Probably the best drama for Song Hye Kyo, but definitely not the best for Park Bo Gum... I really hope to see him in a more demanding (dark maybe?) role soon!
Once again an awesome, insightful article! :D Excellent selection of dramas and visuals, professional justification of the interpersonal relationships you've picked up! Really looking forward to Part 2!!! Another visually stimulating drama that's worth mentioning is "SKY Castle", with lots of visual cues to talk about...
Every single actor is doing a perfect job, but I must admit Kim Seo Hyung with her role in "Come and Hug Me" and now in "SKY Castle" as Coach Kim, she is really becoming an astonishing villainess persona!
I'm glad u liked it!I didn't include hearing problems because I thought most ppl value their hearing and play…
I know that that watching dramas for too many hours cannot lead to eyesight worsening, but can cause dry eyes and infections instead! Even if we play dramas/music on low volume, especially the use of earphones (the ones that we stick in our ears) can cause ear inflammations/infections when shared or not cleaned properly...
Thanks for this interesting, humorous and well-reasoned reminder of not neglecting our real life issues while watching the imaginary lives of others! As some MDLers have already mentioned, I would also add eye-straining problems, as well as ear/hearing problems when using earphones/headphones and, more importantly, that we should spend more time in real world than in drama world!
Better than season 1. More interesting cases, better bonding-chemistry between Miyama and Sada! I still didn't enjoy the puns, but I enjoyed the jokes and their reactions about them more than before. But still the weakest element in both seasons seems to be the characters (and acting?) of the main female leads...
I haven't watched the original to make a comparison, but I have the feeling that there was something missing... Definitely not Kame's best work, I dare say...
Interesting and well-reasoned article! "Vampire Prosecutor" and "Scholar Who Walks the Night" are the only memorable vampire dramas I've watched that had an interesting story and captivating performances, better than many western series I've seen! For me, Charlaine Harris's books and series adaptation of "True Blood", as well as "Moonlight", "Angel" and "Buffy" were way better than Stephenie Meyer's books and movies adaptation of "Twilight"...
Nice article, loved it! I succeeded in converting my mom and my youngest daughter! Now they are both k-drama fans, with their own preferences and fav actors - in fact, my daughter is also a dedicated k-pop fan and just started watching k-dramas and tw-dramas! From time to time, during weekends, we watch some k-dramas with my older daughter and hubby and they enjoy them, but I wouldn't say that I've managed to fully convert them, yet!
Definitely not for everyone! Slow-paced, symbolic, hypnotic and eerie, calm and silent from the outside but volcanic -and not only "burning"- inside, leaving us with more questions than answers to process...
Funny and interesting story and a very good MatcuJun! Loved his deductive ways of finding the truth in every case and his bickering with Sado and Tachibana, but found most of the puns and their characters' eccentricities a bit forced... Definitely watching season 2!
Very thought provoking which is what the writer was going for. A "What would you do?" movie
Exactly! "What would you do?" when faced with community/society's criticism, pressure and inaction and when struggling between family's safety and bystander's empathy... and that ending message, wow!
Very interesting idea, well-fitted choices and beautiful descriptions! Congrats :) I have watched all of them but three, and I totally agree with you on these!
Edited: a correction in this page has already been made!
