It was because of the synopsis for me. It says they have “spent the past few years in relative bliss.” and “Living together, they’ve been able to support each other as they learn to navigate the ups and downs of their adult life.” which makes it sound like they’ve been together for a while. The timeline was also not making sense to me cause they were still in college so I just assumed the last season was his first year and he’s now in his last year. This only being a couple months after makes much more sense

Why does hira still act the way he does? it doesn’t make sense considering the argument scene in last seasons finale. like i thought the whole point of that scene was so hira finally understands that kiyoi isn’t some untouchable god, kiyoi is just a regular guy who loves hira and wants to be his boyfriend not an idol he worships. This starts a couple of years after that scene (i think?) so the dynamics of their relationship should’ve at least changed somewhat by now but somehow hira still acts like kiyois obsessive fan but also obedient servant? but it doesn’t make sense at all cause that’s literally your man hira?? like he goes home to you and y’all sleep together and brush your teeth together and cook dinner for each other and go out together and all that??? Hopefully by the end of this season we’ll finally get character progression on that part.

well a lot of people do have a problem with the couples you just mentioned lol. Not saying this situation is the same but the couples you mentioned are worse than this one in terms of age gap considering with all the ships you mentioned the younger party was underage when they began filming or promoting. Also bringing up the age of consent doesn’t matter here because that has to do with sexual activities. there’s a difference between age of consent (age where you are legally able to consent to sexual activity) and age of majority ( the age in which you are legally considered an adult). The age of majority in thailand is 20 years old.

This makes so much fucking sense. It was all an elaborate plan to take down the queen dowager. They knew she would make hasty moves after the king fell ill with the confidence that the monk gave her and they know they can use that to accuse her of treason and finally get rid of her but also the treacherous ministers and officials that took her side. But i don’t think it’s gonna be that easy because that sly eunuch sent someone to follow siwol so I bet she will discover his true identity too. I’m also scared for tonggeum😭 We saw more of the bamboo grove village this episode so maybe in the next few episodes that place is gonna play a bigger role. The queen dowager might attempt to expose consort park using them since tonggeum was never able to warn them to leave. And consort park being pregnant??? lord i’m gagged! Can someone recommend sageuks that are similar to this? I’ve watched all the dramas in the recommendation section and, although i still enjoyed all the dramas listed, none of them are actually all that similar to bloody heart. The court politics, character writing and development, suspense, cinematography, and more are simply unmatched. The red sleeve comes close but the romance element was too front and center which isn’t what i’m looking for.

Yeah i find it weird as well that it took until this ep for him to become aware of/suspect the monk.

2. I agree it’s so weird, but i don’t think it’s necessarily a plot hole, more like plot armor. Maybe they don’t kill him because he has dirt on many people in the palace and could spill it all if threatened. idk💀
3. There are two big reasons why they don’t punish the queen dowager. First is that the position of queen dowager holds a lot of power and authority, in some things it’s even equal to that of the kings’ as the kings mother. They would never dare to punish her in the absence and without the permission of the king. Even the king has been hesitant to punish her in past episodes so that he doesn’t break filial piety. Second is that her and councilor park are the only reason a lot of them are officials to begin with. They can’t punish her out of loyalty and without councilor parks permission.
4. That’s a personal opinion i guess. I didn’t think it’s filler at all, i think it’s just showing us a little taste of the monks’ backstory and setting up something to come in a future episode. I don’t think this is the last we’ll see of his father.

I knew the queen dowager would be a shit stirrer and i’m so here for it! But if her reasoning for wanting to bring Joseon down is simply because of Councilor Park, i feel like that’s really weak and lazy. The monk is still a wild card, i don’t know how to feel about him but he adds a lot of suspense and mystery and excitement. I thought that the king falling ill after the monk was chanting was confirmation of the drama having a supernatural aspect but they said he was poisoned so maybe it’s not? however that still doesn’t explain the sudden rain and the mysterious manner in which the king was poisoned.

Thats the best part ab this show. None of the characters are two dimensional/stock characters. They all have their “good” sides and “bad” sides just like normal people.

You definitely should! Although the stories are very different (except for basketball playing a role) the cinematography and color scheme is really similar. Hope you enjoy!
