Didn't watch today's eps yet, but feeling both FL and SML might be in the loop as well and maybe ML's Boss too.…
with his boss I personally I think it's more that the boss kept his 'I live through time-loops' confession in the back of his mind, probably as silly little thing at first, but considering this has been happening for yrs and they're sus of him knowing so much (even if they conciously only remember loop 5 it's sus how well planned ML is on that day for a case), I'd say he's starting to srsly believe it ^^
Should i watch it? Like what should i exepxt please tell. I have exams in 7 days so
I too would say wait until after exams, cause this is an investigative series & events change with the time-loops, so the main chara has to play 4D chess atm to try and solve it/keep everyone save. and if you enjoy shows like this your brain will be busy theorizing about hints we get esp if you have to wait until the next epi ^^ All the best with your exams & preparation!
Epi 7 and ohhhhh I enjoy this show so much!!! So far it's just one big case, so I assume we'll get maybeee 2 cases this season. I'm ok with it cause he's playing 4D chess since the events keep changing and he also has to keep track of the 'regular events' going on in the city that suddenly can be relevant to his case and influence the situation for him,...(I'm glad they're incorporating everything, I knew they wouldn't just randomly let us listen to certain news-stories). Also: no wonder he needs ALL the sleep after intense loops!! (his body might reset along with the loop, but considering his mind is Locked In for multiple days with 0 break, damn, I'd collapse XD) It's fun to see all the hints of people being sus... And I'm super happy we got the team & boss throwing around theories about him, deserved haha
Often I don't post after 1 epi, but since I went into Mobius blind I just wanna leave a short ramble: I didn't keep up with what BJT drama was being released, I just was looking forward to a new show with him, so realizing that it's another time loop drama was so entertaining & nostalgic lol (esp there being a time-loop on a bus hehe)
Ding Qi is appearing nearly a bit too overpowered/1-man-army style at times (hope it'll be a balance in the show so his colleagues don't seem too dependent on him, or are just decoration ^^ ), but at least they gave us a believable set-up considering he time-loops very often and has the chance to hone his skills & approach to the specific situation. Otoh they also added fitting humor & some of the akward/dorky scenes BJT does so well :) (humor is subjectiv hit-or-miss, but they had me literally LOL with e.g. the bank-robbery comedy)
This is a totally different plot set-up to Reset, so don't be worried about being bored by 'just another time-loop show' and it's nice that his Ding Qi chara has a bit more freedom to enjoy the benefits of time-loops (I think having to write your thesis multiple times is bearable if you also can win the lottery ^^ and on the pos side, it means he had more time to work on his thesis XD)
Very enjoyable 1. epi & main-chara set-up so far :)
EDIT after ep5: ohhhh it's so fun, they have a great mix of intrigue & humoristic aspects and the potential romance has good chemistry (their cute moments made me grin) while keeping it 'not as simple as he thinks at first' XD
This is goood! Nice to see Bai Jingting in a time loop again after Reset, lols
It was such an entertaining realization for me (I went into Mobius without knowing anything about it), like overall I try to avoid comparing shows/charas, but the audience getting to know Ding Qi when he's already used to living through loops was like a meeting Heyun again after years and them showing us a loop in a bus made me laugh XD
it started getting boring for me from episode 23 but i still want to finish it ...
I had the same issue (esp since I wasn't that interested in the single cases being dragged out while the overall mystery case was still not rlly unfolding) but I can rec to try to make it through those epis, there's A LOT more happening in the 30+ epis ^^
Honestly I struggle to sort this one:I was super hyped to see many actors I liked in this drama and I also got…
The execution of the storyline feels like a fumble half-way through, the set-up as Nan Heng = 'villain' and Yimeng feeling distanced from these 'fictional charas' around her and just trying to keep herself alive is all well and good. but it went downhill when this set-up didn't change for 2/3 of the show.
Don't get me wrong I def give her the right to be wary of him & working against him since early in the show he DID try to kill her & harmed her, but that's why I wish the script had developed their 'romance' differently. while I enjoy 'enemies to lover' tropes, I personally prefer when the charas are on equal grounds, they totally can try to stab each other, but if it's repeatedly misunderstandings, a one-sided suffering & hurt feelings, then it feels more like I wanna tell them to break free from toxic patterns than enjoying a fun trope & 'romance'.... And even when we had some small moments of development for Yimeng and she e.g. became closer to her 'ficitional family' and she wanted to protect the world as more than fiction, it still circeled back to her like most charas blaming Nan Heng somehow for everything and considering he was smittenly in love with her at that point and trying to do everything for her/doing good overall, this felt like a level of toxic set-up & gaslighting I struggle to enjoy as 'romance'. practically switched from her suffering to him suffering, but never quite felt as if they reached equal grounds until the last few epis.
