I totally agree with you. Chen Feiyu is an actor with great potential. Though I don’t follow the rumour mill around chinese entertainment, but I heard he was involved in a scandal and thus no good female actors were ready to star opposite him, because of which he needed to accept whatever was coming his way, to be able to make a comeback. I hate when this happens, actors should be judged by their acting capabilities and not what they do in their personal time, but this could only happen in a Europian world. I sincerely hope he can get good roles where he can show his skills better. He looks great in roles where he is confident and arrogant, that kind of persona suits him.

Friendship is there, but more in the form of people round you who you trust, and can always fall back on. I get it, a bit of romance angle might have made the series more palatable to a wider spectrum of viewers, but Lee Je Hoon doesn’t seem to be made for romance :)

Hope I didn’t spoil the series for you. Romance aside, it is a great drama about greed driven corporate politics.

You mean in Art of Negotiation?? There is no FL, and no romance at all. Not to give out too many spoilers, but our ML is a married man here.

I am all for self respect and mutual understanding, but when one watches a romance drama, one expects romance to be the central principal. Of course a good drama would have romance with a solid storyline and good acting, but somehow this drama lacks both I feel.

Indont have much hope from that drama with Dilraba either. She is playing a character who is older and more mature. Let’s hope that turns out okay, fingers crossed!

Even I was looking forward to this series since Chen Feiyu had been missing from the screen for so long! Somehow, all the dramas that are due for release with him as the ML seem lacklustre to me, on the other hand, after seeing the trailers and BTS of dramas with Zhang Jingyi, I’m very excited to see her on screen again. Guess our Zhu Yun from L&P chooses her scripts more carefully than Li Xun :)

I share your opinion, but moving on might not be easy for Yi Young. I hope having a love rival might push KDW to realise how he feels about Yi Young making him reciprocate her feelings like she deserves. That said, I would also be okay with Yi Young realising that KDW might never reciprocate her feelings and start going out with the anaesthesiologist. Both the guys are good looking so she’s got nothing to loose :)

Watch it without worry, you’ll like the end. Also try Immortal Samsara if you like Cheng Yi, I love him in xianxia dramas, not so much in modern ones. He plays a more powerful character in Immortal Samsara than his character here in Love and Redemption.

I am a fan of Chen Feiyu, but I just cannot bring myself to watch this show. First, I told myself that I’ll watch it once all episodes were aired, then when I saw the ratings, I totally didn’t want to watch it. Chen Feiyu was fantastic in Lighter and Princess as the arrogant genius, I somehow don’t feel I’d like him as a soft hearted and kind person. Is there anybody who feels the way I do here?

A happy ending! all misunderstandings are cleared in the end and there is a happily ever after for both couples.

I dont know why they went with a silver hair look for Lee Je Hoon for this, but damn does he look good carrying it! That said, he does seem to stand out, but he would have, even if he went with his Taxi Driver look. Though this series lacks the thrill of Signal and Taxi Driver, I am still enjoying it. Almost finished with it, looking for more shows of Lee Je Hoon. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Well he doesn’t seem to like the second concubine from what I’ve seen so far. Also, it is sad that Mu Dan couldn’t be married to him as a wife and had to accept becoming a concubine. I hope in the next season he is able to make her his wife and do away with the concubine as soon as he finishes exposing Prince Ning. I do hope the emperor can have his love reciprocated as well.

I totally get that. The mindset of most women in that era was like Sheng Yi, while very few were as enterprising as Mu Dan. Now that I have completed the series, I can only feel sorry for her, it would have been a different ending for her had she trusted the woman who stood by her at her lowest, than her abusive husband.
That said, I was disappointed to see absolutely no romance between the leads right up to the last episode. The ML has clearly fallen for her, but doesn’t want to bind her to a relationship, but the feelings of the FL are still those of comfort with a friend.

Wow!!! what a star studded drama!! cannot wait to watch it, but I’ll wait for at least half of the series to air.

I’m on episode 16, and I somehow cannot bring myself to like Sheng Yi. Mu Dan has been nothing but nice to her, but she seems to neither trust nor support her. The other martial arts girl is far better, though she’s known her for lesser time. Anyone here shares my feeling?

Not at all! Knowing he would get a concubine later would make me less angry when I reach that episode. I’ve always hated the idea of polygamy, thankfully it no longer exists in most parts of the world, but it still hurts to see it in dramas!

That’s too bad! Poor thing our FL suffered one failed marriage and would have to put up with concubines too! I’m still on episode 14, a long way to go to 32!
