I really enjoy watching him act and develop as an actor. He doesn’t make a lot of dramas and I think he’s selective, balancing dramas and movies. He is so young with a lot of potential so I look forward to all that comes out

Was gonna watch him until I saw he has a romance role with a f 15 yr old??? What the f is this pedophilic shit…
Chinese dramas and movies tend to shoot actors near the same age. I don’t know when the drama you are referring to was shot but since he is only 22 now he may have shot it when he was also quite young even if it is delayed in airing.

Also, I agree with the other comments. He’s an actor. The roles he takes on doesn’t reflect anything personal about him. We should separate actors from their job and personal life, and not speak badly of someone who is just starting out on his career with negative comments like this. Perhaps you are just doing it to get responses and attention but it’s in bad taste. Just my personal opinion. I wish him well and all the best in his career.

Can’t believe Maiden Holmes is his first drama. He’s doing such a great job so far! I hope the drama does well and has good ratings. Looking forward to his upcoming projects!

He is definitely aging well. One of few leading men who just seems to get better with time ?

Is her acting really that good or does she have a backer? She didn't even go to a film college... Why is her credit…
No hate but I had the same question. She’s so young, no formal training but she lands all these big FL roles. Most young actresses are highly scrutinized when they get big roles like this but she seems fine. Also, her behavior on set seems quite unrestricted which is rare to see among young actors. I’m not judging or criticizing. I’m just curious why she (over anyone else) is such a beloved darling.

You can say she only gets the web drama roles or that she works hard but I’m sure other young actresses work very hard too. I mean, look at her filmography in 3 years! Compared to other newbie actors (even Ryan Ding or his Female costar in Just an Encore), it’s a big difference. Even to get casted in web series is a big deal if you’re starting out with no connections in the industry. Not every hard working newbie actress can get them. So I think it’s a reasonable question. Just curious. I know no one knows the answer, just wondering that’s all.

I have no problem with actors who work together regularly, especially if they have amazing chemistry together. Xu Kai and Bai Lu undeniably have great chemistry. They’ve only been in two projects together and both were huge success and I think their chemistry as actors helped. I don’t see a problem.

One of India’s most famous actor couples Shahrukh Khan and Kajol made dozens of movies together bc of their amazing chemistry and no one ever thought they couldn’t act with other actors because of this. They have and those have been just as popular. Likewise, in Hollywood certain actors like Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence have started together more than once bc of their great chemistry. Same with Doris Day and Rock Hudson from years ago.

Why should fans be deprived of great acting pairs. Pairs with such amazing on-screen chemistry don’t come often. It’s a rarity. They should cultivate that instead of trying to pretend it doesn’t exist. Forcing great acting pairs apart won’t do either actors any good. Example? Vin Zhang and Dilaraba. Great chemistry but they decided let’s try them with other pairs.

They’re ok with others but you just don’t get the elevated level of acting when they just have that natural “je ne sais pas” onscreen. I’m very disappointed that Xu Kai and Bai Lu don’t have any new upcoming projects. More sad bc the producer said he wouldn’t succumb to fan pressure and would keep the pair.

See! How can a drama like this get 8.0 and a drama like Mystic Pop-up Bar get 8.7??? It’s crazy! To me, this is one of the most underrated dramas. The acting by the whole cast is great (I mean, shin min ah, lee joon gi, yoo seung ho??) but the story is fantastic! You have to watch it a couple of times to catch all the plot twists between the gods. Once you figure it out... trust me - mind blown. It’s like the story is a jig saw puzzle and to get the whole picture at the end you had to have collected all the small pieces throughout. Fantastic!! Of course, even if you don’t get all the twists the story itself is great enough to watch. It’s just so much more amazing when you get what the gods (or god I should say since it was just one of them) set up. ?

I will never understand these ratings. For me, this drama is just not great. AND the overacting by FL. I loved her in a lot of dramas but her overdramatized loud acting style is hard to digest in this drama. I love the cast independently! But this drama.... so disappointing. The scenes are poorly executed and the dialogue is cliche. I blame the writer and the director. I was looking for to the FL coming back to dramas after so long.... This drama is just hard to digest.

I can't finish the first episode and I've tried it 3 times. the story didn't captivate me enough to keep watching.…
You’re entitled to your opinion and appreciate you expressing them. These forums can’t all be only about raving good things about a drama - some people really want honest opinions. I do, that’s why I come here to check the opinions before I watch something. I agree, I thought the drama was boring. I like IU and the ML but the plot fell for me. If you didn’t like the main actors then yeah I wouldn’t be able to get past ep 1 either.

Another drama that is very pretty to watch with good actors.... but the plot and the dialogue bit so much. My fave part of this drama is all of IU’s outfits. So beautiful. And Yeo Jin Gu is always fun to watch as an actor. BUT... the Hong sisters need to come up with something newer, Kdramas are running out of ideas I think. It was a bit boring.

The best drama i've ever seenAnd the female lead i wish that she become more famous and has a lot of dramas she…
The FL is actually VERY famous. She started out making movies and she is more of a A-list movie actor in Korea and has been for a while. That’s why you don’t see her in dramas that often. She’s that big. She only just started doing dramas. Her status as a movie actor is why she’s paired with big names like Gong Yoo and Lee Minho.

I don't want to troll many fans, just my opinion. There is really not much going on in episodes 2-10 before plot…
Couldn’t agree more. And I LOVE the FL in other projects.... she just was way to whiny and loud here for me.
