my goal is to stop people discouraging others from giving this show a chance. it had been clobbered enough by those who made a big deal of the controversies

Regarding SK viewers, I have nothing but deep respect for their patriotism. They were used by people who wanted to undermine this show

TKEM affected me more than LOTR. And I like it better than GOT. After that GOT finale, I felt like I wasted 8 years of my life.

do you honestly not understand the difference between "re-watch" and "re-watch TWICE IN A ROW"?

you must be drunk or something. with your name-calling and all, i should not be talking to you. you totally misunderstood my point about the SK viewers. i was just wondering myself if you were being paid by the saboteurs of this drama

can you read the sentence well? I said, "but I never re-watched its episodes twice in a row." Please re-read "TWICE IN A ROW". I'm sure I had explained this already, but here it is again. Re-watching a show is different from "re-watching it TWICE IN A ROW". Re-watching a show TWICE IN A ROW means you watch it, then re-watch it right after.

Why would people wonder about the negative comment? The reviews written are more than 70% negative The MDL rating…
I answered comments like, "Why is the rating so high when the majority of viewers seem to give this a thumbs down.". That's the reason I posted this comment and similar like this. Because other commenters are wondering about the amount of negative comments in this section. I know how they feel because that was exactly what I felt when I was new in this section - confused about the intensity of hatred against the show in a section that I had expected to be partial towards it

Check my reviews of other kdramas I watched. I actually just started watching a major winner in the 56th Baeksang award and dropped it after the 5th episode as I found it too boring.

The plot holes were just the perception of some viewers. If you read more discussions about plot holes, you will find that viewers just did not see the answers that were presented

if the reviews are 70% negative then I guess people expect the rating to be 3/10

What you describe as part of the fun (i.e. filling the plot holes) would only work if the show was still airing…
She did fill the holes, we just had to find her answers. If you read the comments more, you will find a lot of criticisms about so-called holes that I actually found were non-existent.

A rating of 11/10 means something greatly exceeded my expectations. I didn't say i would not re-watch LOTR. In fact i have re-watched it countless times. What I said was "I never re-watched its episodes TWICE IN A ROW". As in, watch Return of the King (my favorite of the 3) and watch it again right after, which is what I have been doing with TKEM. I watch each new episode three times in a row, first time for the story, second time to get more familiar with the music and third time to watch out for details I might have missed. Check out comments in twitter and other online forums about this show. I am not the only one who love this show. Why is it that others think people only like this show for LMH? LMH is perfect for his role, but so are the other cast members, including Prince Buyeong, Lady Noh and Secretary Mo who greatly impressed me. Every time Lady Noh reads poems, I get goosebumps.

The opening credits alone floored me, with the yellow tree surrounded by pink waves of grain, the lightning, the yellow leaves as seen from the ground, the electrified roots, the flute being cut into two, the view from inside the flute with what look like numbers or runes, and yet it also looked like you're in a space shuttle, etc. And the music perfectly captured the mystery and grandeur of the production, right there and then.

When I saw the coronation scene, I realized this was an epic. The slow-mo reminded me of a similar scene in the British TV series Victoria. I was awed at what I was watching and I thought every Korean must be extremely proud of this show. I couldn't have been more wrong. The controversies about the imperial seal and the temple in the opening credits that was shown for barely a second gutted this whole production to the ground.

What a waste of a beautiful work of art, a masterpiece. Perhaps this is why I became even more passionate about it. The injustice is utterly appalling. An incredible story, exceptional acting, sublime music all unappreciated by SK viewers because some artifacts that were onscreen for probably at most 1% of the time looked Japanese. It truly makes me wonder whether all those talks abut sabotage were true.

in my case, i was just wowed by the whole production, not expecting a kdrama to replace Lord of the Rings in my heart. The story about parallel universe and time travel, with a more swoon-worthy romance, fired up my imagination like no other. Acting was perfect, even the supporting cast like Prince Buyeong, Lady Noh and Secretary Mo were quite impressive. I can't say enough about the music; I listen to the OST practically the whole day and am currently trying to learn If Only, the main background music, on the piano. As for re-watch value, i have been re-watching episodes since april 17. So I put 10 in all.

i have seen a lot of commenters wondering about the amount of negative comments. I said "part of the fun". There is more to enjoy of course, the music and performances, but this addresses the "filling in the holes" bit since there are a lot of negative comments related to that. What I meant with filling in the holes is finding the answers to so-called holes. The answers were presented, some viewers just did not see them.

Reading some of the reviews and there are those who gives 10s on every category in the reviews “acting, music,…
Although I am not one of those who think this show has many flaws, I will attempt to answer for those who do and still gave a 10. There is such a grade as A+. It is better than the best grade the teacher expects to give for a class. A lot of viewers of this masterpiece did not expect a drama this good. I'm one of them. For us, it is an A+ or 11/10 based on expectations of kdramas. But because of a few flaws, they gave it an A, or 10. In my case, I gave Lord of the Rings a 10. But I never re-watched its episodes twice in a row. I have been re-watching TKEM non-stop and not getting tired of it. It is that good.
