Quick question did CQ's sisters die in episode 30? And does anyone know how or are we the fans supposed to…
No, they didn't die. They showed them reuniting with Chu Qiao after she was rescued by Lady Yu from being cremated. It's in Episode 27(uncut version) when YX asks CQ how she escaped, it's in a flashback.
VENTING!!!! I just saw the preview for Monday and I am so frustrated and irritated!! Yet again YWY is trying to…
I wish CQ would soften up a bit. YWY is really the most soft-hearted and loving out of all the characters. He ironically has the nickname of being Mr. Cold but it's like his grandfather has said, YWY is soft and sensitive inside. He's shown it in his dealings with everyone around him that he cares about. The fact that he tells the Prince Xiang that he is ok just watching her even if she loves someone else really is really touching. I guess given what we see of YWY and what he is thinking, and not knowing really what CQ is thinking (she has no real mirror character in the show to reflect to us her thoughts) is frustrating I think.
Another long wait for Monday! I feel like these people are trying to kill us putting up a preview with YWY and CQ now and slotting the episode for after the weekend. What??
Don't know whether the banter between CQ and YY is more amusing or the banter between CQ and XC. Also, the…
I know YWY and CQ are the endgame. I mean, they shot an ad together, appeared in Cosmo Brides together (they look beautiful in that spread by the way), and they're both huge stars and the drama was billed as the two being a couple but I think the frustration is coming from the lack of something more sweet from Chu Qiao. I know her character has gone thru some tough times and has been hardened, and I think YWY appreciates that about her, but I just wish she'd put her guard down once in a while, at least for us viewers to see that she does care about YWY. It might be the way the drama is executed as versus what ZLY is doing but could use a little sugar given all the vinegar we had since Episode 23.
there is still no eng sub for ep 37 and 38. I'm dying to understand what happens. guess i have to wait till…
Yeah, it's normally out by this time but it's not. I guess it's delayed. I've been waiting all night for it... :( Ep 37 looked so good, lots happening and being discussed between the 7th Prince and Yuwen Yue about Chu Qiao just based on the bit that I could glean from it. Sad... All around sad "Princess Agents" day for me...

Yeah, he was not that mean to her. Despite the house rules, he broke the rules many times and went against his usual self to look out for Xing'er. Yeah, he's a rather non-expressive and cold guy with the arrogance of a rich lord so I'm sure he didn't say the nicest things to her. But at least he did care and took care of Xing'er, even when she lied to him to his face and took advantage of his affection for her (i.e., when she cried those tears to have him help her and her sisters regarding Ms. Song's drowning - he knew he was being taken advantage of but did it anyway). But here, I don't even know if Chu Qiao really even cares about Yuwen Yue. I hear from folks who read the book that the person she really loves is Yuwen Yue and just realizes it later. Maybe the drama is just not depicting that well enough? So far I thought they've done a great job with the details so I wonder about that. Well anyway, it's getting a bit sad to watch at times...

Yuwen Yue was barely in Ep. 38. And maybe you're right, maybe she doesn't really know what to do with him, what to do with his confession - he basically all but said that he loves her - and maybe she doesn't know what she feels? I don't know. I watched it without the subs but could catch a few words. And the previews for Eps 39 and 40, Yuan Song describes what it feels like to love someone, and her reaction was like, that seems more like a sickness and Yuan Song was like, yeah, it is. So maybe she just hasn't felt that way yet? Hopefully? Idk. I just wonder if she really does like Yan Xun and she just ends up settling with Yuwen Yue. That would make me feel so cheated, I don't know why. I guess I'm on the Yuwen Yue ship. Didn't really like him much in the beginning but look how he grew on me!
I am just so loving the new and improved Yuwen Yue! His whole interaction with Chu Qiao in Ep. 36 is awesome!…
moshito Yes! It's like a dance! And they just GET each other. They just looked at each other, and Chu Qiao just grabbed hold of Yuwen Yue's arm and he twirled her around. Total team play!

