FINALLYYY! EP 8 - where were you all this time? This episode has made weeks of ranting/ waiting worthwhile. WHY?
1) the suspense/mystery is finally unfolding and am loving the direction it is headed. The innocent folks are looking sus and the already sus people are making bold moves. GAME ON! Can't wait for the finale to come in and reveal it all.
2) I am still FF-ing the "apparent" romance parts. But a scene that made me smile, without rolling my eyes at the forced chemistry. It was the elevator sign lang conversation. Rather it was YYS - after the FL exits and ML practicing the smile sign on his own. Cute! Afterall only YYS can pull off the goofy aspect while looking suave AF.
The mystery is the only reason that has hooked me to this drama. The romance part is still not working for me. The main leads are my favorite actors and they are doing the part - but am still unhappy how they have been directed to become a lovey-dovey couple overnight after years of neglect/indifference.
STILL - glad that the story is getting closer to the finish line, and I can't wait for the mystery to unravel. In my mind I have now given up on the romance, it is just not working for me. The chemistry is as good as the infamous K-drama cardboard kiss/fish face kiss - just extrapolate it to overall romance.
I have watching this drama twice - it was not flawless, but oddly addictive. But one thing I have not been able to fully grasp is why her friends/neighbors were hiding the affair from her - and happily were partying with the mistress? And why FL forgave them in the end.
Like I know it is a drama and follows drama-logic but I still don't understand why even though I understand the reasons the drama told us. For her husband - I am okay, hence the title and stress on the fact that it is strange being in the "world of married" but am not able to grasp it for the friends and neighbors.
I did request/update the details - after having a conversation with other MDLs who are watching this show. Earlier…
Thank you - I will check it out. From the summary and poster it looks really good. Someone also recommended: The Witch's Game (https://kisskh.at/735169-the-witch-s-game)
Given both are completed I think I'll give them a try. They are definitely long but am oddly addicted to them.
KBS and MBC (SBS stopped making dailies like 3 years ago iirc) would rather invest more money into the prime time…
Thank you so much @cosmiccosmetics (Love the username BTW) for the detailed explanation. I have always wondered why the short episode dramas look different from the long format ones.
And just because as an international audience I am not watching it at the time it is aired - so I did not not what were aired in prime time and what on off-peak time. But your explanation made me understand - and ofc, it makes more sense why the production house is putting money according to the viewership and target audience.
I will definitely look out - Game of Witches, it had been on my radar for quite sometime. I'll skip Amor Fati - I believe you when you say it is bad.
Just 6 minutes into Ep 7 and I almost need to pull my hair. This drama clearly is not paced well, characters and…
Main Issue - and evidently highlighted in Ep 7 Start:
They both are supposed to hate each other and have been doing so in some capacity in last few years.
Even if the ML is pretending to hate her all this while and he wants her to hate him back so that they don't get closer. They carried this out for 3 years at least. The FL too has hated/disliked him - and which is why she went ahead with the plan to use the phone and blackmail him. In her anger, frustration, hatred - call it what you want - but it was definitely not care/love.
Understand that they went about their business as it is for 3 years, and this phone call/kidnapping became the catalyst and which is why the events/this story is taking place. But then how can they forget everything of the past 2-3 years in a matter of minutes?
Overtime as drama progressed - we are seeing that okay they are not sworn enemies as the ML and FL were childhood sweethearts. BUT BUT BUT - it is evident that there has been sometime in between where they did not care for each other and carried on their on ways. Which is why somehow Paik Sa Eon was supposed to marry I-na. Therefore, even if we know that the ML had feelings for FL - the FL definitely did not feel anything till then.
But then suddenly she was forced to marry him. Should she not resent him for that which derailed her own life goals/plans and everything else that made her life be nothing more than a puppet of ML and his family and ofc her own family?
How can all those pent up frustration, anger, dislike, non-care attitude, what she heard when kidnapped, initial reason to leave him - all vanish? And suddenly they are declaring and confessing their love for each other.
It really makes no sense - which is why I blame the pace, storytelling capabilities of the writers and directors of this show.
I continue to wait and watch this show only cause I NEED to know the past stories/mysteries and ending. Everything else till now is flawed.
Just 6 minutes into Ep 7 and I almost need to pull my hair.
This drama clearly is not paced well, characters and situations are not explored well. I think for the first time I will say that a drama needs more episodes. Details in First Comment Under Spoiler Tag.

Ikr! Though we have seen such a plot in revenge dramas - but then it did not follow the timeline logic. Like how could she die and be reborn in the same time as a 30+ year old. Weird haha!
But good that the summary makes sense now. Enjoying the show too - though I should have waited, 100 episodes is too long to wait - the suspense is killing me!
Curious Question - why are the daily dramas usually with high number of episodes - have different kind of cinematography. They look like they are more realistic, shot in a set like environment.
Idk how to explain it - but the other dramas are also produced within sets but have that glamour/editing touch up kind of thing.
Not aware of the exact terms - but I hope someone gets it. Really want to understand why this is - is it due to production costs / tools / effects etc. And why? Usually the actors and crew are interchangeable so is it like a deliberate move?
Observation: I like how her works are of similar wordings - "I Can Speak" " I Am Home" Recommendation: Just like I can already anticipate "I Am Home" will be good given the caliber of the main casts - Na Moon Hee& Yoo Seung Ho, the other movie "I Can Speak" is also a must watch. It is heartwarming, based on true stories and also stars another acting genius and one of my favs, Lee Je Hoon ❤️
I did request/update the details - after having a conversation with other MDLs who are watching this show. Earlier it said she will "reborn" and I was like what??
I am assuming many others also submitted a request to update it or maybe the page author did it. But so glad the new one makes more sense!
The Korean ver never hooked me up, mainly due to Song Kang's acting skills, as the ML needs A LOT of microexpression…
Your comment resonated with me so I felt like replying back.
I too liked the synopsis of Nevertheless (Korean) but did not watch it for the exact same reason as yours - I do not find the acting of ML & FL convincing in their other works. Therefore while the synopsis was great and attractive, I never attempted to watch. (also - I think you meant in your comment the lack of Song Kang's acting skills?)
But seeing the Japanese version and the fact that Yokohama Ryusei plays the ML - I was thinking of giving it a try. I have seen almost all of his works and in fact a character that comes close to blending the red/green or grey flag is one he played in Cursed in Love (which remains one of my fav J-dramas).
It is still airing so will wait for it to end - and then binge watch. But as always am surprised why the rating of J-dramas is so low.

Always up for some old J-Pop!

BAE In Hyuk is definitely BAE 🥰
