Can someone please explain the ending to me because it seemed as if they both are dead. The last shot of them…
haven't watched the express episodes yet but in the novel they both died. azan killed himself and songran died a few years later in a war country. if they followed the novel, then I would assume this is what happened but they probably didn't go into details of their deaths because of censorship
i remember the bird & tree story in the novel but hearing it referenced in the drama definitely foreshadows their future & how much she goes through searching for him when he was lost in the east country. also how much she has to endure through his ptsd phases towards the end.
czy & lj's chemistry is indeed carrying the drama despite the poor script & plotholes. they have some very passionate intimate scenes without actually doing so much. hugs & kiss scenes feel almost nsfw with how naturally intense they come off. that reconciliation scene was actually a sex scene in the novel lol. too bad we couldnt get that in the drama. Anyway i hope hanhao the bl screenwriter loses some unnecessary scenes and focuses on the leads as we get closer to the end. i'd rather not see forced conversations about that damn star when we could be delving deeper into azan's worsened ptsd after the kidnapping, and the appearances of the ghost white olive tree. sidenote: lmao songran saying "I'm actually a nice person. really" was so weirdly funny & it somewhat reminded me of sang zhi in hidden love saying to duan "i can take care of you, really"(she was talking about money here i think). their tone & cadence delivering the lines are so similar
I do like the fact that they focus on other characters but not in that way. I do wish that we had more lead moments.…
no doubts on his portrayal, my whole point was the incompetency within the production crew. but yes he did put so much into the role and cherishes it a lot, the best we can do is support it regardless of flaws :(

portrayal goes to shit when the writing is this mediocre. no matter how much of an excellent job he's doing here, the crew have clearly failed him. rooting for better screenwriters and directors in his future

we definitely have different expectations because "fine" is not the word that comes to mind for how the writing has gone so far unfortunately. then again i did read the novel..
idk mostly im still watching because i waited so long for it, plus the romance is giving what it should give. and czy is czy obviously. i'd watch anything for him

honestly dont hold your breath for any form of logic from this production crew. they've proved time & time again they're unable to deliver.
heard there were 4 directors too so that actually does explain why editing & direction is all over the place. you have 4 different people with 4 different visions forcefully trying to create an end product, this is what we get.
"unexpected cp that got popular", the screenwriter is a known bl producer lol. she literally set out to insert a bl plot, there's nothing unexpected about it. dr pei was used as a beard to pass censorship. probably should have focused less on creating an imaginary bl that didn't exist in the novel and more on actually writing a good script, maybe then we'd have a more realistic-coherent script/dialogue.
wow tff will air on youku & netflix at the same time. global & domestic explosion fr (i dont think youku has ever done simultaneous airing, usually netflix starts airing a few weeks late), meanwhile useless-qiyi cant even distribute their old dramas to viki, let alone netflix/new dramas. that bankruptcy & eventual implosion really needs to happen soon i'm so tired of the platform & their greed. even worse is all their dramas are mediocre too so like what are you hoarding??
still having major flashbacks to cnetz saying it was gonna be tff vs twot competition-airing in feb, like imagine if that happened the humiliation would have been terrible my god. i really just hope twot has taught czy a valuable lesson on what happens when you leave your career in the hands of fraud-qiyi and/or gramarie. he needs to end both contracts soon and regroup before its too late
