Everyone complaining about SY taking the spotlight and for me the story has always been about him. Also, DC this…
Me too for me it has always been a Shen Yi centric story not a Shen Yi- Du Cheng story, so it doesn't bother me at all. People complaining are maybe unhappy they aren't getting their 'bromance'. Shen Yi before everything happened used to be aa self-confidant genius artist with an air of arrogance. Later Du Cheng took his anger out on him and blamed him for failing to reconstruct the murderer when it wasn't his fault at all, he was just a witness.

That mental trauma was never resolved fully for Shen Yi, and he almost killed himself in season 1 trying to find the murderer. Du Cheng just told him he shouldn't let words affect him so much and never even apologized. Season 1 tried to be a government copaganda drama to me, trying to sell how police were selfless and amazing and Shen Yi would be selfish/not honorable if he chose to pursue a fully artistic career and leave police. At least that was the undertone I got. And Shen Yi being with the police also seemed to me a way out for his mental state and a way to cope with his nightmares, instead of a full passion for doing good although he does have that.

We can see that Shen Yi is scared of how well he can read people and how he could easily do evil and actually hide it well because he's so good at finding out. This fear also started from when the murderer used his aged up portrait to kill someone and Du Cheng blaming it on him, and then in this season it seems to have gotten even worse because he blames himself for not going after and saving that little girl. That's why he has this obsession now on reading people with criminal tendencies and preventing crime. Du Cheng is correct here that what he's doing is dangerous and it's inefficient and impossible to prevent crimes efficiently when there are so many criminals who already did the crime and need to be caught, but he delivers it with a lack of empathy and understanding of Shen Yi's mental state.

Shen Yi has quite bad self preservation instincts and is very stubborn despite his seemingly easy going personality. If it wasn't a bunch of other people also with a chance of being blown up I don't think he would even feel that bad for the Ruan Fangfang situation if it was only him in danger. And because he is stubborn, he will keep doing things how he sees because like he said, he doesn't think Du Cheng would understand him.
Also it's better this season, but last season most of Du Cheng's concerns for Shen Yi were that his department would lose a talented case-solving staff and not so much for his personal wellbeing.

Shen Yi outwardly doesn't blame Du Cheng for anything, but the blame for his mental state being so bad, his insomnia and instability must be directed to somewhere, right? Since he doesn't blame Du Cheng he blames himself. He has never done anything morally wrong but perceives himself as someone on the verge of doing terrible things. He has no reason to think like that of himself. This stems from Du Cheng's 'Your art can only be used to hurt people and it's useless' ( That he never apologized for). Shen Yi being at the police station was originally to prove that wrong. He seems to have gotten over it but he hasn't. Shen Yi needs to heal, and away from cases. I hope at the end of this season he leaves or at least transfers

True, close friends can hug, kiss, stay over and say I love you. This is totally fine. However, the thing with Shin and Saint is that they can't live without each other. They spend almost 24/7 with each other and don't bored. Everywhere they go they come as a package.

This is all fine and they really don't need to change anything between them as long as they like HOWEVER can any of you really see them dating/ marrying other people? They won't be able to treat them right unless their partners are satisfied with being the 2nd priority and knowing there's a best friend who'll matter quite a bit more.

Even straight girls get jealous of their besties having boyfriends and spending too much time with others without doing half the things saint and shin do.

So , it doesn't matter whether platonic or romantic but I don't think they will love someone more. So whether they confess romantically or not they'll end up marrying. Marriage isn't just about physical attraction anyways. It's about how comfortable you'll be spending the rest of your lives together as family. So yeah, either an ace platonic marriage idk or a normal marriage, it's going to end up with SaintShin husbands.

