Hello! Thank you for reading :) Make me Tingle was not advertised so much, I feel. Even I came across it randomly. Usually the videos that mention upcoming dramas - "100 Days of Deception" is the one that's most shared, then "Final Table", "Love in Disguise" and "Take Charge of my Heart".
So glad I came across it, in case you've not seen here's the trailer. One of those dramas that speak about "adult topics" and I am hoping it will be a comedic affair. I personally loved the movie "Love and Leashes" (also called Moral Talks) - it showed BDSM in a very great way, without being explicit which was so refreshing. So am getting similar vibes + the western show: Jane the Virgin.
Omg - I can't believe so many have already completed the drama. I am on Ep 2 and my first impressions:
[1] So good to have Kim Young Kwang back in a rom-com. It seems he has been doing negative/grey characters recently. This takes me back to the first drama that I loved him in "Secret Life of my Secretary (2019)" - special to me cause that's where my MDL avatar comes from ;)
So good to see him with diva CEO, pookie energy - and some things never change: hugging FL in first few episodes making our hearts flutter, and his character has some health issues and needs the FL.
I needed this to remember - how good he looks in glasses, and 3-piece suits, like wow! Model Kwang energy is back too! He looks so handsome as always!
[2] Cha Woo Min - seems like he's getting typecast as playing idols. Just saw him in "My Bias, My Boss" but I remember him too well from Brave Citizen and Buried Hearts. He's really good - and I want to see him in more diverse roles cause I know he's someone with a lot of potential. But till then loving all his work and I am really looking forward to his makeup and character in Solo Leveling.
[3] Jung Jae Kwang - another great actor who has immense potential and I am just sad that he's not a male lead. He was so good in "Trauma Code" "Connection" "Idol I" - I loved him, he has the looks and the acting. He seems to be good here as well, but with 10 episodes I feel he's going to be rough - just come in to cause hurdles as the antagonist and go away. At least in the 2 eps I have seen him, seems like he's going to be in background and not have time to unleash his craft.
[4] Shin Do Hyun - okay, I find her extremely pretty. I have only seen her or rather remember her most vividly from the drama "Doom at your Service". She was awesome as the FL's best friend - and second couple FL. Same like Jung Jae Kwang - I feel we might not seem much of her. Since she's pining for the ML, we are going to see her as causing trouble in paradise - but not like a full-fledged villain.
[5] I am so happy to see so many familiar faces - the ones I spoke earlier + FL's sister, ML's secretary, Cha Woo Min's secretary, ML's grandmother, Jung Jae Kwang's mother - all people I don't know their name at the tip of my tongue but have seen them in so many other dramas. It is always fun to see familiar faces!
Overall, I think this is going to be a fun drama - I might not binge it straightaway though. It was one of the dramas I was looking forward to - but then it's not unique or reinventing a cliche. Another thing - I am still in the afterglow of "Four Hands, Two Sonatas" and I feel the drama "100 Days of Deception" which airs tomorrow is the one that's going to match the energy. Therefore I might watch this in-between as I wait for "100 Days of Deception" for which I have sky-high expectations.
Still, the month of October is really full of great dramas!! Waiting for Doctor X and Merry Berry Love to air some more - and then decide if I want to watch. Another one I am CRAZIIIILLLYYY waiting for - MAKE ME TINGLEEE!!!
Romance is still the majority favorite genre while this drama has a little tip of romance. Not anyone could enjoy…
I am fan of thriller/mystery and am really curious about Republican Era of which I dont really find much works, mainly short/vertical dramas or some others but they are not widely available in my region.

I have been waiting for this to complete and watch this drama. I liked the poster and the premise of the drama. Just now I saw a small clip on social media - where some lady is trying to kidnap a little girl, only for her to call the main guy (police?) her dad. And I am ooooohhh - I want to see more. Plus I am not certain where it lies on the historical timeline (is it Republican Era?) but I like this time period - war and military of sorts.
But before starting - I am just surprised at the ratings. Wanted to ask - even though 90% of my mind is already made up to watch it - is it not good, like is their any incomplete ending or something that led to such low ratings?

