let's all pray hard that this one would not be as bad as others korean-j-manga-adaptation. amen!
AGREED!! I am not even going to touch this with a ten-foot pole. After seeing what Korea did to Kimi wa Petto especially, I cannot even.

Loved the show! Who is the author of gu family book? Will there be a season 2? I really want to see more!!!!!!!!
I would totally watch another season of this drama, too!! I hope they do it again!

This drama is about to bring me out of my one year and three month review writing hiatus. I LOVE this drama!!! This drama and Good Doctor have reminded me why I love Korean dramas!

Thanks for the positive feedback! Secret was OK. I wouldn't shout about it from the rooftops by any means, but it was tolerable. It had strong characters and I love Ji Sung as an actor. What did you think?

Amrita!! How are you? I am finally feeling settled in Korea so I decided to take up a drama. So I popped on here and thought I'd say hi to you! :)

So far, the school system is not nearly as archaic as some dramas might have you believe. In fact, if we went by dramas alone, Korea would be a very warped and yet oddly exciting place. ha! Thankfully though it is pretty normal. I live in a city and haven't even seen any crazy displays of drunkenness yet! (I think I'm slightly disappointed about that one though). :)

I hope things are going well for you. I also thought about you because I was thinking of FINALLY trying to watch Reply 1997. But somehow I got sidetracked and started this drama called Good Doctor. I like the two male leads and the intense ER-style cliff-hangers, so it's a real nice welcome back drama for me! It's not the typical "romcom" with arrogant/rich guy + goofy girl.

Hey!! No worries, as you can see, I am giving you a late reply as well. lol! Life. :)

I actually bought a ticket to go the Asian Kung-Fu concert, but didn't end up going! The friend I was visiting lived waaaaaaay in the country-side near Manchester. Basically I didn't have the energy to take the trail all the way up to London again for the one night. So I passed. But it's cool because I've seen them in concert twice already. haha! Plus I am living in Korea now, so I can skip over to Japan and see them anytime! (^_^)v

Oooh! And speaking of reviews, you just taught me that there is a second season of Switch Girl! I never knew! I was so entertained by the first season, so this is a pleasant surprise. :) It's so random and silly, but it falls into my category of good drama junk food.

Everything you said about this drama Osozaki no Himawari sounds perfect! In the back of my mind, I was thinking I would love to watch a "slice-of-life" drama. Something simple, yet beautifully shot and endearing! I almost want to be reminded of my time spent in rural Japan. So I will absolutely be checking that out! Thanks so much lady! I knew I could count on you. :)

And yes, it's job related. I teach English as a second language. I lived in Japan for two years teaching (in a rural, adorable town with wonderful junior high students). Recently I went to Prague and taught and Korea is my next stop! I don't know how long I'll be there, but I'm looking forward to the experience.... Well, more than anything I'm looking forward to the food. haha!

I'll have to make it a point to read through some of those scathing reviews you wrote! I love your reviews in general, but those are best! :)

Rita!!! Hey! Aww, you flatter me tremendously. :) You know, I haven't been watching any dramas lately. I've been busy and travelling. I tried watching a drama and it was so stereotypical and predictable that I had to drop it. haha! I remember your recommendation to watch Reply 1997, though. As soon as things settle down for me again, I'm going to watch that one! I'm actually moving to South Korea in August, so maybe I can enjoy it in its country of origin!!

How are things with you? Been writing much? Any recommendations?

Oooh, nothing beats a good crime/mystery/cliffhanger drama! I am secretly hoping they will come out with a third season of Vampire Prosecutor sometime soon! That would be ideal. That series packs a really nice punch and the lead male is soooooo delicious. haha! But thanks for the recommendation! I'll let you know if I check it out!!

Prague is OK. I'll only be here for a little while longer. :( I actually don't like it very much, It's a pretty city, but something about the culture is not agreeing with me. It also rains here A LOT. It makes me feel all gloomy and depressed. haha! I'm going to England to stay with a friend in two more weeks, so I'm looking forward to that. England is gloomy too, but for some reason I really love England!

Hey!!! Yeah I haven't been on in a while. I've been taking classes and I'm doing a program in Prague (woo hoo)! :) so I've been kinds busy. I haven't even been keeping up with what dramas are hot now! I've only been watching xxxHolic when I have a bit of free time. What's good to watch these days? And how have you been?

HEY! Guess that!! Rumor has it that Asian Kung-Fu Generation is performing in London on May 31st. I am totally going to try to go, but I can't find any information on it outside of the rumor posted on facebook. Dude! Epic!! I want to try and make this concert #3!! You should look into it. They are A-Mazing in concert. No lie. :)

Bridal Mask was a very good drama! And yes, the ending scene was GREAT! Overall though, there was WAY too much crying in the drama--particularly on the part of Lee Kang To. Good Lord. Does a man need to cry so much!?!? I swear he cried at least three times in EVERY episode. Maybe more like four or five times as it got closer toward the end. hahaha! I have very low tolerance for tears in a drama. Just because you cry a lot, it doesn't make you a strong actor or denote a strong performance.

But the overall story was very well written and never got boring. And you know how I feel about dramas that are more than 16 episodes long. :) This drama made me eat those words.

Ahh, Nova Bossa is actually one of my favorite Clazziquai songs. I didn't know it was associated with a movie! I wonder if it *really* is, or if that was just some fan made stuff. Anyway, that song is from the Instant Pig album, and there are a ton of songs on that particular album that I adore. They all have that jazzy, sultry kind of feel. There's this song called Flower that is absolutely beautiful. Alex's voice is like butter and the meaning of the song is very pretty.

But yah, the world of Clazziquai is vast indeed. You can find hard-beat, techno driven songs like the one you listed (also try the song Ping, too, especially since you like Horan. I LOVE that song). And also smooth R&B influenced tracks (Chocolate Truffles is a really popular and nice song by them).

Hey! Glad you are liking it! Yeah, I think pretty highly of that drama and I've watched it multiple times. It's romantic and smart without being too conventional or cheesy. It doesn't fall into the usual drama cliches. :)

I watched the video for Clazziquai's new song! It was very quirky and retro. I liked the video more than the song, actually. The song was nice but not very impactful--like something you'd hear in the background of a coffee shop scene in a drama, you know? Something pleasant, but not so great that I'd pay particular attention to it. Ah well.

YES! I am watching Bridal Mask and I am loving it. My only complaint at episode 20 is all the damn crying Lee Kang To does. He cries at least twice in every episode. I'm real tired of all the tears. lol MAN UP!!! *beats chest* I mean really. :)

The ending was so dissapointing. I ended up hating the whole story except the first 3 episodes.
I couldn't agree more. This drama was so boring and slow. I almost wrote a review for it but decided not to. All the crazy "THIS IS THE BEST DRAMA EVAAR" fans will just mark it as "unhelpful" and defeat the purpose entirely. If they could mark THIS POST as unhelpful, they would!! lol! Irritates me to no end.

i just started watching this drama and i dont get why she hates the jade emperor so much? is he the bad guy?
He's the best thing in the whole boring drama!
