The IMDb rating for this is 8.7 and all the top reviews there are a 10/10.
Rating by people highly depends on how much they individually enjoyed watching a drama. So if someone finished this drama and gave it a 10 then it's a valid rating only. One don't need to be a certified critic to rate dramas on movies in mdl or IMDb.
If there are fans who make multiple accounts to rate it high then there are haters and trolls who make multiple accounts to rate it low as well. You can see the number of people who gave this a 1-2 rating. This drama wasn't a highly anticipated one or highly promoted one and it neither had super popular actors with a strong fanbase. The success and popularity of it is purely organic and a mediocre or below average product is not gonna attract a vast majority and make the actors overnight stars. If so then every other generic kdrama romcoms will be a hit.
Most of the mdl dramas that's rated 9+ are not romcoms and LR is the only romcom in top 10. For its genre, LR is among the best of recent times. For a romcom to be a hit the most important aspect is the leads and their chemistry and LR had the perfect casting and amazing chemistry between the leads. Then is the execution and the director has done a good job. Romcoms generally has a very basic storyline and everyone knows it's gonna have a happy ending.

I recently watched the interest of love and cheer up and liked it both and rated it 8 or 8.5 but both have less than 8 rating on IF. i get the low rating of interest of love since I understand it would have been a frustrating watch if one followed it while it was on air but I enjoyed it since I binged it and is totally fine with leads who are morally grey or flawed human beings as long as it goes well with the story. Cheer up for me was the typical kdrama which are rated 8.2-8.3 on mdl.
For me a drama is 8.5+ if it managed to make me watch it till the end while it's ongoing. That's why I rated destined with you 8.5. even though I wasn't hooked to the drama it made me watch it till the end while it was ongoing. On the other hand I dropped my demon by ep 6-7 and then fini shed it a month or two after it completed and I finished it solely because of my love for kim yoo Jung. If it wasn't for her it would have been on my dropped list.

When the drama was onair the comments under here were 90% positive. That's people who watched it without big expectations or not simply jumping into the bandwagon because its popular. More than half of the people active here didn't write a review including me.
If it was an average drama, it's popularity wouldn't have sky rocketed in south korea. Romcoms get that kind of attention in south korea very rarely in recent times. It's mostly ensemble cast dramas with popular actors or makjas that becomes the talk of the town.
32k+ people rated this drama and it still has 9.1 rating which clearly says majority rated this high and they enjoyed watching it. Just because a set of people don't like it doesn't mean it should be rated low.
It's a romcom and it stayed true to its genre and it had all the elements people who love kdrama romcoms likes.
Even if a lot of people look down on romcoms, the fact remains that a good romcom have high rewatch value than most other genres and attracts a vast majority who likes to have a stress free watch and be entertained.
Also no drama or movie are flawless. Even Oscar award winning movies have difference of opinion. Even the greatest movies on all time will have its flaw and people who don't like it.
Nobody here says LR is a flawless drama but it stays true to its genre and got a vast majority hooked to it from the start to the finish. It's not even like the drama was among the most anticipated one or was promoted heavily by the makers. The drama didn't even had sponsors and wasn't on Netflix and it still blew up. A drama that's just average won't be able to get enough word of mouth to be such a big hit.

I agree. I don't get people criticising mdl rating based on their personal preferences. The only thing I noticed is that some good dramas or decent enough dramas get lower rating than it deserves but 90% of the time it's rated similar to my rating only.
Just had a debate with someone under Lee dong wook's profile saying his dramas are rated higher simply because of him. Just because that person didn't like shop for killers and totnt S2 doesn't mean those dramas are rated high solely because of LDW. I watched shop for killers with my mother and she was more into it than me and I liked that series from first episode to the last. Totnt S2 reminded me of supernatural in its initial seasons with demon of the day in each episode. Totnt supernatural creatures actually come off as powerful unlike most other kdramas where they are supernatural creatures for the name sake and are useless more than half of the drama.
There are some highly rated dramas which I couldn't finish or couldn't bring myself to watch but I totally get the rating of those dramas

I loved shop for killers and totnt S2 and compared to most dramas with similar rating, those dramas are rated aptly. Totnt S1 is also rated accurately. That's the rating for most abv avg dramas in mdl.
JCW has 20+M insta followers and a much more dedicated fan following and still he has dramas lower than 8.
If a k-pop idol/actor like cha eun woo's dramas are rated low then obviously ldw or JCW fans aren't good enough to increase the rating either. Their fans aren't half as dedicated or crazy as a k-pop idol fan.

He relatively does good dramas and have variety in genres and characters as well. If the rating is solely based on popularity then all of cha eun woo dramas with be around 9 rating but he only has 2 dramas with 8.3 rating which is the rating of average decent enough dramas on mdl.
Lee dong wook definitely don't have half the crazy fangirls cha eun woo has and don't half half the social media followers either. So saying his dramas have high rating simply because of him is not true. At max a drama that is an 8.5 might end up being 8.6 because of him.
Same with ji Chang wook. If it's just about popularity he wouldn't have dramas rated lower than 8.

If you don't find chemistry between these two then it's better to drop it. That's literally why everyone went crazy for the drama and the reason why the hype is still going on.

Sol was running towards the hospital and sunjae was most probably running towards her house and she was in taxi going to her house before running towards the hospital.

He improved a lot from his record of youth days and was a 10/10 as sunjae but I cannot tell if he is a 10/10 actor without seeing him in some more works.

Since I binged it I didn't feel that much dragging but I agree it wasnt that well put together.

LR is more romcom, TW is more slice of life and 18 again is more comedy with a lot of heartwarming and emotional moments.

I watched another 6-7 dramas after this so I don't remember exactly but was the ml directly involved in the case? He was only asked to find out what happened to the singer and his friends and by the time the case went into the military court he was no more involved with the bad guys.

The main point itself is that psychos don't need a reason to go after anyone. That's exactly what it is. No reason is good enough for a psycho serial killer to kill random people.
In no way the drama showed disability is something that can be overcome. If people are criticising it for defying disability shouldn't they be more mad for defying death itself? Death is also not something that can be reversed. It's a romcom with a time travel theme.
The fl wasnt always disabled and the reason for her accident itself didn't not occur so why should she stay disabled? Do you think if in real any disabled person(who are not born with it) get the chance to erase the reason for their disability they wont make changes?
There is not a single good reason to make the fl stay disabled in a light hearted romcom when the reason itself for her accident has been prevented. In that case should the male lead have stayed dead?
