What the Drama! Re-watching this in Oct 2026, and it still makes me laugh like crazy. I admit I am rewatching it cause I am missing Lee Jun Young (there's still a day for the finale of Four Hands Two Sonatas + he's away in military service; so no new drama/movie).
His acting as always is great - but this character was so different from his other roles. I realise that he had to do a hoarse voice most of the times, and his fitness-buff crazed expressions are to die for!! And ofc the various versions of WHAT THE....!! WHAT the FAT, What the Tteokbokki! What the Byeontaeeee!! And not just Jun Young, every character is so lovable and you can't help but laugh, cry and enjoy the ride with them.
It was not a serious drama - but then it was never meant to be. To me it is a comforting drama - in the sense that it makes me laugh and puts me in a good mood. Also this is the drama that actually put me on track for fitness IRL - so always will be special.
I wish more people saw it - and I think it deserves more love than it gets ❤️
I have not started this drama and not even sure of starting it. Mistakenly clicked on it - and the intro song was quite beautiful. Made me look at the drama summary here - and I am intrigued. Let's see how it progresses. It's giving Lovely Runner vibes and a bit like C-dramas for some reason (the visuals are similar to some C-drama trailers that I have seen). Definitely will keep a tab on this one on the comments and ratings.

Yes - since we have to wait for new episodes, in between I am watching his older dramas. Now we are ready towards the finale, next weekend - I guess it will be a bittersweet closure to this ill-fated brotherhood of Jeong Yo and Pio.

The love between these two boys - now men, Jeong Yo and Pio is an ill-fated one. Without the interference of their family circumstances they would have been friendly rivals and close like brothers. But because of the evil that others did, theirs is a rivalry, brotherhood and love that's ill-fated.
Can't wait for the finale next week, I have a feeling it is going to be a bittersweet ending, and I need to keep my tissues ready. It was great ride, now am prepared for the final performance!

Just barely into 5 minutes of Ep 10 - and in a single frame shot, LJY's character Jeong Yo goes from indifferent to angry to disappointment to anguish. From an acting appreciation POV - I want to rewatch it again and again. This drama keeps giving me more and more reminders of why I fell in love with Lee Jun Young's acting (and ofc him).
I am not a Song Kang fan - but I think he's also done a good job of bringing out Pi-o's character. Maybe it's deliberate and his character has anxious or agitated expressions. You can't help but feel pity or disappointed at him and his choices. Which is good, compared to the work I have seen of his earlier - and felt that he's just another pretty face + hot bod that's why he's popular. But with this drama I have appreciated his acting too. Still, it pales in comparison with Lee Jun Young's range.
Overall - love how they both come together in this drama. Hope to see them together in future projects. Going back to watch the rest [I had to pause and write this cause LJY is so good].

I think every drama, movie, scene of his that I see - makes me be in awe of his detailing / depth of acting, all over again. Really hope he becomes a house-hold name, I still feel he is underrated, and not as popular as others [they are mainly known for their looks] which is shame. He deserves more main lead roles and more love! Cheering for him, forever! Such a talented man - can't wait for more of his projects once he's back!

Just finished Ep 9 and this drama just keeps getting better and better - and for me the soul of this drama is Lee Jun Young.
I did not need anymore evidence - cause I know Lee Jun Young is one of the greatest actors I have come across, and not just in K-dramas. I feel weird when he's introduced as rising star/upcoming star - I think he's an Oscar worthy performer. Every-Single-Time. There has been no character where he's not owned it like its his second skin, while maintaining his own unique style. Completely and irrevocably in love with him and his craft.
In Ep 9 - when he hears Pi-o's "confession" the way he purses his lips.[12:40-12:45] Then, next scene when he leaves Pi-o's house after asking him to perform again with him - he goes from cute look to simply lowers his eyes, then when he looks up his entire face has changed just cause he furrowed his eyebrows slightly and his eyes just get that fierce look. [19:15-19:20]
I literally paused and re-watched multiple times. It was so damn brilliant.
And regarding his motive, I don't think there's a plan for revenge - I feel he wants Pi-o to break out of his bubble of technicality and start playing music with a soul. Or if at all there's a revenge planned - I think it will drive Pi-o mad, like his mother, and what his grandfather fears happens to musicians who are driven like him and Pi-o. They literally lose themselves to music; not in it.
Pi-o's mother is getting crazier and crazier, which makes me fear for both the men - Pi-o and Jeong Yo: their relationship is good, but it has been marred by circumstances and one crazy mother.
As we progress closer to the Grand Finale ~ I can't wait for how this music journey ends for all.

I haven’t actually watched the drama, but since it’s all over my feed, it’s hard to ignore. I loved the core premise—long-term relationships going stale—because it’s such a realistic concept with so much potential. Unfortunately, execution-wise, it feels like they missed the mark.
It actually reminds me of the Japanese drama 1122: For a Happy Marriage (2024) (which is getting a Korean remake). I haven't fully watched it yet, but I read the synopsis and skimmed a few episodes. While ALOTY features an unmarried couple, both series explore the same underlying issue: why long-term partners lose spark and interest. Even in the few scenes I skimmed, 1122 seemed to handle the emotional nuance much better.
(Also, side note: is this how the main leads ended up getting married in real life? Jk, but their chemistry was absolute fire!)
In the end, I hope this drama does a good job wrapping things up. Waiting for it to finish airing and then see the overall verdict.
I don't watch much of C-dramas, and when I do have to leave them cause of bad subs/unavailability. Therefore my completed list remains small.
Yet I remain hopeful, and therefore this article really excited me - especially seeing the names of some of my favorite C-actors: Chen Zhe Yuan (he's in a modern set-up and suspense, I am totally up for it); Xiao Zian (have been looking for his modern dramas and hoping this is the one for me) and Cheng Yi (had to drop Lotus Mysterious Casebook cause after first few eps rest were not available in my region and English - still searching).
Hopefully these 3 dramas at least help me break my C-drama drought! *fingers-crossed*
I was going to watch this drama when I knew SKJ was going to be on it - cause I am a mere mortal woman who cannot deny good looks & he's not a terrible actor either. But when I came to know that this show has ideas or treads upon cheating/infidelity and 2 people unable to make their mind after 10 years together - it did not sit well with me.
But mainly its the over-advertising and marketing. This drama is everywhere - and so into your face that it's irritating. Like they say "too much of anything can also be bad" - that's the case there. I cannot help but see the ratings are dropping and there are a lot of negative comments all around. Its like they don't have a decent story-line and so making up for it from marketing + showing SKJ's abs and charms in reels/shorts/tiktok videos.
Anyways - I remain undecided on watching this. Will see later, once it ends if I want to give it a try - but this is definitely one of the cases where over-marketing has killed the excitement (if any) for me.
Not sure - if anyone else felt that, but as with many things - I had to just write it here to let it off my chest. It has been bugging me since a long time.
