Replying to Bowties are cool Nov 5, 2020
Is there like a template that scriptwriters use for a show like this. Cold male 'god' and naive, clumsy, dumb,…
Right? My thoughts exactly. I don’t get it. If they look at dramas that have been phenomenally successful recently they all break from this mold. Surely a few decades of this retelling is enough?

On You Are So Sweet Nov 5, 2020
The never-ending retelling of the cold and mean guy and the sweet and innocent ( down on her luck, not as smart) young girl. Of course the 2ML will be the perfect sweetheart but for reasons known only to drama writers she’ll end up with the mean ML. I wish writers will give up this genre and move onto something more creative.

Is the messy eating that FL does a requirement for the role? Every single drama I have seen her in she is messy…
Omg I agree!! I like her but WHY WHY WHY must they have her eat like that?? Do they think it’s cute?? It’s such a turnoff

This drama was definitely filmed after I've Fallen For You as the filming for this drama started last September…
I did, and love him in that drama. He was good in Chang’an Youth but the story wasn’t good there

I agree, I feel like they wrote this drama just bc fans wanted to see the ML and FL again after Yun Xi. They didn’t do much else for the 2ML. Liu Yi Chang is a good actor and he is wasted here

seriously why it's so hard to find sub for thai dramas from CH3 :(i kinda wish they'd add more series on netflix…
I totally agree! I know kdramas and CDramas are popular but damn Thai dramas are so underrated! They’re so good and many times much more open about topics that are usually taboo in other countries like mental illness, LGBT issues, etc. They really don’t get the love they deserve. So many on YT that I want to watch but no Eng subs. The only way Viki or Netflix adds them is if they become popular with international fans like Kdramas did years ago. But Kdramas first started through fab subs and YouTube. I hope someone who speaks Thai and English can sub some Thai lakorns. Almost makes me think I should learn Thai. In the meantime, there are surprisingly good number of Eng Subbed dramas on Dailymotion. You can cast it to your tv too and the quality is better than dramacool or sites like that.

The premise to this drama seems a bit crazy, she tries to trap him in bed with her??? I hope this isn’t the true story synopsis, these can be wrong sometimes so... but then again, it IS a lakorn...

Unrelated: i read it somewhere mark prin is 6th top paid actor in thailand i was shocked he isnt #1 . i thought…
There are many others like Mario Maurer, James Jirayu, Nadech, Push Puttichai, etc. It’s just that Kleun Cheewit was such a HUGE hit both in Thailand and overseas I think it’s easy to assume Mark is top. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big Mark fan but there are many super popular and good actors and other super popular lakorns that we don’t get access to so it’s easy to not know. I recommend checking out other Thai dramas, you can find them with subs if you google.

It’s not confirmed that they are dating in real life. They are koojin so I feel like they are pressured to be…
I think the fans REALLY want them to date so it’s easy to be confused about it. I had to search everywhere to see if it was legit and it’s not confirmed. I only checked bc I like Yaya and follow her on IG but rarely see her even hint at a relationship, not even on Valentine’s Day or Christmas or any holiday so that’s why I had to check.

Just started watching this and what the heck, it’s just like the Legend of Yun Xi.i knew the actors are the same but the characters and situation is pretty much the same. The ML looks and acts the same and he’s once again a prince who is a bit of a prick. Ugh, seems like a fan service drama. Disappointed.

One of my new fave actors. Been binging on his dramas and it’s like WTF! He’s super handsome, has a killer smile, a hot body, AND he can act! His dramas are all good and his chemistry with his FL are all fire (it’s his very expressive eyes - the way he looks at them... where’s my flame emoji!) And he has great range! He seems like a totally different person in The Fallen Leaves, Stairway to Stardom, Waen Dok Mai, I Wanna Be A Sup’Tar, Ugly Duckling, Game Maya, Happy Birthday, etc.

Then, I come to find out he is just a super nice, cool, good guy who just adores his wife. Like he LOVES his wife and it’s super cute to watch (I never get jealous about stars but damn... does he make me come close). It’s like his favorite things to do are exercise (how many marathons has he run??? - yes, I’ve been IG stalking him), travel, work, eat, watch his wife cook, eat what his wife cooks, and give her bunches of kisses when she cooks. And hangs out with kids and puppies in his spare time. Like, WTH??

Why aren’t there more of him? He seems perfect! So, until god finds me another him, I’m just going to keep watching his dramas. By the way, for those who just want to know - he looks super hottest in I Wanna Be a Sup’Tar... I think it’s the many many tank tops and shirtless scenes.... ;)

I really like seeing them on screen together, but I would also love to see them with other people as well. I know…
It’s not confirmed that they are dating in real life. They are koojin so I feel like they are pressured to be partnered but they haven’t willingly volunteered that they are dating, unlike Mark and Kimmie

I know this is an unpopular opinion but please respect that this is just my personal opinion: Yaya needs to stop being paired with Nadech. I mean it was cute and they’re koojin and all but I feel like it’s somewhat pushed on the audience. It’s not like Mark and Kimmie where it’s natural. I just want to see them with totally different partners and not with each other anymore. Maybe I love my girl too much~

Push was the highlight of this drama. I mean seriously, he really made this drama. The FL was not very likable to me. She was too incompetent and delusional. She kept saying she wants to be famous but didn’t want to put any effort into learning to act or do things to make herself better, even when Win was teaching her. She just wanted to be a “superstar” and be famous.

She was also an idiot and did not have good judgment. It wasn’t that she was too “naive” she was just dumb. She kept trusting the wrong people and not trusting and being grateful for people who actually helped her multiple times (like Win). She never seemed to learn from her mistakes and just kept making them over and over again and Win, MeeDee, Lupkit kept having to save her from her own problems that she created. If not for Win, she wouldn’t have a house, if not for MeeDee I swear she’s starve to death. And she wasn’t particularly grateful - she just kept talking about oh boo hoo me I’m trying so hard you should take pity on me. Like, that’s super annoying. Why was she so helpless that she as a burden on everyone else. It’s almost hard to believe Win would fall for a girl like that.

The best part is this drama was Push and their scenes in Phuket (ep16-17) and some sweetness after in 18 and 19. The rest of the episodes were frustrating. Especially towards the end, the FL was erratic, moody and just hard to watch. And there were less and less scene with Push and too much time wasted on the support stories.

Title I Wanna Be Sup'Tar Spoiler
The ending just wasn’t very satisfying. So did Win get back his superstar status and all his modeling gigs? It seemed to imply that he did because the movie wanted him back as the lead. So was it cleared up that he isn’t gay since the thing about his video clips came up at the end when WanWan got arrested? What about his retirement from the entertainment world? Did that get cleared up too since LutPik mentioned it in front of the reporters when they arrested WanWan? So Win and WanNeung are back to living together at the end, but why are they in separate beds? So media doesn’t have a problem with Win and WanNeung living together now? Do they know they are dating? I’m glad the bad guys got what they deserve - finally but I didn’t like the koojin pairing with WanNeung and guy and not enough time spent on Win’s return and them getting together at the end.

I have to agree with some others that the ending wasn’t very satisfying. They had all the time in the world and they could have done much better with the ML and FL. I’ll leave my detailed ending rant under Spoiler mark.

I feel like this director tends to be really slow in the beginning and has a lot of side stories with support cast and not a lot of screen time for the ML and the FL. Then the middle gets much better with the pacing until we come to the last few episodes where things are confused and ML and FL time is limited. Then the ending is rushed for NO REASON AT ALL, and squished so it never feels satisfying. This director did Waen Dok Mai and Fallen Leaves with Push and they all have this same pattern. Like, why is he like this??
