Read 1 overlooked comment here and just confirmed this:
The production company No3 Pictures behind this drama has produced BL drama/s before. The actor for the gangster character Dong Soo was also part of the cast of their last BL drama.
They’ve also produced the critically acclaimed kdrama Misaeng.
The director of this drama has ALSO directed another BL before.
So I don’t think you can just black and white label the production team homophobes just for removing the explicit BL element in this drama.
he didn't date any girl in the drama, he told that girl to ask him again in two weeks cause he thought SYH would…
Someone here quite literally told me “it’s only his soul that’s old because supernatural circumstances, but since he’s physically young it’s not being pedo/pervert”
I mean I get it, supernatural fiction like this doesn’t apply in real life so people are free to make up their own interpretations to suit whatever floats their entertainment boat.
Personally I don’t see characters in these kind of time travel or soul swap fictions as anything other than their original ages. It’s not the same as having memories of a whole past lifetime/s. If the character still feels like they’re mentally 47, then they’re 47. And even so, in either case, no relationship OR impure thoughts from the older one should occur before the other party is a mature enough adult.
Don’t forget to account for Korean age system, which means the character can be 17 internationally even if stated…
Well you’re gonna have to get used to Korean age system if you’re going to be watching Kdramas. 99.9% of subs do not add a subnote about it nor translate it to an international age.
i just saw a whole argument for" A 17 yr old and a 47 year old is a cr!me. Can't believe people are defending…
Don’t forget to account for Korean age system, which means the character can be 17 internationally even if stated to be 19 in Korean. At some episode they also mentioned the term “minor” regarding some character. The bullies at the end were also sent to juvie not adult prison. Thus the characters in the class were yes, minors legally.
You're worried about creepy age gaps or elements in media? Ban/censor Disney princess movies. The princes were…
And you wonder why American media has fallen out of grace over the decades of debauchery and lack of moral values etc etc etc
Plus the Twilight fandom, like the Disney Princess movies were kids, who just as unfortunately cannot readily see the problematic nature of the media they consume.
he didn't date any girl in the drama, he told that girl to ask him again in two weeks cause he thought SYH would…
Two wrongs don’t make one right. You seem to be of the community that tends to forget that and uses it as a justification for more wrongs. “thEy Did iT, wHy nOt mE”
I’d even argue that showing, encouraging promotion of a problematic relationship for a minority community that’s trying to find a stronger foothold in a conservative society is more harmful than not showing the representation. Because it just helps to feed into the narrative that “gays are problematic, must be why they don’t care about inappropriate age”.
Also that 35+ crushing on the underaged ML in 18 Again was called “pervert” in the drama and her attentions were clearly uncomfortable for the characters so the drama is not really encouraging that type of behaviour.
~ I don’t care to ask whether you mean to boycott or support or stay neutral for that actor in regards to his past crimes. I’m asking how you feel about the crimes themselves? If the age of his victim/s made you feel more uncomfortable?

