A dream of splendor

I am sure it does not look good on any actor or actress to promote a drama heavily and not have it release.

Honestly, at this point, I am starting to feel sorry for the leads. They are out there promoting this drama every couple of months and Youku is not even giving a hint of a release date or a potential quarter when this will be released. It is like they don't really care for this.

He dies/ dissappears and she dies believing that he will come back one day. At least that's what I understood from the translation

I only read up to a certain point in the mortal realm and bits and pieces here and there cause I honestly couldnt get used to the translation / writing style. I could tell that the translators did work very hard though but certain things just don't translate over very well. So, from my knowledge it does cover heavenly relam, demon relam and the mortal realm.

For what I have read, they are married and have a daughter.

The FL learned that her step mom had sold their house and gave the money to the ML. Her original intention was to approach the ML and explain the situation so she could hopefully get the money / house back. When she saw him driving an expensive car (not his), she assumed that he was just wasting the money or living the high life without a concern for where the money was coming from. She assumed that he was just like his mother. So, her original plan was not harm the mother through the son (there were other ways she could have done it like approaching him romantically) but to hurt the son for taking the money without caring for where the money came from. She wanted him to be just as financially helpless as her family.

I would agree that this drama is not realistic since it does have the usual tropes like an evil stepmother who has no depth, a boy crazy sister, an airhead brother. I was mainly referring the romance portion where the leads are not accidentally falling into each other's arms or staring at each other longer than necessary with romantic music playing in the background (happened only once I think).

The love triangles so far:
1. the ML - FL and ML's ex girlfriend
2. The FL's sister - the FL's best friend - the sister's co-worker (the security person. The sister works in a bank). This one is somewhat confusing cause of the mixed signals from everyone involved.

It is good. A bit slow in the beginning but very good when you settle in. There is romance but don't expect a traditional romance with people accidentally falling into each other's arms or having long eye locks. It is more of a mature / realistic / somewhat melodramatic romance. The characters are carrying a lot of emotional baggage so they deal with things in a more quiet / subdued manner. They express themselves more through body language or eyes, As for love triangle, there are two do far. I will put in the spoiler tag.

LOL...this reminded me so much of the ending of Immortal Samsara. It's acceptable but not satisfying at all. At least in Immortal Samsara, Youku gave special episodes to finish it off nicely. I wonder if they will do the same thing here.

Overall, it is a good drama except for the ending

I just recently started watching this and I love the depth in the characters and their actions. This is clearly a character driven drama and not a plot driven one. The chemistry between the main leads is simply amazing with the way they look / gaze at each other and that one simple hand hold made me smile like an idiot. I do think the pacing is a little slow but I think it suits the nature of this drama cause it is dealing characters who have internal scars and external conflicts and how they are interrelated with one another. The feeling that this drama gives me so far makes me wish that this drama never ends but alas it must end like all good things. Let's see what the next set of episodes hold.
