Ngl epi 4 got me in my feels :') was a good epi imo, we got a ghostly meet-up in the forest, a lot on their past life & the update on Yod. we got lots of entangled feelings of Khem having gained memories of the past life. he'll have to sit with that for a bit I'd say until he's sorted these additional feelings. we got more glimpses of Jet & Charn, yay, and it's going to be interesting that Charn the sceptic seems to have extraordinary intuition. also rip mum :')
no I think the new epis are great, but if you read some of the comments the rating isn't surprising, too many people only making comparisons instead of simply enjoying each drama for what it is (or simply moving on if they don't like a drama). also this is a political fantasy (qihuan?) drama (not rlly wuxia, but Ig mdl is too limited with genres) and some seem to struggle to take in this mix lol I think the rating will go up again when more than just a few hundred people rated it and it found its crowd of people actually interested in this type of drama :)
I'm rlly liking this drama, the new epis are great, it gave me the siblings conversation I sooo was hoping for (me out here fearing they'd only reconcile in death or something XD) The little moments of Jin'an being smitten are so adorable. All the sweetness the perfect set-up to make it hurt later on when everything comes crashing down ^^ I like that we slowly get more of the political intrigue set-up :)
Reading the comments it seems I’m the only one liking fl using arrow in close rang. Its so refreshing to see,…
I like it too, it gives her a bit of a combat-archer (e.g. Legolas) vibe and it's not that unrealistic considering her bow is a special build anyway. she clearly could show she's using it flexible enough in close range whereas trying to switch between bow & sword would be difficult in battle, so she'd have to rely on sword only mostly, which we've had hundreds of times already ;)
Ohhh the first 6 epis were a fun ride, I'm so ready for this journey, hope it continues like this :) I'm already invested in this, atm we're obv on her turf while he's stuck in the mystery, but in different ways they established both charas well so far. We see her relation with the army, the family (& cautious situation with the emporer), we see her guilt towards the people but also her small joys and ofc Jin'An , so that's a solid introduction and I'm here for it :) For him it's the different personality aspects we see and I'm so happy Cheng Lei get's to act this variety in 1 show. I like how they play with little glimpses of his princely upbringing, while also letting shine the carefree side of someone who doesn't actively remember atm that every word/action of his could've consequences for a whole country ^^ (btw the little kid is doing so well :3)
you can dislike it but pls stop calling them heterosexual, just cause it was a m/f pairing doesn't mean they were…
you literally wrote 'but I get so ANNOYED when the past lovers are heterosexual.' that means to me you said they're heterosexual people, if not then pls phrase your sentences differently next time (and the way you wrote it very much has the undertone of e.g. bi people in love don't count when they're in a m/f relationship) greetings from a queer person
This was a rlly entertaining show :) I wish they had adjusted the pacing a bit, cause the first few epis it felt like fast-forward mode and then it slowed down quite a bit for some of the 2. life parts. sure the beginning was 'just the set-up' for the main-plot but I rlly liked 1. life Qingge & Yishui, it was a fun give and take, her confidence and him slowly melting from his grumpy cat self was fun ( he had a sh*tty upbringing :/ ). So have to confess I missed that a bit when she was Ranran, BUT they overall did the switch well, you could still see her personality shine through and her Ranran-self was endearing without being the cliché baby-talk/infantilization they do for some FL charas, while his chara development was believable.
Overall I appreciate that they gave us ML & FL on equal footing for most of the show, even when she was Ranran she gained the confidence to deal with the walls he put around himself (after some drama & misunderstandings of course lol). And esp the 'who is the master' back and forth was a fun addition.
