I agree, but I’d still say his tragic endings are more than other actors, and also tragic endings are what have probably given him more fame. I really really like Ren Jialun and probably that is what I want to see him with happy endings more. No offense intended towards the actor!

And it breaks my heart to see him suffer!

Go ahead and watch it then, if you like to see your fav suffer, then Lost you forever would show you Tan Jian Ci in his majestic as well as pathetic best. You’ll love him any which way :)

I don’t mean to give spoilers, but although Tan Jian Ci looks super amazing in both his roles in Lost you forever, the story doesn’t end well for him. I’d say he got more love from fans since he had a tragic side to him in the series, but I still wouldn’t want to see him lose out

I loved Tan Jian Ci in Under the Skin as well! He is amazing and I love his deep voice! I started watching Lost you Forever for Tan Jian Ci as well, but I had to drop it because the story didn’t sit well with me.

I guess it is less painful if one starts something knowing full well how the series is going to end tragically, and also knowing there will be a sequel with the happiest ending. I absolutely loved forever and ever, and I think I’ll give one and only a try after all, since I love both Bai Lu and Ren Jia Lun, not to forget the super handsome Wang Shin Yue :)

I’ve watched Sword and the brocade, want to watch The Story of Ming Lan but it isn’t available in India, and as for Yanxi palace, I dont like men’s hair bald hairstyles so I didn’t start this one. My favourite period dramas would be The Untamed, Legend of Shen Li, The Legend of Zhouhua, Blossoms in Adversity, The Story of Kuning Palace, Wrong Carriage Right Groom, Love you seven times, Unchained love, Dream of splendour in Chinese dramas, and in Korean - Alchemy of Souls, Mr Queen, Missing Crown Prince, Knight Flower, Sungkyunkhwan Scandal, Captivating the King, The King’s affection. I’ve seen many more, but these are the ones I’ve rated 10
P.S. Legend of Shen Li and Love you seven times are Xanxia and not exactly historical, but they were amazing so I added them.

Jewel in the palace isn’t available in India as well! I’m still adding it to my watchlist, hope it becomes available someday!

I am a compulsive binger too :) Have you seen Are you the one? It’s good, in case you haven’t watched it. I love period dramas too. The second season of Under the Skin is releasing soon! How’s Jewel in the Palace? I haven’t seen it.

I’ve left many shows unwatched following this rule of thumb, and believe me, I hate leaving things incomplete too! That said, I still value my screen time too much to keep watching something that fails to catch my interest after a couple hours. What are you watching now? I’m watching under the skin by myself, and Lost you forever with my daughter.

I woudn’t say it is not! Still…try giving it 5 episodes, if you still don’t develop an interest, then just leave it. This is what I do with dramas I’m not sure I want to watch, 5 episodes for chinese and 3 for Korean :)

I had Lost you Forever in my watchlist for the longest time I think, I would keep removing it and then add it back, but I never got around to actually giving it a try. One of the reasons I avoided it was Yang Zi, I’m not a big fan, but I guess the reason I kept adding it back was Tan Jian Ci, I cannot seem to get enough of him :) I’m almost done with season 1, and I can tell you it is a mixed bag, I absolutely love the character of Tan Jian Ci, and I would recommend watching it even if it is just for him. The story is complicated, but everyone has acted quite well and the series is very watchable.

I’m on episode 31, loving this series so far, but I’m dreading the sad ending. Ren Jialun is a champion of unhappy endings, but I so want him to have a happy ending with Jiang Ci here!! I loved Ren Jialun in Forever and Ever and I didn’t watch One and only since it had a tragic ending as well!

Even I liked it a lot. Guess one needs to overlook certain things if the show is good in general.
