That scene was amazing I had goosebumps and I definitely agree. I think she did have selfish reasons like @jjlew mentioned but I also think the whole thing about her wanting to protect the court ladies under her care was not a lie and she truly did care for them.

A lot of people are saying very spoiler-y things in the comments about the end of the drama and not clicking the spoiler warning button for some reason… anyone who hasn’t read the novel (like me) be careful while scrolling in the comments.

The depth of each character in this show is so refreshing to see. Finally no unnecessarily evil antagonists or one that is evil for shallow/stupid reasons. Honestly there really isn’t any “antagonist”. Everyone has their own reason for doing what they do and those reasons make sense. I’m really loving this drama. Anyone who is still questioning whether they should watch this or not, give it a try!

Will it be worth waiting week to week or should I wait until it’s finished? I don’t mind waiting week to week and in some cases I even prefer it. If you get what I mean please let me know if this is one of those dramas that are better to wait for weekly as opposed to binging?

My whole issue with the premise of boys over flowers is how do they expect us to end up liking the boys? They are bottom tier trash and no amount of redemption arc can really fix that. At least not for me. Maybe Ren is an exception but I don’t necessarily like him either. And who’s gonna tell Thyme that Mira did him a favor by ruining those god awful shoes. Thyme’s mothers acting is amazing like okay cruella de vil😍

Nice seeing the lives of palace maids and court ladies for a change. I’ve always wondered what it’s like.

I felt that way too but then I put myself in Aoki’s shoes and remembered just how insecure he is. He still didn’t know how Ida felt about him and he probably was leaning towards thinking Ida might not actually really like him. I understand why he would feel that Ida was just playing with his feelings. He probably felt embarrassed as well and felt like he was the only one who’s feelings were so out of control because of Ida while Ida seemed just fine and even somewhat indifferent. Imagine being in a relationship that’s basically just a test of whether the other person likes you or not instead of already established mutual attraction and affection.

Anyone else catch themselves smiling goofily everytime you watch this show? My cheeks hurt😂

No one isn’t “allowed” to do anything but acting like liking someone that was literally involved in sex crimes is okay is quite frankly disgusting. This isn’t the typical “oh he was just caught with weed”, sex crimes are serious and should be treated as such. Anyone who continues to support people like that are amoral imo.

I agree w what people are saying about Ha Neul, although she didn’t deserve what Mi Jin did to her. Also I disklike Ho In. Idk why people are shipping him w Ae Jin. He’s bottom of the barrel trash and also very fucking weird. Like goosebumps weird.

Went into this thinking it would be something like true beauty with a less than satisfactory critique on lookism and societies relationship with beauty but I’m pleasantly surprised at the direction that it took.