Disney movies are fucked up in more ways than one but unfortunately kids don’t realise that when they watch it. Most kids or even their parents won’t even know how old the characters are. #i did not until now
It’s only when we grow up and reflect back do we see how messed up some of the kid media was.
I’m not sure how many people actually like the Twilight series, because in my memory it’s been far more infamous than famous, with most people calling Edward a creepy stalker and the “love story” terrible.
But sure, I agree with you. Disney Princess movies and Twilight can go get buried and forgotten in a coffin of shame.
Lol, i think the way he was in the drama... he might go for older ladies 🤣🤣That man was never interested…
I’m sorry I don’t feel like repeating the same thing again and again….
But you all are literally taking the blind date thing way too seriously.
From the dialogue exchanged and his nagging at CSK, it appears he intends to play as a wingman for CSK to get Him to loosen up and act his age.
Also there is plenty of difference in maturity even between high school and college. And you have absolutely no idea who else is going to turn up to that meeting. There very well could be a mature student, a 35 year old woman returning for further studies the way Deuk Pal himself would have before he died and lost his original body.
But seriously, throughout the drama we have not seen one scene with Deuk Pal that showed him ever being interested in women. Not even when he was an adult and not stuck in a mismatched body. The teen girls? He never realised when they flirted with him and it had to be spelt out, which took him by surprise. That moment when he screwed up and hurt the feelings of that girl by calling her face not small? He called them “Agassis”, not “yeoja”. He’s not going to suddenly stop behaving like he’s their parent overnight. That wouldn’t be very logical character development.
he didn't date any girl in the drama, he told that girl to ask him again in two weeks cause he thought SYH would…
What’s your take on the actor of Deuk Pal’s boss and his crimes?
If you’ve watched 18 Again, how’d you feel about the ML’s wife’s 35+ year old best friend flirting with the ML when he became a random good looking teenager?
The drama isn’t really a direct adaption of this movie, though it has a similar premise. Drama was adapted from…
Is there an article or something about the webtoon/web novel author having entered that competition ? Because the drama does have not direct connections (copyright, promo, etc) with the movie.

There’s a comment somewhere here defending against the accusation with some long paragraph to justify the minute differences and technicalities in what can be considered pedophilia. I gave up at that point.
I’m sure they’re also the same people that would be protesting against the casting of that old actor who got charged with prostitution of an 18~ ish year old. So it’s just hypocrisy and picking and choosing to push for a BL fantasy rather than caring about the gay community.
And then they cast the man 63yo man who had spent his career forcing underage girls with himself or others for…
Unfortunately that actor is in a lot of bigger dramas. Such as Stranger or Vagabond
Boycotting this low budget webdrama where he only has an irrelevant 5 min cameo in 2 episodes would likely do more harm to the younger main cast than have any affect on him
Can someone explain why Yi-heon did not want to continue living? As everything was sorted out for him, was something…
External changes to your environment accomplished by a third party does not automatically cure your psychological damage or reset your survival will, dreams or aspirations.
It’s like how people expect that if the criminals are caught and put behind bars that their victims can now move on and go on with their life happily as if nothing happened. They do not gain back what they lost by finding justice, they only seek closure. Finding the will to live again requires finding a new purpose in life. Which unfortunately Song Yi Heon didn’t have one to begin with. So his exhaustion remained and won over, he just wanted the peace of the afterlife now.
And yes, there is also the fact to consider that he may end up feeling like an imposter in his own skin on return because atleast as far as his peers are concerned, he would not be the guy they befriended.
jae min killed Yi Heon and the punishment fit that crime. Se kyung was the final nail to that coffin when he refused…
Although I see and agree with some of the arguments of having Yi Heon come back to live his life… I’m sort of glad they showed this route.
It leaves a longer impact in the audience’s mind of what victims of bullying go through. The consequences of parental neglect. It’s permanent.
As we spend more time with the bully’s character than we do with original Yi Heon and also because the actors playing the bullies are always going to be good looking attractive men, and then when they go through a redemption arc people tend to have a goldfish memory and forgive forget easily. Bully learned his lesson? Victim can now live in peace without harassment? Great, alls well that ends well, let’s hope the cute bully and his ex victim male lead can now be friends. But no, it doesn’t just end for the victim like that. The memory of their trauma isn’t erased magically. The changes in their personality and perception of the world due to this doesn’t just reset to happy functioning normal kid again.
Those kids ending up in juvie for a bit school bullying isn’t excessive or harsh when you consider the fact their victim truly died, even if we can’t prove that legally.
There’s another thing the ending brings up. And it’s that you can’t just fix a person’s trauma by making external changes to their environment. Someone else can’t live your life for you and fix it. It just becomes their life and their accomplishments.

Any idea what the Koreans think about this all?
Night has come was more entertaining and that wasn’t an above average drama either

Why not just make a drama adaptation themselves?

Or they just see two hot young actors and want to impulsively ship them

Drama was adapted from a BL web novel/webtoon of the same name.