The side charas were varied and I enjoyed the humoristic aspect, but also chara development of the demonic cultivators as the show intended :)
I don't think it's meant to have subs. why would you even want to see the subs of a chant?
why not? it's practically like a prayer and Thai speakers understand it so why can't international viewers be interested in the prayer style (we also get song translations in most shows) ^^
I'm enjoying Keng, but Namping not only looks like Coeathert, he's also playing a role as bad as the ones Coehearth…
there's not just one way masculinity exists (in reality besides stereotypes) a guy can be/behave 'softer' or not. e.g. Cooheart himself embraces a more 'feminine' styling expression IRL often, the only problem is that he's being typecast & kept in that box instead of being able to expand his roles in variety. And Namping too talked about exploring different sides of himself.
Firstly, I want to say that I’m LOVING this show so far! The CGI is pretty good, the plot is great, the acting…
you can dislike it but pls stop calling them heterosexual, just cause it was a m/f pairing doesn't mean they were heterosexual people I'm actually so tired of people acting as if nothing else besides gay vs straight exists... Otoh personally I like it cause it's about falling in love with the person (twice) not with their gender ;)
this is so good, but the reincarnation plot turns me off so hard since the ML is aware of his past life and also…
Tastes are different so just see if you like it or not, but personally I think rebirth/reincarnation plots can be fun cause it often means you can fall in love twice, I think they might handle it this way here too (please no book spoiler replies, this is just my guess-work ^^)
Like Peem obv loved Khemika and atm that's his 'reference' cause he knew her well vs he tried to stay away from Khemjira knowing about the curse & that he's not supposed to interfere with his Karma. But he'll get to know Khemjira slowly, whether he wants to or not since Khem is persistent lol, and he'll see similarities but also differences between Khem's past/present life personalities ^^
(I'm probably just so used to all the rebirth stories by now (esp c-drama) ^^)
The topic of episode 2 has left a slight sour taste in my mouth and I need to speak about it. I really did not…
I think what we need to understand is that this isn't some white knight cuties story ^^ This was a realistic view into how suspected domestic abuse may be ignored IRL (whether in villages where no one wants a falling out with the community or in a more anonymous city setting where everyone minds their own business, in both cases it can be like this, also due to people unsure what they should do) And they told this story to give us a POV to all charas & to the karma believe system of this setting. Peem specifically said he's not here to change someones karma and it all ties back to him not being willing to interfere with Khem's karma at the moment even tho he could consider it personal ties due to past Khem ^^
I rlly liked ep3, it was a great mix of glimpses into the past life & more about the believes/culture & cute moments for our 4 boys & tension thanks to some ghostly shenanigans...feels long until next week XD
Honestly I struggle to sort this one: I was super hyped to see many actors I liked in this drama and I also got to know a few new ones I wasn't as aware of before, so that's a win and the overall production quality (cinematography, sets, costumes etc) is high...BUT:
I still haven't started this series, although I really want to. Under genres it says 'horror'. Is it? Because…
it's not hard-core horror and I think they'll keep it palatable enough for many BL fans, but they do want to convey that this is a life-threatening curse so esp start of 1. epi they have jump-scares, chilling music, darkness etc to give an opressive feeling. But otoh Khem has seen ghosts all his life (it's just getting worse now) & not all ghosts are out to get him, so it's not a constant scare. I think since some had difficulty with the topic I'll also spoil that in both epis domestic violence was more or less involved...
except this is a really realistic way they handled this, many people IRL don't know how to react to such suspicions…
this isn't a kawaiii~ or Disney show, did you also think they should've skiped the case of the tied up boy in ep1? and yes it was exactly placed in the storyline like the scriptwriters wanted it to explaining this story-universes POV on Karma and e.g. Pharan not wanting to get involved cause he can't change a person's karmic journey and this obv ties back to Khem... if this topic is too much for someone then it's better to skip a show or epi instead of thinking the story is wrong...
the fact that the DV subplot wasn't in the book and that they chose to add it only to minimalise the harm it causes…
except this is a really realistic way they handled this, many people IRL don't know how to react to such suspicions or think it's 'just a family matter that shouldn't be public' and I think it's a good way to show people a mirror of 'this is how our socitey works in many situations but should it be that way???'