I know - I understood the emotional angle, but I was like "Damn it, Pio - you can find him faster using the search feature. Go Go Go, find your man broooo!!" haha
while I am still reveling after that finale - there's something I want to say...it made me laugh a bit. Why did Pio have to manually search for the church from the postcard. He knows that image search does exist right?
I know it was something very minor - but the tech nerd in me was like, bro just image search it. Anyways - I am just so happy with that ending. I wanted more, no doubt - but those smiles - those damn smiles! My heart is full ❤️
since I am missing him, more so after Four Hands got over - I got thinking that I really want to see him a historical male lead role. He's done a bit part in the drama "The Queen Who Crowns" and I have only seen that part (last episode). He looks really good in there and so this is like my wishlist to see him a sageuk, someday!
Just recalled one interesting trivia: The actress who plays Jae-In's mother + CEO of the agency, also played as the step mother of Lee Jun Young's character Han Su Gang in Brave Citizen.
Had known about how his gang hyung was in Weak Hero Class 2 and now this - #smallworld

I can't imagine how Ep 12 is going to end, I hope it ends on a happy note, but seeing the preview and this episode I really doubt it. At least for Jeong Yo - it seems like it will be not a happy ending. The way he's holding his right hand throughout the episode, seems like it getting worse. On top of that the conversation he had with Pi-o's grandfather - the entire dialogue was about judging artist and their art irrespective of their flaws. But I have a feeling that JY is thinking he isn't someone - who can live without his art. I am really dreading what he's up to and I know I have to be ready with tissues tomorrow regardless.
It's like Jeong Yo's role was to make Pi-o break out of his shell and truly play piano and be happy while doing so. He did as a child, then when they were in school together and now even as an adult he brought out the best in him through Nemesis - and Pi-o got his greatest wishes: seeing his grandfather acknowledge him and play again with his closest friend, his brother - Jeong Yo. I have a feeling Jeong Yo - feels utterly alone, and his music was his connection to his mother, his purpose, and even a source of his friendship with Pi-o. With that slipping away, I feel he might feel there's no need for him to go on. I really hope that does not happen - but given how this drama was tragic to begin with, JY might feel he's done his duty and made Pi-o find his music soul, and thus depart forever. I really hope it does not come to that - I think I will be broken. The characters are all pitiful in their own stories - but personally I find JY is the loneliest of them all. Oh damn - I can't help but feel my throat choking even typing this. Please let me be wrong.
Lee Jun Young - your acting, your talent, bringing Jeong Yo alive - to this level, is beyond amazing and therefore if there is a sad ending, the level in which I am absorbed, I think it will devastate many. You beautiful beautiful talented man - you're such a great actor. I have loved K-drama actors since a long time, but I always know that I am not going to meet them ever even in fanmeets. But LJY - he really makes me want to hope, make the trip and meet him if an opportunity ever presents to simply thank him for making all the shows/movies he's done and truly shared what acting is. I know of the hardships he's gone through - and every project of his makes me think he's done so well - but this character - oh I want to shake his hands or hug him and tell him that he's done well. He's done really very well.
A note about the music - I am not a music aficionado, but I know a few well known classical pieces and enjoy them. Basis that and how it was shown in the drama - Nemesis was so good. You could literally feel 2 rivals fighting - the orchestra vs pianist; felt kind of fitting JY vs PO.
Then the last piece that grandfather played - oh damn, it was poetically fitting as meant to be. Mozart's Lacrimosa - I have heard this piece so many times before this drama, but hearing it in the context that grandfather set up and then how he fell ill - fearing he is nearing his own end, and must pay for his own sins - it made me have goosebumps. Reminded me again, of how powerful music is. Brilliantly done by the drama creators.
I will be writing a review tomorrow - I think this drama deserves one, it is not an easy watch - and I don't mean it in the bad way. It is so complex, it has a lot of layers that if you watch it lightly you will not like it. It is deep - just like the music the people in this drama have played and lessons given - you cannot watch it superficially - one needs to understand - literally every character here is truly pitiful, they are flawed in their own way - and which is what makes it interesting to see how they grow and fall during their journeys in a world where music makes friends, brothers, partners also become rivals. It's a tragic story, and therein lies its beauty. A poignant tale of how life could have been had they been a product of different circumstances, but life had a way to test them. Waiting to how they finish this masterpiece!
