Title The Trunk Spoiler
Same reason I’m watching now! Jo I Geon is the man to watch! He needs many leading roles moving forward. those…
I have done something nerdy - do check it out if you like. I have literally made like a wall of fame for him in my bio, and also this Pin Board: https://pin.it/5ZpbHzoxR

Review Our Unwritten Seoul Spoiler
Yo! Professor-nim, I mean 7-8 not much of a difference at times. Dramas cannot be that objectively evaluated.…
that was my aim - and I am glad it worked. Back when I was making the MDL account, I wanted to choose an image that would do exactly that. And given this drama was recently watched, I chose Veronica. And glad I did - look at us, connecting because of it, and there have been many more earlier. I love this aspect - growing friendships because of such random instances!
On The Oath of Love Feb 15, 2026
Dear Gentle Reader - I need your help!

I've been on the fence about whether or not to watch "The Oath of Love". The reason I’m even considering it is because I absolutely fell in love with Xiao Zhan in "Legend of Zang Hai" and later discovered his global fame through "The Untamed". While "The Untamed" is globally adored and has a massive following, I’m personally not a fan of wuxia dramas. A lot of my friends on MDL and elsewhere have recommended it, and I do plan to watch it eventually, but maybe on my own time. Right now, I’m just not in the mood for that classic fantasy setup I’ve seen Xiao Zhan in before. That's why I was hoping to explore a modern drama instead.

I’ve really enjoyed "The Oath of Love"'s synopsis, but I was a bit taken aback by the trailer. The female lead’s behavior felt overly childish, especially considering the drama's premise. I expected her to be a bit more mature and grounded, particularly after learning about her father’s illness. Maybe I’m just dealing with an expectation mismatch, as I had a similar reaction with "Hidden Love", but after talking to others, I understood the character better. Still, I’m still getting used to C-dramas, and I really want to dive into them more. So far, I’ve enjoyed dramas like "Zang Hai", "Reset", and "Mobius", which were more to my taste. But modern rom-com C-dramas have proven harder to get into than I expected.

That brings me here: Is the trailer an accurate representation of how the female lead behaves throughout "The Oath of Love"? I really like Xiao Zhan, but if the female lead’s character remains like that for most of the drama, it might ruin the experience for me. As alternatives, I’m also considering "The Youth Memories" (which isn’t exactly modern rom-com, but still looks promising).

Also - given the actor and these works are super popular - I want to clarify that I mean no harm or disagree with anyone's liking for them, just am curious and exploring and hence would like to ask others' before I invest time and effort towards a new drama.

Drama time is precious for me, and I’d prefer not to tarnish the image of an actor I admire by watching something that might not suit my tastes. I’ve had this happen with Chen Zhe Yuan, and I’m hoping not to add another actor to that list.

I’m really eager to get more into C-dramas, but it’s proving trickier than I thought! So please, help out a fellow MDL-er 🙏🙏🙏

At end of Ep 3 -they find a corpse from the lake. The lake where Sarah Kim had jumped into (when she was going…
I completely agree with you. I started it mainly because of the leads and my trust in their acting abilities — and honestly, that’s what carried me through to the end. They truly elevated the material and made it worth finishing.

The premise itself was strong and full of potential, but some of the writing issues were too noticeable to ignore. They weren’t catastrophic flaws, yet they weren’t minor either — enough to affect the overall impact and fall short of the expectations I had going in.

Still, I don’t regret watching it. Seeing the leads shine and command their roles was satisfying in its own way, even if the story had its gaps. I’ve summarized these thoughts more clearly in my full review so new viewers can go in with balanced expectations: https://kisskh.at/profile/omo-omo-omo/review/540368

Yes, he had to prove that Mok Ga Hui was Sarah Kim. So if there was no body found that means she is alive and faked her suicide.

oh he did not put fish in the lake. That was a fake story that was being used to empty the lake. Since no one officially from the police was going to empty the lake, he kind of made a deal with Chairwoman of the Departmental Store. She was helping him empty the lake, but under the cover story that there are piranhas in the lake.

But yes, whose corpse was that?

Everyone asking for her real name is kind of proving the show’s point. We’re obsessed with ‘true identity’…
I think that's what she is been trying to say during the investigation. That - hey detective, don't get hung up on the details like names. Understand me as a person, my motives, I did everything to change my given fate / destiny, and I didn't want to continue it. So she changed everything about it, and removed anyone who threatened it. Understand why she had to do it - all for the dream she build - BOUDOIR! It was like her child, and so like a mother she did everything to protect it.

At least this is the way I saw it - the name was just a placeholder. There's no Sarah Kim, and everything was about Sarah Kim.

