People hating on Park Byung Eun for having a straight face and not having too many expressions or words to say…
That's not how all introverts are and you know that lmao. His character is stoic, sure, but that doesn't mean he's emotionless or should be portrayed as such. The audience has to rely on context clues to know how he's feeling in certain scenarios (ex. when his dad slapped him, his older brother was being sleazy to the fl, or hell even the steamy scenes) because he always has the expression of a dead fish
Just finished ep 3....uh is she supposed to have chemistry with the chairman? I don’t feel anything between them, matter of fact it feels hella awkward 🥴
I thought it was overdramatic and simplied the issues of mental health and suicide. The only way to save people…
I agree. It kinda felt like a kidz bop version of approaching the heavy topics. I wish they showed them fail to demonstrate to the audience the audience that not everyone can be saved
I got angry, I laughed, I cried. I don't think I've cried so much during a drama lol
But I gotta say... my biggest gripe is that some of the heavy topics were shallowly discussed and wrapped up way too neatly. And I wish they'd shown a story where they weren't successful in saving a person to show that a few conversations just isn't enough to save a person. Sometimes there's just no reasoning with someone who's completely determined to go through with the act
With all that being said though, the storytelling aspect was compelling and the main characters were a joy to watch. I hate the whole second season trend in kdramas lately but I wouldn't mind if this came back and delved deeper
I'm reading more about the original, and what I think the OG fans mean by 'a sanitized version missing the magic'....…
i made that quote lol. while i do agree with you, the reason i mentioned it was sanitized was because the camaraderie just isnt there for me like the original. they had no chemistry as a unit and the built up excitement in watching the plan unfold from the spanish version just felt really rushed here. it's like a clone version without the heart
but yeah you're totally right about the revolutionary message. they briefly mentioned the wealth gap but it seemed like an afterthought. and with the hostages and thieves being mixed nationalities, i would've liked to see more of an ideological warfare amongst the groups. i could only manage to get to the end of ep 3 though. guessing they didn't delve much deeper?
finished ep 3 and i think i'm just gonna drop. this version is way too rushed. the characters have little to no charisma and don't have much chemistry as a group. all in all, this felt like a super sanitized remake without any of the charm
i wish netflix made this its own storyline as a spinoff. the economic unification was wasted potential
Since i haven't watched the original one...i am truly enjoying this drama. my advice to people who have watched…
lol who are you to tell people to shut up and rate how you want? ofc people are gonna compare to the original. don't get mad because you can't handle criticism
On ep 5 and I'm surprised how much I'm liking it so far! Interesting that the hot grim reaper dude is so high up on the cast list. All I've seen of him so far is just different shots of him walking menacingly with his girl gang lol. Guess he'll be more important later
I also hate when shows leave many things unanswered but I really don't feel like this show did that. If there…
really? another comment mentioned not knowing who the killer was? i just recently finished hometown and THAT was definitely a drama that left a lot unexplained. hoping to not experience that again 😅
hmmm super conflicted. i have no idea what to rate this
eta: eh i think the rating it has is fair. the story building was intriguing, a slow paced yet gripping plot. but for me, the storyline didn't wrap up well and left way too much unexplained
