This looks/sounds incredibly stupid, but Jin Kijoo is my girl and Seo Kangjoon looks super handsome in the teaser,…
Omo - you just stole the words out of my mouth (head?) I love Jin Ki joo - feel she is a very underrated actress (still) and yes, who can resist the handsome Seo Kang Joon (I have not seen many projects of his and while he is not the greatest but still good actor).
Plot sounds funny while reading the synopsis but then I'll believe in drama-logic and the cast and crew to make it happen.
I have not come across the teaser - can you share the link ?
It could all be an act as part of his revenge against the Chairwoman, he knows Se Young is her niece.Just speculation…
I really hope so - but does not seem like, he geniunely seems to be into her still. She too, though I feel she can change given we have seen her be on the side where money is. Or maybe she will change and be with Ji Seok too.
Either - he will die/sacrifice himself for the greater good or something. OR they will end up together - like Se Young will be banished from the Yoo household after the whole truth comes out and she will leave for US and ofc ji Seok will follow.
Honestly I'll prefer - if Se Seong leaves alone and starts a new honest life somewhere else, and Ji Seok remains with his family and also finds someone new.
But given the way the dramas usually go it looks like they'll end up together, Jin Goo and Ha Na are definitely not people who will hold grudges and rather wish them happiness. Meh but yeah
Someone help me. How will this work with the sister already knowing Ha Na is fake? All she has to do is tell Ha…
It will all conviniently come out at the time of succession or will being made :P Either Myeong Ji/Se Young or even Ji Seok and Richard Han can reveal it at any point.
Basically at every point Ha Na will have more enemies than allies.
I am interested to see how her romance with ML bloom. Like how will they break off his engagement with Se Young and so on? Or will he just keep supporting Ha Na while being engaged with Se Young and ultimately when the final confrontation will happen and Se Young leave for US (and of course Ji Seok will follow) and Ha Na and Jin Goo will be together?
The questions and the anticipation is just too much!
It's a limited series, until it get way too popular, like Beef
I loooove your profile picture - one of the best things Squid Game S2 gave us. And thanks for sharing that it is limited series, that works for me cause I really want the creators to go back to original single series formulae.
Okay - I get it that Ji Seok and Se Yeong have a lot of old feelings - but I really don't want them to get back together. Like why can't they move on and find new partners. Given that Se Young is the antagonist here, I'll personally feel weird if she is given a redemption arc given the damage she has caused to so many people around her, knowingly + under her mom's influence.
Love the trailer! Ju Ji Hoon and Choo Young Woo's characters feel like it would a good bromance + mentor/mentee + butting heads kind! Plus I spot two of my favorite talented ahjussis in support role: Kim Won Hae and Kim Eui Sung β€οΈβπ₯Can't Wait!
The only thing am skeptical about is the 8 episode & this being a Netflix production. I really hope they finish the story in one season only. I gravitated towards K-dramas because they are one season and short format. Honestly cannot take in more long periods of waiting and multi-season anymore (looking at you Squid Games) π
I think I have thing for salt-face/Shiogao faced men (eg: Kentaro Sakaguchi) and Lee Ga Sub is in that category too π₯°
I have seen him first in Black Out and now watching him in The Frog. The first one - he played the roles of twins and in both had a maniacal/weak/vulnerable mix of portrayal which I found amazing and a testament of his talent. He also carried a bit of that nerdy-handsome look in both the shows which I love - regardless if men are fictional or real ππ»
Really want to see more of him in dramas - main roles, now - for his acting and the looks ππ
This is my first daily K-drama and one of the few makjangs that I have/am seeing. Why are they so good and entertaining?
Like I know there are cliches and predictable twists - but why does it make me feel all range of emotions (mainly want the evil ones to get a taste of their own medicine/plotting) and addicted week after week. Really loving it so far with 30 eps done. Initially I thought daily dramas would be slow and prolong/stretch the story but this one is really paced well.
