I didn’t think it was gonna follow the book by having him go back in time a second time. I’m so happy that it did! can’t wait until the next season! I think all in all this season was a great adaptation to the book with interesting divergences to the og source and side characters were much more fleshed out. I did enjoy the character of Khun Yai a little more in the book bc he was more playful and daring. The casting was honestly so great, especially the character of Ming. The acting was also really good although sometimes khun yai’s and jom’s facial expressions seemed a little strange imo and the actor for Robert was probably the weakest of them all but still decent. The production, sets, and clothing design was visually pleasing and the music was used well. It’s honestly crazy how close my imagination while reading the book ended up being accurate to the show? Anyway, one of my top series of this year for sure. Looking forward to maybe more historical/period BL dramas especially after this and the popularity of “To Sir, With Love” from last year! i’ll be a very happy gay.

After several eps, bua is still as useless as ever and the plot is still as nonexistent too. Maybe it’s bc petra nareumit is airing at the same time that this show isn’t doing it for me. It has its charms and i appreciate the lightheartedness but the comedy falls flat and the story isnt interesting enough. There’s no overarching plot or goal and where in the world is the character development. The point of bua time traveling at all is very confusing too. She said that she wants to use the herbal knowledge she learns when she goes back? Herbal specialist and thai traditional medicine specialists still exists and there are schools for those things in the modern day. It wouldn’t be anything knew that no one could learn from a simple google search. And the majority of her help having been her giving them information ab something they already knew but in modern medical speak and just constantly lamenting how she can’t do anything w/o *insert medical tool here* makes me wonder what her point of being there even is. I would still somewhat recommend cause it has its charm and somehow managed to keep my attention until now despite it being the way that it is. Oh and the straw that broke the camels back? Bua crying after thong in and thong on got whooped cause she couldn’t do anything like always💀

Bua is probably one of the worst most useless FLs i’ve ever come across and im usually a FL defender. I blame it on the confusing and what seems like rushed writing of this show. She’s supposed to be the protagonist but she feels nothing like it.

Great drama, just start it and i promise you you’ll probably get hooked. It never drags for too long or feels like nothing important to the plot is happening. It can get really frustrating at times because of the characters’ actions and feeling like there’s never a moment of rest but thats part of the fun lol. So many characters full of depth. I watched this because it was recommended under story of yanxi palace because people said the female leads are similar in how cunning they are and I don’t regret it. If you loved story of yanxi palace you’ll probably like this too and vice versa.

The thing is, that would be even more annoying to me. There are too many far more important issues with everything that’s going on. I get the whole trust issue thing but if he’s getting this angry to the point of (what looked like) kicking sun dol out of the east palace just because of jealous is really childish and unwarranted imo, especially since they’re not dating. but we’ll see how they deal w the next ep. Promos can be misleading sometimes lol

Yep same I think he did love Jae Yi if not romantic then probably brotherly love but was just caught up in the scheme of the people/person doing all of this and they probably forced him to make that confession too

true it could’ve just been her hallucinating from the incense and now that i think about it the flowers at the end of the episode kind of look like dried poppy flowers so i think you’re right. i also don’t know about the white hair? maybe marie antoinette syndrome or something lol😅

Im also confused ab that!! i thought the last few eps like the investigation of the blood dripping from the crown princes hand was trying to show us that all the magical stuff like the ghost letter probably isn’t real and it’s the work of people. but the scene with the shaman doing a ritual makes it look like supernatural things do actually happen in this world?

please don’t tell me the crown prince is gonna get all mad because of that suicide letter. we don’t know the full contents yet but if he stops trusting her simply because the letter implies that they were lovers, that would be so stupid. He knows there is a whole conspiracy behind the ghost letter, the min family assassinations, and the cardinal point case but it doesn’t cross his mind that that suicide and letter was part of it or could be faked? One thing I would find interesting though and would subvert my expectations is if min jae yi wasn’t completely innocent and kind of manipulating or lying to the crown prince (about something that actually matters not that petty love affair stuff). we know she’s smart so i wouldn’t mind seeing her being crafty or cunning in some way. but i don’t think that’ll happen and we’re probably just gonna have to deal with a boring “conflict caused by a dumb misunderstanding” episode.

ive been in skip city for the past few eps and that’s never a good sign.

The fighting scenes in this show are so good. especially liked that ceiling shot from inside the house.

I was skeptical cause I didn’t like the promotional trailer for this or enchanté but this looks promising. I’m a sucker for stoic tsundere types in drama and it’s nice when it’s contrasted by someone who is basically the complete opposite. but i really hope they don’t have book overdoing it to the point of being annoying. the plot seems simple so i expect this drama to at least be decent but so was the plot of enchanté soo… :/. anyways i’m still hoping gmmtv keeps up this recent good bl streak but don’t tell anyone.

They were rude and sarcastic unprovoked, I have no obligation to be kind to them. I’m not really sure what you mean by what you said after though? I’m not saying the show is unrealistic im saying the fathers death is “real” in the context of the drama and so Johnnys apathy towards what Hai Yi must be going through (plus his immature behavior) is what I have an issue with and it’s made me like his character less.