I lurked everywhere including the GMMTV reddit page. Someone wrote a hit piece on us. Is this considered #engagement…
What do they mean reluctancy?? I'd cry tears of joy in Saint and Shin get married. I'd also be super happy if Wu ends up having romance. I just don't want them to get crazy fans ohmnanon's who terrorized them at their events by bringing cutouts of the other after their fallout. Or muvmuvs who are bursting a vein bc love and namtan might have a kiss. Not to mention viewjuners who are spamming viewjune πŸ’” in any of either girl's posts with their new pair

Encountered a crazy ppw fan in twt calling them liar and fan deceiver for apparently being closer to other friends than each other. Great example of why actors who might want to take a queer role might decide against it. Fans get mad if you don't do fan service bc then you're not putting in enough work for your ship, and if you do fan service then real life friends or god forbid partners are a death sentence. Just this horribly toxic culture can deter actors especially those who want to grow as an actor not just quickly rise to fame. ( I do think both of those are valid career decisions depending on skill and comfort level )

Also not to mention, as actors you're supposed to have chemistry with a lot of people. Imagine there's a script where you'd to amazing but the other lead doesn't fit your fixed partner at all, you'll either have to give it up or be stuck acting against someone who was miscast

Also, it takes away any tension or anticipation from triangles or tentative romance. When there's a ship they'll end up together and that's freaking boring πŸ™„.

So yeah, I'm glad it's a bromance while I also would have loved it if it was romance. I'm happy bc this won't restrict them as much bc I see both are passionate about acting.

I stumbled upon a few videos of the drama and I got intrigued, seeing what it's based on, it all makes sense.…
I recommend to watch while airing, the series is slightly slow paced so it makes it better for watching over a time rather than binge watching

I have nothing against them doing a BL obvious, I'm just afraid of the script, it would be a dream if it was with…
Or directed by p fon again

Saint is 19,so yeah he’s older than his classmates. Even knot was teasing him when they found out he was tsunami.…
They were originally in school later than other kids, which Shin says to Saint in one of the flashbacks. They were older than other classmates so they mostly hung out with each other. I didn't see where Saint said he took a two year gap, I thought it was a few month gap

This might be a very unpopular opinion, but the chemistry of Tay and New was extremely well used here as a friends.…
Agree with you on everything especially non-romantic storyline and Mook. I watched two other shows of her and they usually typecast her as a goody two shoes, surprised at how well she does more aloof and badass role. She fits this character better, actually

to get some actors you want you get some that you are not that interested into... I think It was director New…
That seems like a side effect of fixed ships

Also Shin is so down bad if I was his mom I'd be super worried like him saying I'd forgive this little thing??? Little thing being breaking his leg despite not intentionally and ruining his chances of pursuing sth he was good at?? And the way he FOLDS every time Saint does his puppy eyes?? He had a bunch of new friends and couldn't be happy and started beaming as soon as they made up he's literally more obsessed than Saint atp

As someone who views characters as totally separate from actors I need saint and shin to get married it whether we get sky and nani together again or not.
They are too much obsessed with each other to spare enough attention for a gf/bf. Even if they date someone their partners will feel left out with the amount of time they'll end up spending with each other.

About the acting ...I always see people saying "needs improvement", "more acting classes", "better acting coach"…
It definitely isn't a money issue. Gmmtv non bls have maybe less budget but way more care and effort pit into them. Still not great but you can at least see that they tried sth. Just a case of if it's sells without effort why put it in? And the ads... there were so many ads in mlmu that the actors barely had time to say plot progressing lines.

And I agree with outside gmmtv shows so much! I tried like three or four shows from other channels and the plot holes were so huge they could swallow up a city. Only one I could finish was Century of Love bc offroad had decent acting and it wasn't dragged out.

I think you could give it another try! I'm not a fan of any actors in it by I was totally impressed with it. Consistent plot and perfectly wrapped ending, honestly didn't expect that level from gmmtv. It's lighthearted and not like groundbreaking or anything but quite touching and one of the best series I've watched from gmmtv all these years. Focuses mainly on friendship and found family though so might not be everyone's cup of tea
