This is much better than the newer version w/ Pong (despite my love for Pong).
I especially liked the female lead here ... couldn't stand her whinnnig in the newer version :P
Thid show was pretty good ... Very good story, characters are not 2-dimensional, good side characters, acting was good, pace was good, very little filler (rare for a lakorn), so it held my interest all along.....
ofc it has typical lakorn cliches, and the end is a little silly and repetitive, like a typical lakorn formula :(
and must ignore that he fell in love w/ a teenager, but later on the love was believable.
Lots of jealousy and angst and passion from Weir...thumbs up for that!.. XD
Also rare for lakorn, good OST.
Plus the BONUS: Weir is looking hot! the Mafioso look suits him... worth watching, just for him ;)
He has a smoldering sexuality ... very sensual... and very good actor!
Only saw him in Love Me Not, The Servant, and Lovers in Prague, and he was great in all!!!
Great guide! .... he is very very Funny, and very versatile as an actor! ..... I like many of his movies:
Castaway on the Moon .... Confession of Murder ..... By the Book .... Guns and Talk .... etc...
This film is a fairytale where, it is Fellini meets Noh.... w/ a touch of Shakespearean tragedy....
Everything is a fusion of styles from East and West.
Ziyi spoke Mandarin most of the time... :D
The music is an operetta sang in Japanese w/ Rap, Jazz, R&B and Hard Rock guitar
Lots of symbolism, I don't think I got it all :P
Really liked the production.
Very creative and quirky, but what really made it worth watching for me is two of my favorite actors ..... and certainly two of the most gorgeous actors ever:
Odagiri Jo and Zhang Ziyi!
I love the idea of this article ... and I like hearing about the earlier days of the Asian-drama phenomena ..... You were there almost from the beginning...impressive, congratz!
Me too, HDY and Nobuta were my first j-dramas, and Nobuta introduced me to Kame and I got hooked <3 :D
This is a great Stalker's guide ... So much detail! . ... and I love your intro: Screen Presence, chameleon, great actor and charisma galore!!!.... Right on point.
But, I would beg to differ, I find him very attractive and sexy!
Loved Ananda and Kimberly ... Parob and Wanvisa are a great couple, both beautiful, tons of chemistry, I could feel the love.
I haven't seen a lakorn where the Hero is so willing to admit his feelings from the start .... Made it very romantic!
The plot however is too contrived, the story came off as shallow ..... It needed better writing ... If you can ignore that, there is a lot of romance (and angst and jealousy) to enjoy!
I liked the story and the lead characters .... Andrew was very appealing as the lovesick Pope ....
Janie's Pat is a little too much as the self-sacrificing noble idiot at first, but Pat knows when she is being taken advantage of, and stands up for herself after a while! .... Thankfully, she showed some brains and courage, a lot better than many lakorn noble idiots....
Best chemistry is Pope and his Dad (rather Andrew & Montri ...lol)...love it!! XD
The actions of Pope and Pat were consistent w/ their characters, so the plot development made sense, and the story was good. Also, the reasons and the process of how they fell in love, also made sense and they were good together! .... Lots of jealousy and angst! XD
It is one of the better slap/kiss lakorns, better written and good acting ..... and Andrew is worth watching!
Did anyone notice the scene where Tai Yu pulls up on a motorcycle to woo MinMin? ..... It is an homage to Andy Lau's A Moment of Romance!!!! ... even the way he was dressed, the jean jacket and helmet!
Lol!
Just like our heroine, I ❤ Andy Lau!
Hey there neighbor! I get what you are talking about. Even after a decades MG is the most successful Asian drama…
I am a late comer to Asian dramas, way past my teens when I first saw MG a few years ago ... and .... I can totally understand MeteorFever, why MG created such a craze and why F4 are so popular, best bromance ... especially Jerry as Daoming Si ... The best ever!
very very good .... typical high school film, but very well executed ... loved the characters and the comedy....Wang Darren is now a huge favorite!
Btw .... I was squeeling at the very end! ... *Fangirling*