While I know she would be too good till the end, I am waiting for the FL to have her cinderella moment and bitch-slap the evil characters #muahahahaaa. Also really hoping the Ji Seok does not get back with his ex - even though their feelings are still there, please duh nope. My favorites happen to be - Eun Chong and Ji Chang - why are the so cute!! β€οΈ
I absolutely agree..I'm so glad they did it this way so TOP didnt receive any hate cuz of his past before the…
Yes - cause sometimes people are too quick to take action - forgetting that the person on the recieving end is also a human just like them who feels hurt. This does not disregard any of his past mistakes - but if someone is trying to change, why are we not giving them a chance and quickly jumping the gun?
Anyways - celeb stuff aside, I have just been totally impressed by the marketing team of the show and Netflix, in all respects. And Hoping this decision would be a good thing.
I love this drama - its charaters and story - way too much! It was life-changing in more ways than one, especially now that I am a corporate worker too.
Sequels usually cannot live up to the prequels, cause there are always comparisons and the prequel have the first move advantage. So which makes me skeptical on how this one will come together.
Still, lets see not that I have any power if they are creating it - so will wait and watch.
I love Hyeri ever since I first saw her in the Reply series. I love her personality too seeing her interactions in her YouTube show. I also was on her side during her love/relationship drama π - basically just connect with her on so many levels!
My first thought when I saw this article was "How do these K-actors/actresses pull off these looks and characters that are now almost half their age?"
I know it is a rhetorical question - given I know the efforts that goes behind to carry it out - the exercise, diet, skincare, makeup, editing, medicines/supplements, dermatologist guidance etc. Still it always puts me in awe how they all are convincingly able to pull it off β€οΈ
Having said that there is also the other side and my second thought - "but would it not be better to cast an aspiring actor/actress who is closer to the characters' age than someone who is almost double?"
This is not just pertaining to K-dramas - but across Hollywood and other regions also have similar examples. I know star power is one of the factors in selecting the cast as they know an unknown face might not attract the audience as much as a popular actor/actress (I mean see - we are also here for the article and the star's name in it) and then of course the irrefutable area like their talent and experience - but it is definitely a question to ponder . . . giving chances to new faces!
Anyways - pondering aside - I am liking the vibe of this drama. The theme mentions it as a mystery thriller, so I am hoping it is something like Pyramid Game or Extracurricular? It will be interesting to see and given Hyeri is in it - can be reassured the acting will be top-notch! β€οΈ
Squid Game have the best marketing team - this is one of the good examples where they waited for the tide to turn and then making use of it.
I am a proud VIP - and while all the members of BIGBANG are my favorites, I had a special place for GD and TOP. I have seen his earlier works as well, and while I did not connect much with his character in Squid Game, hands-down TOP was one of the most entertaining one in the show. In the sense that Thanos was a character that was fully used - we get a background to end all in the season. Which is great considering I found this season a little on the filler side and we are still awaiting other characters' arcs to fully develop and conclude next seaason.
Coming back to the marketing ingeniuty of Squid Games and Netflix - I know that the public can be a little extreme sometimes especially in Korea, so maybe this why they chose to have TOP's interview after assessing the public review. Probably had it been in the same time, there could have been some who would have asked the interview or show to be cancelled (we all know how it is in the comment section on MDL and social media).
So really just amazed by the entire marketing of this show - It is Literally Every where, in every collab - and how they took care of such sentiments too regarding their actors. Lots to learn about :)
One of those actors who can do anything - and I'll watch, because he is that good! But I really want a drama or him to play a character like Ahn Yona again π would also be great if Park Seo Joon can join in #best-couple-award-winners π
Jung Ji So (FL)'s expressions when she is O Mal Sun remind me so much of Kotoko - Hanoka Yahagi. Especially the times she pouts/makes her face into that "o" face or irritated at someone.
Really funny and so talented! Too early to form any verdict (still on Ep 5) but her acting is super engaging! In fact, I think I rewatched Mischievous Kiss more for Kotoko's (over)acting than the plot π π π
I love Jin Ki joo - feel she is a very underrated actress (still) and yes, who can resist the handsome Seo Kang Joon (I have not seen many projects of his and while he is not the greatest but still good actor).

Would love to know what others watching the show think and do share your theories too!
