No wonder I loved POJ. I’ve loved almost all of this director’s previous projects! Absolutely loved Blossom, Butterflied Lovers, A Familiar Stranger, Provoke and Destined to Meet You. I’m definitely a fan of this guy. I’ll have to watch for his other works.
anyone else rewatching from the beginning? I LOVE catching on to things i didnt notice before AND watching their…
Me! I feel like I’m catching a lot of stuff that I didn’t notice before. In some parts I even turn off the subtitles so I can focus on the scene. I’ve not rewatched a drama so fully like this in a long time so it’s nice. Of course, I think the rewatch value drops significantly after Ep 30 but it’s still good and I just speed past the QM craziness.
This is random but I think her butcher knives that her dad called their family “heirloom” was forged from his sphere tip. That’s why Xie Zheng was looking at it so carefully because it seemed more like military grade than kitchen knife material. I also think he later melted both knives down to make the two swords for FCY so that she could keep her family heirloom after one of the knives broke during her fight with Shu Yue.
Quick question, at the end of the drama did it mean they are now living in Lin An permenantly? I'm just thinking…
In the novel, he acts as Prince Regent for 4 years then they move back to Lin’an. Based on how they are dressed at the very end I think they are still living in the Capital and was visiting the Zhaos for New Years. That’s how I took it.
Okay I hate Sui Yuan Qing period, he has no redeeming qualities as a human being but his last scene with Qi Min…
I agree with your feelings for SYQ but I liked that they made him more human. Not all villains have to be black and white and I think it’s more realistic the way they depicted him.
I am a firm believer of criticizing a drama if you see fit. But this whole "the show promotes 2nd couple on…
I didn’t think they were a “couple.” It was actually pretty terrifying what she had to do to survive and keep her son safe. I agree we didn’t need as many scenes of Qi Min (we get it, he’s crazy) but it wasn’t like a romance story for me so it was ok
By the way, is Qian Qian supposed to be from the future? In the later episodes when she says she from a “far far far away place” it seemed to hint that she wasn’t from that time. Also her knowledge of CPR and cavities make me think she’s from the future.
Random point but despite what the uncle says later about how the marriage is not legit because they didn’t have a matchmaker or exchanged betrothal gifts they had both! Mrs Zhao was the town’s matchmaker and they did exchange gifts: she got him the blue head ribbon and he got her the hairpin back. And they bowed to her parents memorial tablets so I think it counts.
Lesson learned from POJ: In this drama, you will always survive when you fall off anything, be it a 5000 meter cliff or up high on a stone fort and land directly on your skull. You will never die
I think the confession scene in episode 36 after XZ gets beaten is my fave scene of the entire drama. I feel like…
I liked that you get his perspective. I mean we know he loves her but to hear his view on how he basically meted his cold heart was very sincere and touching
