.

This is me but the comments look so promising and I really like the MLs. I will be trying.
I actually haven't seen anything Jasper is in but of course I've seen Shen Yue's popular dramas, though she's not my favourite actress I will watch this show for her and based on the comments too haha
