Uh, i can tell you that Ren Jialun and Tan Songyun was actually pretty underrated, therefore the rating was pretty…
I understand your point, and I agree with some of them. I have seen plenty of dramas where the characters are portrayed better. I’m not really talking about equality bc you don’t really get those in any drama sir shows, East or West, I’m just talking about how plot and characters are written and executed onscreen. It’s not about the subject matter as much as about execution. I think this drama was poorly executed in many ways. Clearly most people disagree, and I’m fine with that, but I’m not sure why my skipping a drama bc I think is poorly executed amounts to a statement on gender equality and a boycott of all dramas. I’ve watched plenty of well-made dramas and enjoyed them. I’m quite certain I’ve watched more dramas then the average person although I’m not sure that should be anything to be proud of (lol) since that means I haven’t been productive with my time. Hah~
You should have included all the dramas that you see that has the same premise as this one for you to call it…
Anti to what? It’s my honest rating so call it what you like. And if you read my review you’ll see I’m not complaining about the basic story premise but the storytelling - not sure if you understand what that is, the direction, writing and unoriginal dialogue. I watched half and it was terrible enough that I couldn’t continue so that’s what my rating is based on. You can rate it however you like but don’t try to judge my personal opinion or how I subjectively view something. As I mentioned to the other commenter, I can respect other’s differences in opinion, maybe you should learn to also.
i have never seen a drama where the ML and FL kiss each other this much. LOL. I'm not complaining for sure. heheh.
Right? And they’re always holding hands and sitting way too close to each other~ This couple is so sweet and it’s great to see a super connected sweet couple who are openly affectionate with no crazy drama for once.
I just read about her mom. OMG. I feel so terrible for her and how she must have felt when she was shooting Go Ahead.
For those of you who don’t know, her mom (and two other of her friends) was killed two years ago by a drunk driver in a hit and run. He recently got sentenced to only 6 years in prison, and the asshole’s family complained that the only thing that happened was that the victims lost family members and they’re gone anyway but their son will spend New Year’s in prison. Seven Tan has been at the trial and sentencing and gave statements each time that neither the perpetrator or his family never apologized. Apparently it’s some high government official with money. WTF.
After reading this, her scenes in Go Ahead just touch me so much deeper. I feel so sad for Tan Songyun. I hope she finds peace and is successful.
After reading all the comments I think I’ll skip this one. Watched two episodes and the ML is such a terrible actor, maybe he gets better but I was here for Seven Tan and it doesn’t seem like her best role so moving on to her greater and better dramas. Think I’ll check out Go Ahead.
I feel like they can easily do a Season 2 - focusing on the other cast members, like where did Rushang come from and learn about poison and what happens to Commander Fu and the Princess? So many ways to explore this drama more. More than that, I’d love to see the ML and the FL again! Maybe getting married and having kids. It wasn’t clear to me at the end whether they were married. I assume so since he tells Fu Yen to call her Mrs. Qi Wang~
Is it just me or are they ramping up the release of the BTS and CP scenes? I remember that when the drama started…
I agree! You can also tell from the bts comparison between the two. I mean both are good but her chemistry with ZLH is on another level natural. It’s awesome to watch!
i would love to see all of the main casts in another drama. their chemistry is off charts and would love to see…
I agree. It’s hard to find a cast with so much natural repoire and chemistry. Normally maybe just the FL and ML but here, the ML and FL chemistry is off the charts and the rest are just as amazing! Maybe it’s because the production and cast seem contained, I don’t know what magic but it’s awesome to watch!

I respect the difference in our opinion. I just don’t know why I need to push through an otherwise terrible story just to get to a few cute tidbits between the ML and FL. That’s not what makes a good drama for me. A good drama should have a good, well-paced story with good dialogue and character development. Of course, this is on the director and writer mostly so no fault on the actors. But the FL doesn’t really change, the ML does but not by much. 55 episode drag with little to sustain it in terms of quality - this drama is way overrated in my opinion.
Worst drama ever. The FL is so incompetent. She can’t seem to do anything without the ML. I mean, she has a gun but she can’t shoot anything to save her life. Literally. And her alleged “skills” as an investigator is overshadowed by the constant reminder that she is not as smart or competent as the ML who is always a step ahead of her. Can dramas AT LEAST have FL with brains who are good at their job? Why does she ALWAYS have to be saved by the ML??
Also, why this constant romanticizing of assholes in dramas. The ML is an asshole. Mean and cold and degrading to the FL. Constantly. Yet, somehow the one second he acts like a normal human being it’s supposed to be romantic? Do we all have Stockholm Syndrome? It seems like the FL certainly does.
And the story is boring, cliched, and unoriginal. The production value and plot is so terrible and filled with gaps that I can’t even begin to know where it starts.
I started this drama because I was misled by the high ratings. I think the ratings must have been raised by the ML and FL’s fans. There can be no reason for it. If I could, I would give it an overall rating of 1. I’m just shocked that such terrible C-dramas still exist.
This looks sad. Especially if historical. Sun Yi needs to do a romantic comedy. She’s such a great actress and they keep casting her in these sad roles ?
This prince is a bit of a player... he is not a perfect gentleman! Yeah!
He is! He definitely has game! I agree, I love it too! And the actor plays that so well! So refreshing! A smart, handsome war hero prince doesn’t always have to be super stiff and be “noble” whatever that means!