I have question based on Ep 4 start. Asking in first comment below under spoiler tag. I think this one thing that…
At end of Ep 3 -they find a corpse from the lake. The lake where Sarah Kim had jumped into (when she was going by the name of Mok Ga Hui). Whose corpse was that? They were thinking they won't find the corpse hence proving that Mok Ga Hui had faked her death and become Sarah Kim.

It was not Sarah - cause we know she's alive. The police find it and the scene is then cut to mortuary where it is declared that from the bones, it is supposed to be a male in 20-30s. The detective then exclaims the name "Kang Ji Hwon"

But then Kang Ji Hwon is alive and participates in the investigation, so whose corpse was it?
It also cannot be like a time gap, cause Kang Ji Hwon is alive and is asked about Sarah Kim's murder (in the sewer).

No. She was a mess. Go Eun was very different from Mina Sue. It’s a dating show, they can talk to different…
Like I said I think both were quite similar - if I combine the actual show and this reunion. Just one was very loud and proud about it, and other was shown with a mysterious quiet vibe. I won't call any of them problematic - cause its a show afterall, but then their role/behaviour is problematic, from the lens of a viewer as we also get heightened emotions while watching the show: same like the panelists, I am myself guilty of that - and am sure many others as audience. Which is all fine, given that's what the show wants us to do - get invested.
On Single's Inferno Reunion Feb 14, 2026
Reflecting back - Mina Sue was painted as a villain right from the start from the way she was so indecisive. In her journey, she did hurt people - be it men that were interested in her, or women who had liked those men too. This is a fact, and I don't think it will change. She did apologise for it, and while we know she could be a wonderful person in real life, at least that was her character.

I feel Go Eun was not so different. She did not hurt anyone, but I think to an extent she was indecisive too. It kind of came out in this reunion as they watched the show play out - and one of the man comments that it was neck to neck for all of them. While that can happen since you cannot really call feelings black and white, but then I feel it was not super different from Mina Sue. Except that she was not very loud and in your face or proud/vain about it, it was quiet and mysterious vibe that she had carried out in the show.

This is just my opinion - from the way I saw the show and now the reunion.

the way it is going I think I need to write a review/comment/ode dedicated to Su-been and Hee-sun. that casual handholding and cute bickering - what are you doing guys!! I love it - and I can't wait for more. Please let it not be for the camera and be real. I want to really believe in love from dating shows - for real 🥹🥹🥹

On Single's Inferno Reunion Feb 14, 2026
Watching this now - because I am "obsessed" with I-Geon 😍 and honestly S5 has been kind of my favorite. Maybe because after so many seasons I finally liked "two men" in it 🙈 Or maybe it’s just that it still feels so fresh and recent. Time will tell ✨

1. Su-been & Hee-Sun 💕
I’m sooo happy to see them again! Not sure if this reunion is partly for the cameras, but I love where they’re headed. These two were my favs from start to finish - I was satisfied with their ending, and now seeing them together again feels like a bonus gift 🎁 They’re still very young, so who knows how it’ll all play out - but I’m rooting for them with all my heart 💖 JUST GET MARRIED AND LIVE TOGETHER, HAPPILY EVER AFTER! Honestly these two make me beleive in fairytale lovestory, just Single's Inferno style!

2. Jo I-Geon 🥵
He was already "irresistible," and then he shows up at the reunion wearing glasses... excuse me, sir, have mercy 😭🔥 I-Geon-ssi, my ovaries, heart, and brain cannot handle this - but I’m not complaining! I’ve said this before here on MDL and on social media: delulu aside, I really hope *Single’s Inferno* becomes his breakthrough moment and he gets more acting projects.

I’ve seen him here, in EDEN 2, and in The Trunk. He was so good in the dating shows (even with the semi-scripted vibe), and in The Trunk he did well despite limited screen time. We all know some "actors" who are just there for the looks and nothing else 🙄 but I-Geon actually has both the visuals AND acting chops. Honestly, I’m surprised he hasn’t blown up yet. He deserves it so much - fingers crossed this is finally his moment 🌟🙏 Genuinely Praying!

3. Min-gee and Seung-Il
Looks like Min-gee wanted more and Seung-Il didn't. Sad, but I kind of expected it. I think one person had put in too much efforts, the other just went with the flow in the show, cause his other options were gone?

4. Hyeon Woo on Ep 3 - why am I here?

It was inventing Anna I’ve been trying to remember. It’s similar to this drama
Absolutely, I also finished it - a little after my earlier comment. And yes that's where the comparison ends, and the internal debate began for me, on what was Sarah and everything that she encapsulates. It was really a very thought-provoking drama, and well done in my opinion.