Yeah it appears that way! I thought the new concubine was evil but I think she may be able to help Chu Qiao! I'm so glad they're back to dropping hints about Chu Qiao.
I love the banter between CQ and YY. YY has developed quite a bit of sass and dry humor during those 3 years on the border, eh? But I do feel bad for him bc I'm starting to wonder if CQ really likes him. She smiles a lot for YX and she's so mean to YY. I wish she'd be a little nicer in the coming episodes. :(
I feel a bit sad for Yuwen Yue, when he says that basically he just wants to see Chu Qiao and be around her, even though he thinks he doesn't have a chance since CQ is with Yan Xun now, and how can he beat the 3 years CQ and YX spent together. But again, I think YX doesn't really know CQ. He gifted her a face cream basically, and she was like, what the hell am I going to do with this? I think she prefers weapons. :)
Omg... there's rumors that Zhao Liying won't film season 2, and Angelababy will replace her as Chu Qiao...
The filming for this is already finished and done. So whatever story they were going to tell is completed and wrapped with this cast and will end at ep 58/68. There are usually talks of a season 2 of a very popular series. Princess Agents is enormously popular right now so that's prob why there are rumors of a season 2. I doubt it will be a continuation of this current story with a different cast. I'm sure it's more like "continuation" from where ever the story ends here or from parts from the novel they left out. There's no way they could have anticipated this amount of success when they first filmed this series so even if there is a season 2 "continuation" it won't be as a result of this series being incomplete. This series is already complete and is just being aired. It's different than K-dramas which are produced simultaneously as when the episodes air.
I am just so loving the new and improved Yuwen Yue! His whole interaction with Chu Qiao in Ep. 36 is awesome! When he says, "bu fang!" Haha! Love it! He's being pretty open about his feelings to Chu Qiao, I mean as open and obvious as can be. She clearly wants to try to ignore it and pretend that he doesn't care, like "since when were you so caring," and his reply, "I've always been this way, you only just now realize?" I love the banter. Hah~ and how she gets so annoyed with him that she kicks the guy already knocked out on the ground. LOL! They really argue like they're having a lover's quarrel, not at all like she wants to kill him or that he believes she really will. If he keeps it up, me thinks the girl will come around soon.
less than 24 hours till the new episodes!! the weekend waiting is always extremely excruciating for me LOL
Haha~ yeah, I've been rewatching these episodes way too many times I guess. The details in this drama are what I love so much about it. They've been very good about bringing things back around and tying up the ends whenever they've dropped detail crumbs. I hope they don't lose that and keep them coming!
Saw the preview of 37, 38 episode and I'm already in love with Xiao Ce.... he is so cute! Also this show…
Yeah, based on the conversation the concubine is trying to set up Yuwen Yue with the princess. I guess it makes most sense since Yan Xun is technically out, Zhao Xifeng and Wei Guyang(?) are dead and Yuwen Huai has been disfavored. Yuwen Yue is the only one that's still one of the grand families and who recently came back from the border with success and honor. Clearly both the princess and Yuwen Yue hate the match so I wonder how he'd get out of it. I do wish there was something of a love rivalry for Chu Qiao for Yuwen Yue, just a tiny tiny one, just so we can see Chu Qiao get jealous too.
cannot get enough of the scenes b/w xinger and yuwen yue. a maid for one day? why can't you just tell her…
Yeah right? The eng sub isn't out for ep 36 yet but saw the preview. I hope Yuwen Yue finally opens up a bit to Chu Qiao and let her know how he feels so that she starts thinking about her own feelings. This is a great development for Yuwen Yue - even the fact that he explained Linxi's death to her really shows big development for Yuwen Yue who in the past would not have explained his actions to anyone. I really feel like Chu Qiao likes Yuwen Yue deep inside, like she has one of those heart-fluttering moments with Yuwen Yue and really looks at him as a man while with Yan Xun she may like him a lot but I wonder how much of it is simply deep friendship/companionship and sympathy and not she's got the hots for him as a man. These scenes where she is all smiles with him bother me a bit. I think I'm definitely Yue/Xing ship now.