So halfway through I relied on the Night-walkers charas to keep my motivation to continue and only the last 10 epis got my excitement for the overall show back, sigh...
this was simply more a 'slice of life' epi for the 4 main charas as break between the more intense curse plot, but still fully related to everything (past life, curse, mysticism), so no the plot is plotting ^^
epi 5 was such a nice break between the major plot, other epis were packed with past life & curse & case of the week in the village & chara introductions, which is cool cause it makes the epis feel too short :) but this week was a little breather between everything, we got to settle in with our 4 main charas, saw their daily life & more introduction to the mystic aspects and the first new beginnings of romance :)
tastes are different, so this is just my POV ramble ^^ I wanted to like this but I'm struggling. Half the lightheartedness/comedy is just people throwing tantrums & misunderstandings & the constant running gag of the Li ladies being 'fierce'. All of these topics come with deeper reasonings for the charas, but are so often used as 'joke' that I don't feel connected when the show tries to tell me that I'm supposed to be deeply emotionally involved suddenly in some scenes...
After 14 epis it's exhausting atm. The Li ladies are being so slowly established (even tho they're main charas) that the 2 youngest girls are still just nothing more than 'the kids' to me cause we know nothing deeper than that. with other charas it switches between very raw/deep moments to then the chara nearly being non-existent in other epis, which again makes me feel less connected to any of them.
personally I don't like how the couples are handled, they feel flat: 1. already established couple exists...and that's it...I can't even remember them having 1 proper conversation as couple cause all that's stuck in my head is the man's constant pleading towards his wife (comedy relief that's not landing for me) the 'main couple' so far had an interesting set up and then after getting together turned into the 'mild version' of 1. couple... the 3. new couple could also be interesting except their non-communication level is at 'might as well talk with a wall' atm, which will obv improve towards the end of the show, but atm I struggle to hold on until then, gonna take a break from the show for a bit ^^
I really enjoyed this drama esp cause we got a full-on friendship group (found family) development, I adore them :3 (yes All of them XD) It was a great mix of lighthearted bickering but also heartfelt/caring moments or raw talks between the friends at times (which sometimes is missing between all the 'tough guys' in dramas), we also got actual group-hugs etc :)
On the investigation side I overall enjoyed it too, some things were a bit obv and in the middle it felt a bit redundant that 1 member had to proof their innocence in 2 cases and therefore felt dragged out when I was waiting for more interesting story parts to develope, but other times they had me fully invested wondering in which direction they'd decide to go with the main plot :)
I appreciate that FL/ML were a genuinly well balanced & well written couple: living for investigations but also having loving moments. FL was due to circumstances keeping her feelings more supressed + simply more a hot-headed personality (nice variety to the 'more refined ladies' of other dramas). We actually got moments of them saving each other and each being the strong one or grounding partner at times, YES thanks!
Sadly this drama seems to be flying under the radar between all the other recent releases, I hope more people will discover it over time so this solid drama (imo 8,5/10) receives the attention it deserves :) I'm going to miss this little rag-tag team :')
They change the ending. It's not like the novel. They change a lot of things too 1 of the major thing is she really…
Thank you for that summary of some of the differences between novel and show :) those are def some major differences for the FL and the show reduced a lot of the political complexity.
yeah I'm not surprised that Sml is the 'bad guy' in the novel cause I saw some spoilery comments from novel readers and I'm used to dramas often 'resolving' love triangles by killing sml off or having him be an unredeemable guy ^^ it's just the show established him as someone with principals & compassion as part of his grey characteristics, but then suddenly in the last few epis it's as if he had a psychotic break and chara turn-around out of nowhere lol, so it felt inconsistent of the chara-personality ^^ I'm also just personally a bit disappointed cause up until the last few epis I was hopeful this show would be added to my list of love triangles that are showing some (grumpy) cooperation between the men instead of just backstabbing rivals or even enemies hehe ;)
Tastes are obv different, so this is just my personal rant ^^ This is another one I had high expectations for, but while it's overall a good watch it failed to deliver the Legend I had hoped for. I know there had to be made some cuts/editing adjustments, but that's no excuse for the overall lack of depth in storytelling.
