Doesn't it all depend on how it's executed? I understand how one might think unreliable narration is a cop out,…
As you said, it depends on how it is executed and how the whole story plays out, but it doesn’t have to be obvious early on for it to make sense. I’m my opinion Mouse and Shutter Island are brilliant, memorable even years after. Was the answer obvious at the half-way point? No.
IMO there is still plenty of time for literally anything to happen. Why I feel like it would be a cheap out is because Mouse literally aired last year and it would feel like they’re trying to almost copy it because of how successful it was. This happens really often where similar things start popping up because the audience likes it and so certain tropes can become a trend, but I just think that this is one where it, for me, loses its charm if done like that. If Mouse was from maybe 3+ years ago, I probably wouldn’t be finding this an issue at all tbh.
I don’t really have an opinion as to who Big Mouse could be, because atp literally anyone is an option, but I really hope that it isn’t Changho. I feel like with some other shows I’ve watched, this unreliable narrator and the main character being the bad guy doesn’t feel like a plot twist anymore but a cheap out… But we still have half of the story left, so let’s see how it plays out!
Tell me to go away and I will be the most Critical reviewer of this drama
Hot take: saying something is messy/stupid/boring doesn’t make you a critical reviewer. With the points you mentioned, it sounds to me you just don’t like the plot of the drama. Which again, why are you watching it then?
if you're not open to feedback on your thoughts or a discussion, don't comment
If you say you don’t like the drama bc the plot is messy and you have to skip it, then yeah. This isn’t a romance drama with an empty plot. If you skip scenes, I don’t think you have a place to comment on the plot, because you’re missing parts of it. Anyone can provide criticism on a show, you’re not better than others. If you’re so hellbent on finishing it, then at least watch it properly or your comments will not be taken seriously.
If a drama makes me so bored that I can’t sit through it and have to skip scenes, then I will drop it. What’s the point? Just find something that piques your interest so you are happier.
I'm sorry but the cat analogy? Instead of acknowledging her "making people lonely" problem from the beginning…
Those are all valid points and I actually agree, but you did say “work to have her change a bit during the entire show, to create a working healthy relationship (with efforts to be made on her side)” earlier, which is what I took issue with.
I'm sorry but the cat analogy? Instead of acknowledging her "making people lonely" problem from the beginning…
Well I don’t really know what you expected either. You said you wanted Yeongwoo to work on herself and change things, to put more work in to make the relationship healthy. But what exactly did you want her to change about herself? In my eyes, she was doing her best as an autistic person in her first relationship. This conversation is difficult because honestly, most answers to that question will probably sound like you wish she masked her autism more for the sake of others. But, correct me if I’m wrong.
I'm sorry but the cat analogy? Instead of acknowledging her "making people lonely" problem from the beginning…
It wasn’t just “nah it’s fine” tho? She expressed her worries and he told her that he’s willing to continue the relationship because he likes spending time with her and likes HER even if there are some aspects to their relationship that aren’t all smooth-sailing.
Or idk maybe I’m just a dumb viewer who clearly lacks your expert level of critique 🤪
This might be the first drama I've seen where people ask /why/ one character fell for the other...
(I hope this is about YWxJH not MWxSY) Honestly, the questioning of why Junho likes Yeongwoo in this comments section gives me very icky vibes. Yeongwoo is pretty, intelligent, honest, passionate, endearing, and so much more. We saw that. Junho saw that. Why are some people undermining Junho’s feelings? Making comments about how she’s apparently childish and only talks about whales is so hurtful and it’s sad to see the whole point of the drama fly over some people’s heads… I currently can’t recall any other drama where any lead explicitly lists the reasons they like the other person. We’ve seen plenty of women fall for questionable men. Don’t all male leads fall for the female leads because they are pretty and they suddenly see them as women? But nobody questions that?
Sounds to me like some people just genuinely don’t understand how an autistic person could possibly be loved, even when so many good qualities are thrown in their face 🙄

Eh, as a fellow autist I found that comment very endearing. A bit funny, yeah, but people always use similies to illustrate their points, so I don't see anything wrong with this one. On the contrary, I feel like I thought of my cat and instantly understood what he meant lol
I feel like last week was some kind of weird blip and I will erase that from my memory. And without it, I think the show was incredible. Despite my worries, I think it wrapped everything up nicely, way better than I expected. If anyone felt discouraged by the negativity of the feedback last week, I would encourage you to watch it until the end. This week's episodes were my favourite.
Yeongwoo and Junho have a special spot in my heart as a couple. I don't know why people are saying the romance was bland. We didn't see much of it, obviously lots happened off-screen, but you cannot tell me that the short moments we saw were boring. My heart always felt warm or ached for one of them, and I love them as a couple.
They painted her like a desperate single woman, it hurts to watch 😩
Yeah… I thought she was a fresh female character who didn’t take any bs. Now they’re making her fall for the guy who slandered her friend on a work forum? Suyeon snap out of it!! This isn’t you!!!
There weren't any signs from her, on the contrary, she openly hated him, because she knew he was an ass even from…
Right, that’s what I thought.
I think I’m just still scrambling to understand where that change came from. Like, there must be something I missed! The writer can’t be that foolish, right? Right??? (But it seems like they can…)
I know we are all angry about this and don’t see much logic behind it, but I’m still asking in case I missed something someone else noticed… Were there ANY signs of Suyeon/Minwoo pairing aside from the fact that they work on the same team so it’s like the obvious route? Because iirc there was low-key rivalry between them, Suyeon always tried to pick Junho over Minwoo to do things with, Suyeon said he was sly and out for his own gain ever since university. Man lifted her suitcase and bought some flowers and suddenly Suyeon has a crush? They did her so dirty with this…
is the show not going to address how min woo legit tried to destroy wyw's career by sending that file? are they…
Absolutely baffling how everyone knew he wrote the anonymous post, with obvious bad intentions, and all he got was like two disapproving looks. If there are no consequences to him trying to get her fired by staging that whole thing with the documents and low-key striking a deal with Tae Sumi, I will be SO salty.
I'm genuinely curious and I don't have any intention to offend anyone. Just for how long people keep understanding…
It’s the way that you worded your question. What is it that you really want to know?
“Just for how long people keep understanding and give into everything that austistic person do?” Ideally, infinitely.
“So how it will be in real life.?” How will WHAT be? Autism is such a wide spectrum there is no one definite answer about how many or what kind of conflicts we face. As I said, it also depends on whether we are facing someone like Minwoo or Suyeon.
If that sounds negative to you then sorry not sorry, I am not here to coddle people.

Doesn’t change the fact that your question is ignorant.
Real life is the same. If you ever get to know someone autistic it’s your choice if you want to be a Minwoo, Suyeon, or Junho. Depending on what kind of people are around, there will be more or less conflicts, both with friendship or romance. This is the same for all people, no?