Omg... there's rumors that Zhao Liying won't film season 2, and Angelababy will replace her as Chu Qiao...
Why would there be a season 2? Just based on the clips and the photo stills, as well as the way the story is progressing I feel like they could end the story well within the allotted 58/68 episodes.
Feng Yun Ling is an actual organization because in Chu Qiao's flashback, the woman calls her "Xiao Jiao Zhu" which literally means "little master/owner of organization." Also, when Yuwen Yue was talking about the Feng Yun Ling he called Luo He the "Jiao Zhu" and her daughter as the younger "Jiao Zhu" again meaning master of an organization. The Feng Yun Ling is an actual spy organization but it has not been clarified what the decree is. Yuwen Yue did say that unless the decree is found the young master of the Feng Yun Ling returns the underworld will not be able to do anything. I'm hoping that we will get to see more reveal of Chu Qiao and her ties with the Feng Yun Ling and her identity soon, now that the Yan Xun story has settled a bit.
Hey guys! I'm pretty new to cdramas as this is my first drama that I've seen since growing up(mom used…
I have to agree with Nikideema. Legend of Condor Heroes, the Return of Condor Heroes and The New Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre (but I recommend the older ones from the 80's and 90'). All three are based on a famous trilogy by Jin Yong. The three are THE classic of wuxia and arguably built the terminology and concepts of the wuxia world as we now know it. The best one that fits the criteria that you talked about is probably the New Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre starring Tony Leung (prob one of his debut dramas). I know it's quite old but aside from the picture quality everything else is quite similar to modern day makes of period pieces, with the exception of the acting which is out of this world good. The late 80's and 90's were the golden age of Chinese dramas and movies. I've seen period pieces from then and now and the stories, the acting and execution were so much better then than now it's almost unbelievable. I mean, what happened right? I think what happened is that Hong Kong reunited with China in 1999 and it took time for the industry to readjust (production, investments, censorship etc). Also, recent historic and wuxia pieces rely so much on CGI. Before, it was mostly wire work and zero CGI. I feel like the Chinese period dramas are making a comeback (with a lot less CGI) and Princess Agents is a great example of such a comeback. But if you want something really good then anything from the 80's and 90's are great, and many of them have the low profile character that rises to rule the world story. I will never forget Zhang Wu Ji from The New Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre.

Linh I also feel like she is different in the drama then in the novel. In the drama, she is the princess of Liang and also their top spy. There are 3 powerful spy organizations (according to Yuwen Yue): the Eyes of God, The Wind and Cloud Decree (of "jiang ho" or the underground - jiang ho actually means the "outside world of fighters and masters outside the law, it's a term used in most wuxia stories, but I digress) and Secret Repository (Liang State).
In the drama, she is something like a "pen pal" with Yuwen Yue. In episode 4 Yuwen Yue takes out a box with a little blue and orange bird figurine and he writes a letter talking about how "xiao die" - little brother? is the only one with whom he can speak freely about his troubles. Then, fast forward in episode 11 when the Liang princess first gets to Chang'an gate she says, "I've finally arrived at your city Brother Yue, I hope I don't see you bc if I do I will have to kill you." Then, later in episode 18, although she should escape she goes back to the inn where they were staying to retrieve that bird figurine that was with Yuwen Yue before (or which he has the same one of), then Yuwen Yue follows and see a book laying open and seems to recognize the words, then the camera focuses on him like he is thinking about or knows something. Then, later in episode 20, when Liang Princess and Yuwen Yue are fighting, their eyes meet and they seem to sort of recognize? each other.
So, in sum, I feel like there is more between Liang princess and Yuwen Yue. Maybe they changed this from the novel so that the Liang princess actually loves Yuwen Yue to give Chu Qiao a bit of competition? Not sure, but I'm sure we'll see more of her and that storyline to be further developed.
