as someone who has seen a lot of dating shows I have to say this is probably one of my favourites. They handled conflict really well, there was a lot of fluttering moments, and as much as I love the final couples can we also just talk about their friendship too, they were all so respectful, forgiving and open with each other and communicated pretty well. Even for the cast members who maybe didn't have much of a story, they were so pleasant to watch and not a single member is irrelevant to me, I love them all and hope they're living well and are still close to each other <33

On The First Frost Jul 7, 2023
Originally I wanted Victor Ma to be SY here too just for it to feel like they are in the same universe but after reading the novel, I actually support them choosing someone else that may be more fitting to play the Sang Yan of First Frost. HL SY is funny and loveable as the older brother who picks on but dotes on his cute little sister but FF SY is cold, seemingly unforgiving, and disinterested in his surroundings. FF itself has a very different vibe to HL as the story is not all fluff and cute moment. I just hope whoever gets picked does justice to the character and the story bc the themes for this are a lot darker and emotional than the dreamlike childhood crush becoming reality story of HL

I hope Lusi and Zheyuan will in this drama even if they're just a cameo🙄😂 Btw, does anyone know if sang…
they do! you can even tell where they are in the timeline of their story because they hint at it where sang yan's timeline overlaps sang zhi's

I have been in such a drama slump, like still watching dramas but not really having my heart in one. This has been a cure. Funnily enough I just watched summer strike just before this which has a very similar beginning except this drama is a very much a slice of life and less dramatic. The characters are all so real and the setting is so beautiful. I haven't watched Li Xian since go go squid came out and I love his character in this so much more, he really suits this role and Crystal is so beautiful, she looks so elegant and her character I love so much, she's just so mature and normal, by that I mean she is written like a real person rather than just a character on this tv show if that makes any sense. It's a slow drama but every episode has purpose, and even if not much happens I love that it feels like I'm part of the neighbourhood with a view into everyone's lives. It's so comforting and refreshing and just the perfect feel-good drama. I am only 17 episodes in and I think this might become one of my favourite slice of life that I've watched, I can't wait to see how the neighbourhood grows and how Hongdou heals

I get you, I've already dropped this once before but because of the comments decided to start again. I'm only…
lmao I dropped it for now too... I'll get back to it eventually. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying TLB though because I'm a major TLB enthusiast. It just hooks you from the first couple episodes and the plots and characters never stop developing and each arc is just so fun to go through. I loved following their journeys.

On Time and Him Are Just Right Jan 25, 2023
Honestly I started this drama as white noise while I crocheted assuming that I would not care at all but I was pleasantly surprised. The drama is nothing special, usual light and fluffy rom com but it was just so wholesome and I still somehow became attached to the characters. Maybe because it seemed very much like a slice of life with not much of a plot, it was just a really easy story to follow with cute characters as we watch all their relationships develop. I graduated high school during covid years so I unfortunately didn't get much of a chance to goof around in my senior years so watching this was somewhat healing. I was smiling every episode, It was really just such a sweet show nothing else to say.

yikes doesn't sound so good. I still haven't finished episode 5 lmao halfway through. I think I'll still give the story a chance. Honestly I did this to myself, I just finished rewatching 'The Long Ballad' so my plot standard is so high rn that the bland beginning is really throwing me off

I'm am struggling to get through this one I'm at episodes 13 and I can't even enjoy it
I get you, I've already dropped this once before but because of the comments decided to start again. I'm only on episode 5 and I'm so bored. but so many people say the plot gets better after the first 10 or so episodes and after watching the rest everyone thinks those first 10 episodes are actually so cute and blissful. So I have hope, I'm just trying to push through this first bit

I do not speak mandarin (so if anyone does correct me if I’m wrong) but have picked up a bit from watching cdramas.…
Ahh okay thanks for the correction!! I didn’t pay attention to the actual characters so I guess if they were writing it out you would’ve realised. So I guess spoken it would be harder to differentiate gender

Title Upcoming Summer Spoiler
I watched the movie yesterday and after these comments, I realized the whole hidden meaning of the movie :'D I'm…
I do not speak mandarin (so if anyone does correct me if I’m wrong) but have picked up a bit from watching cdramas. English uses clear gendered pronouns whereas mandarin does for written however as they sound the same it's hard to tell apart when spoken (thank you @Moch1Dreams for the correction). Translations sure are tricky when the right translation doesn't really even get the point across. I've seen quite a few people under here who are confused because of the subs so I thought I could try clear things up if anyone comes to the comments to clear their confusion :)

On All of Us Are Dead Feb 5, 2022
I do agree with both the hype and the hate this drama got. Because FFS THAT WAS FRUSTRATING, but at the same time I was like "Imagine watching your friends die one by one, those alive please keep going and survive." The show could've done with less emotional scenes but also less gore mania, I ended up skipping a lot of the show which is probably why I can say I liked it. if I didn't skip the repetitive and predictable scenes I'd probably find it quite boring. I do think the plot was quite interesting and I still wanted to watch each episode but I think a lot of scenes were unnecessary and skipped them so maybe 12 episodes was more than needed. There are a lot of frustrating decisions made by both the students and the military where we could find a better solution but for the sake of my personal enjoyment I chose to ignore that. In the end some of the characters grew on me so an 8.5/10 overall from me which is high considering I skipped a lot but I still enjoyed it in the end, also the high budget production definitely adds to my rating. I honestly would watch a season 2 if there is one, just to know about Namra's situation however if it's kids against the world with so many unnecessary deaths again I might get tired of it, hope to see something new if there's a next season

On She's Dating the Gangster Jan 17, 2022
I watched this purely bc it was super popular amongst the filos in my life last year and I remember seeing the scene where she goes "GANGSTER" soooo many times. So I've finally watched it and oh my god it was so much more than just a cheesy rom com I loved it. I really needed this heart-felt movie rn, first filo watch did not disappoint

Also a fellow L&R lover here haha... nothing hits as much as it did when I watched that show. But have you tried watching The Long Ballad? Because I watched that after L&R and also loved it just as much. It's angsty like L&R but in a different way, the plot was great and I even got so attached to some of the support roles. The cast was just amazing, I highly recommend

Title My Name
I thoroughly enjoyed this show. I actually didn't like nevertheless that much I. the end so I took a break from Han So Hee when I saw this drama come out, but finally decided to watch it and she really is an incredible actress, along side Park Hee Soon, they were an amazing duo. Ahn Bo Hyun's character is like a fan favourite, I only wished the best for him but I wasn't too emotionally attached to his character, the cast was still amazing. Soundtrack was great, not many songs but big impact and perfect. I've seen people say the plot got weaker and slightly random but since I binged it I didn't really pick up on much. I honestly like how Jiwoo was flawed right until the very end, and I'm honestly okay with the ending too. I'm not really satisfied, but I'm okay with it because I kinda get the feeling that we weren't supposed to be satisfied anyways, it was always supposed to be a painful story where no one is really happy so yeah I guess that's what we got, and they definitely executed that well. But yeah not my usual watch but definitely very interesting, entertaining and a great binge.
