when I read the novel I tried to match Lin yujing appearance with several Chinese actresses, these sum of Chinese actresses for me are having the most similar appearance to Lin yujing. But then as I read the novel, I had a mental breakdown lmaoo as weird as it sounds, because it was so hard too picture any one of them as Lin yujing, cause Lin yujing has that interesting temperament. She's a loner, but not a total loner she still has sum friends, she is ill tempered but never really show it most of the time she wears that poker face so no one knows " the real her " untill she met Shen Juan, she is feminine but also abit of boyish. Shen Juan said it himself that, Lin yujing surprised him in so many ways, she is so unpredictable. and not one of them ( Chinese actresses ) seem to get that aura.
but then when they announced Sabrina as Lin yujing ( believe it or not) , i could immediately see her as Lin yujing. her heights, the dimples, her temperament, even the way she walks are how i imagine Lin yujing would be. after she announced as Lin yujing i cannot see anyone as Lin yujing no more other than her.
i love both couple from WIFTY and EFT, both are cute. but both give a definitely diff vibes from you are desire vibes..where in WIFTY and EFT both characters are pretty comical, and in you are desire, characters are feel more of like real people. you most likely will meet this characters in rl...for example the trio, Wang yiyang, Shen Juan, and He songnan are how a trio should be. The silly one, the serious one, and the sensible one. so far yes, I like this couple more cause I love the maturity and melancholic vibes they gave me. probably because it is more like my cup of tea.
and also I want to see at least once in cdrama world where the FL is the quiet one not the hyper one. introverted and not extroverted, you don't have to be extroverted to be likeable..and also I feel like Lin yujing is one of the best introverted FL ever written. quiet doesn't mean you don't have any friends, you just don't talk much. I can relate to her in so many possible ways

not to mention the leads chemistry, sighh they're adorable and I want to hug them so badly. the mutual understanding from the get go💞 how Lin yujing being protective over Shen Juan and Shen Juan over Lin yujing. they always tried to understand each other, I love how Shen Juan always says sorry first, I love how Lin yujing always tried to cheer him up.
they indeed changed some of the plots, but not really, they didn't change the main plot so it's not a big deal. the novel is focusing more on Shen Juan and Lin yujing's relationship, there's a minim friendship bond in novel version, almost none even. they even barely mentioning about Wang Yiyang or He songnan or gu xia or Xu ruyi or Li lin and even Fu mingxiu. in novel version there was no friendship development between all the characters, most of the times i even feel like they're not even exist. the writer just wrote them to make the leads to at least have sum friends. but in drama version we so far have enough of everything. the support roles doesn't take much of the screen, but there's enough of it. enough of alone scene with Shen Juan and Lin yujing and enough screen for the friendship bond.
most of coming of age dramas I've watched, I rarely seen any friendship bond between the FL and ML's friends. ykno like them being friends and being silly, but that's it, they're just friends, and not one of ML 's friends would fall for the FL ( so no love triangle). most of the time the only guy FL in any coming of age dramas to talk to is The ML or maybe an SML if there's a love triangle lol.
and I love how they developing the siblinghood between Lin yujing and Fu mingxiu, in novel version they're relationship did get better but after The FL's mom takes her back, Lin yujing never talked to Fu mingxiu anymore,but they meet again when Lin yujing went to College, but he only appeared for a moment and that's it. but in drama version they dig deeper of Lin Yujing and fu mingxiu siblings moment.
believe it or not, I've never watched an ongoing drama before. i always wait for it till it gets completed, never wrote a review either. but theres something about this drama that keeps pulling me in, it's like a magnet. the subs is sooo bad, but I can't look away. I promise you this is a non biased comment, I'm very picky with my drama choices, been dropping alot of dramas lately. the only drama I refuse to skip was probably ray of light for this year drama, and probably this drama. i promise you it's not because I like Zhou yiran or zhuang dafei, but purely because I'm enjoying this drama.
there's no dull moment so far, it's relaxing but at the same time engaging. i hope it doesn't get draggy..

but it wasn't angsty, just purely cute moments and I love Shen Juan, he is known as this scary person but diff when he's with Lin yujing, he's so patient with her, even when she left and didn't say anything about it. they have this mutual understanding. Shen Juan was mad simply because Lin yujing didn't say anything, and just left him like that, no goodbye or anything. but later he found that she left him a letter? with poem in it, and she also took one of his school book with his name letter on it.
ever since they got separated, she gets very depressive, and when she can't sleep she would put Shen Juan school book under her pillow, she said she can finally sleep when she does it.