It easily could've introduced charas we're supposed to see as relevant at earlier appropriate times in the story to build a believable connection between the charas and also towards the audience (e.g. her master, the classmate-connection leading to her gender reveal, her fellow trusted generals from her life as He Rufei etc.) but they all were introduced later in the story just to get certain plot points across (whether a death was needed or a reveal), but lacking impact due to the rushed feeling of sudden chara/relationship set-up. This overall lead to the delivered story & charas feeling flat at times. Sadly even her struggle to have grown up disguised as man (and hardened general) and now slowly being allowed to discover her identity as woman fell short at times, e.g. how she was all cutesy (& coaxing) when she wanted to. where was that personality trait coming from so easily considering in her upbringing she wasn't even allowed to interact with her own mum or play as it was deemed 'too feminine'?? So yes there were story telling parts of 'finding her identity' but def not the depth I had hoped for. In parts it seemed like progressing 'the romance' as concept & checking off tropes from a list was more important than adapting it to this specific story/this specific FL/ML couple, e.g. the silliness of that 'underwater kiss'-scene...
The last 3 epis honestly kind of ruined it for me, I haven't read the novel, so yes maybe this was the end that was 'supposed to happen' following the novel story line. but considering the set-up of the '3 main charas/love triangle' throughout all 30 epis of the drama, this felt like a chara-assasination of SML & a cheap way out, cause we apparently can't have a peacefully resolved 'love triangle' (SML never had a chance anyway) in this show. Yes SML had grey chara set-up (which honestly made him one of the more interesting charas in all of this), but the total switch-up from him being merciful to a woman he doesn't even like because he doesn't want her to suffer like his own mother did back then, to totally going down the deep end just 1 epi later and trying to ruin FL's life (& the kingdom) is so laughable I barely finished to show lol sorry...
I honestly was just expecting too much from the script, the actors did well with what they were given and if people are more interested in a cute romance than a gripping tale about identity & war/politics then there's lots to enjoy Ig. Also the side-charas like 2nd couple and FL's ragtag group of new soldiers & Fei Nu were adding fun entertainment even if only appearing in small doses ^^
We got a lot this ep, but it was so well spaced out, i'm really happy watching the show!
yeah the show is as good as I had hoped for (so far at least)(haven't read the novel yet) it def became one of my happy-excitement shows atm. watched the cast reacting to epi 3 today, then watched ep 4 and enjoy that we got them singing in the Khemjira busking last weekend & today at DMD Sportsday, nice to see these kiddos thrive :)
Ngl epi 4 got me in my feels :') was a good epi imo, we got a ghostly meet-up in the forest, a lot on their past life & the update on Yod. we got lots of entangled feelings of Khem having gained memories of the past life. he'll have to sit with that for a bit I'd say until he's sorted these additional feelings. we got more glimpses of Jet & Charn, yay, and it's going to be interesting that Charn the sceptic seems to have extraordinary intuition. also rip mum :')
no I think the new epis are great, but if you read some of the comments the rating isn't surprising, too many people only making comparisons instead of simply enjoying each drama for what it is (or simply moving on if they don't like a drama). also this is a political fantasy (qihuan?) drama (not rlly wuxia, but Ig mdl is too limited with genres) and some seem to struggle to take in this mix lol I think the rating will go up again when more than just a few hundred people rated it and it found its crowd of people actually interested in this type of drama :)
I'm rlly liking this drama, the new epis are great, it gave me the siblings conversation I sooo was hoping for (me out here fearing they'd only reconcile in death or something XD) The little moments of Jin'an being smitten are so adorable. All the sweetness the perfect set-up to make it hurt later on when everything comes crashing down ^^ I like that we slowly get more of the political intrigue set-up :)
Reading the comments it seems I’m the only one liking fl using arrow in close rang. Its so refreshing to see,…
I like it too, it gives her a bit of a combat-archer (e.g. Legolas) vibe and it's not that unrealistic considering her bow is a special build anyway. she clearly could show she's using it flexible enough in close range whereas trying to switch between bow & sword would be difficult in battle, so she'd have to rely on sword only mostly, which we've had hundreds of times already ;)
Ohhh the first 6 epis were a fun ride, I'm so ready for this journey, hope it continues like this :) I'm already invested in this, atm we're obv on her turf while he's stuck in the mystery, but in different ways they established both charas well so far. We see her relation with the army, the family (& cautious situation with the emporer), we see her guilt towards the people but also her small joys and ofc Jin'An , so that's a solid introduction and I'm here for it :) For him it's the different personality aspects we see and I'm so happy Cheng Lei get's to act this variety in 1 show. I like how they play with little glimpses of his princely upbringing, while also letting shine the carefree side of someone who doesn't actively remember atm that every word/action of his could've consequences for a whole country ^^ (btw the little kid is doing so well :3)
All the best with your exams & preparation!
