The actress playing the Queen Mother is doing a great job of portraying her as a villain without being too exaggerated.

You must be one of the few that didn’t see any of the trailers or other promos for this drama. MDL lists the genre tags as Comedy, Romance, and Drama.

I thought that the Prime Minister would only become the Regent if Grand Prince Yi An didn’t get permission in advance to marry someone. The permission would have to come from a Council of Ministers which is lead by the Prime Minister.

BWS plays the character Grand Prince Yi An. His character’s name can also be spelled Lee Ahn.

The English subtitles on Disney+ spelled his last name as “I” and added a hyphen before his first name “AN” which is not correct. (If they didn’t add the hyphen people would read his name as IAN. That would be even worse. 😂)

I think they spelled his name based on how it sounds rather than using one of the two standard spellings of his name. The English subtitles on Disney+ are not very good so far.

It’s always too early to rate any drama after only 1 episode.

I got my info about the expected episode length from the KDRAMA subreddit.

Regardless of the length I feel the pacing of episode 1 was fine. It’s probably too early to tell anything definitive about the plot pace. Only time will tell.

I don’t want the plot to move forward too slowly only to cram everything into the last two episodes. I also don’t want the plot pace to be too fast in the early episodes only to die a slow death in the final episodes.

I’m surprised that so many people came here to 💩on this drama after only 1 episode. I hope they find some other new kdrama that instantaneously meets their expectations.

As for me, I’m willing to give Perfect Crown a fair chance. I enjoyed the first episode and feel that this drama will continue to get better and better with each new episode.

Each episode is 1.5 hours so it’s like a 18 episode kdrama that has the usual hour long episodes.

Only one episode has been released so far. Be patient. Give it a break or just drop it already.

7 million Netflix views for PoJ seems so small in comparison to the 3.3 Billion total views across Chinese platforms. Netflix isn’t as big as it pretends to be.

But I totally agree that PoJ is THE BEST OF THE BEST.

Will this be available in Korean with English subtitles? All the trailers I’ve seen are either in Korean with no subtitles available or they are dubbed into English. I feel that the dubbing into English reduces the strength of the actors performance.

That drama has a different target audience than Perfect Crown.

Prime Minister Wei Yan (played by actor Yan Yikuan) was the uncle of Xie Zheng (played by actor ZLH). They were related by blood because Wei Yan was the older brother of Xie Zheng’s mom.

I think Qiao Man’s greatest character development was that she learned to be loyal and work with her husband instead of plotting against him. She clearly was smarter than he was but she became loyal to him. It takes a certain inner strength in order to let go and trust someone else to make the decisions.

If you click on one of PoJ’s tags above called “physically strong female lead” it will take you to a list of cdramas, kdramas, and jdramas that feature similar strong types of FLs. Maybe some of the physically strong female leads in those dramas will satisfy your expectations.

You will notice POB is not on that list because the FL was never intended to be physically strong. She was highly intelligent and was loyal to her husband even though they started out in an arranged marriage. Youcan’t fault the FL character in POB for not conforming to your expectations when that’s not who she was ever supposed to be.

It means that Song Yan (wild geese) may be a big deal scholar in little Lin’an but going to a big city where many people are as highly qualified (phoenixes) he will be insignificant.
