I’ve never been so blind while watching a drama before this one. I noticed some of the details, but clearly…
exaaactly I felt so stupid reading these comments lol. I was thinking of doing a rewatch soon too. wish this was available on viki so we could organize a watch party. I'd love to rewatch with someone else!
This is the first time I've ever read all of the comments of a drama on this site. When I first finished this…
exactly how i felt! i finished thinking "this was just ok, i don't get the hype." it wasn't until i read the comments here and googled the drama that i unraveled the real plot and fell down a rabbit hole of discussions and theories. definitely felt like an idiot but yeah you're spot on. it's a remarkable drama, and one that necessitates multiple watches to see what you missed
just got to ep 5. it's killing me how this dude is having an affair when his whole livelihood comes from his wife's family company. dummy!!!!
so far I'm getting cheap twom vibes. seon joo seems fairly meek but now that she knows about everything, I wanna see this turn into a makjang fr lol. i'm getting bored of nearly half of the scenes consisting of her eating a meal at a table with the other characters chatting about nothing
I'm not gonna say I'm excited because I keep jinxing myself lol...just hope this has a lot of action and interaction with the zombies like in Kingdom 😅
Ok now that I'm done - this ended up turning into a melodrama filled with cliches and irrational conveniences. Pushed through because of the hype but I found myself fastforwarding a lot and just overall feeling bored and underwhelmed
There was a very insightful comment below by @vivi_1485 mentioning that the thriller/crime aspect is merely a plot device to express the complexities of the romance and heighten the drama. Couldn't agree more
Can someone who has watched this tell me if this show actually changes anything from the plot of the original…
it's pretty much the same. minor things are added to this remake but the major plot points are untouched. even some of the scenes were shot to be similar lol
Wow...feels weird to finally watch this drama after waiting so long. Love scifi and thrillers - especially space centered - so this was right up my alley
Positives: pacing was fine, interesting dystopian angle and mysterious illness, great acting. Majority of the cast included some of my favorites in the k-industry (Bae Doo Na was fantastic as always). There were some complaints about the cgi but eh, it wasn't too bad. I found the moon shots breathtaking
Negatives: can't put my finger on it but I feel like I've watched this storyline before. Much of this felt familiar and predictable. Thin plot with a lot of illogical decision making and virtually no character depth. Final episode was clearly pushing for a season 2
Yeah there were a lot of plot holes and some things weren't scientifically sound but it was enjoyable for an 8 episode binge. Overall, not bad for a scifi kdrama. Hope to see more in the near future
I don't think its a 9/10. I don't think its perfect, its actually far away from perfect. Still I think it deserves…
Exactly!!! Couldn't agree more with everything you said. I really, really hope we see more scifi thrillers air in the near future 👽
Speaking of Hometown, I put it off for so long because of the <8.0 score but I've read similar comments saying that it's severely underrated. One thing about mdl: people's reaction to romance (or lack thereof) heavily influences the ratings. It's not always the case but just something to be aware of because that genre suits a lot of users' taste
