solid 2. epi, I like that they kind of gave us a 'case to resolve' and used this to introduce charas to each other,…
also the reluctance of some to interfere in suspected domestic violence, people often don't know what to do and 'don't interfere in private stuff between couples/families'- POVs are all handled realisticly. I'm also glad that it wasn't a case of 'oh he just beat her cause he was possessed', I would've understood if they went that route in a ghost-storyline, but otoh I'm glad there was no 'excuse' for him being an ass, reasons like possibly the debt & stress leading to alcoholism as catalyst for the violence, but not simply an excuse of 'oh it was just a spirit'...
solid 2. epi, I like that they kind of gave us a 'case to resolve' and used this to introduce charas to each other, show us more of the master's work & village, explore each charas POVs and set up more for the 'main ghosts' - good flow of the plot :) edit: such a fitting intro, A+
I want to watch this show but I dont fancy horror plots and barely have tolerance for thrill.. havent seen a single…
I personally don't watch any of the hard-core horror out there, but I think this is relatively mild: it's some jump-scares for the viewers & charas to set the opressing feeling of Khem being cursed & haunted/having to fear for his life (esp the first few min of the 1. epi as introduction), but overall Khem has seen ghosts all his life and not all ghost are trying to hurt him, some are simply dead people that haven't moved on. The effects team is doing a good job, so you should be ok with a bit of halloween make-up to watch this :)
TOTALLY!!It doesn't make sense, especially when episode 1 has a 9. Where do they get that the series deserves…
have to say I'm very confused by this reasoning ^^ if you're waiting for more to form an opinion then it's best to not rate at all yet until at least half the show is over or until the end of the show (personally I prefer rating at the end of the show most times)
If you want to rate each epi then each epi should be rated by itself. overall I'd say rating a 1/10 is universally understood as 'bad', like I doubt you'd rate a restaurant 1/10 after eating there saying ' it's ok but you want to try more dishes first next time before giving a better rating' and I don't think you'd like to buy a product that's rated 1/10 online ^^
TOTALLY!!It doesn't make sense, especially when episode 1 has a 9. Where do they get that the series deserves…
oh wow thank you so much for the detailed explanation!!! I honestly thought that would just take you to a user's (custom) lists, not the watchlists lol XD yeah everyone does their ratings a bit differently, but it's def interesting, I liked to check ratings whenever I browse someone's custom lists to see if the recs are a similar taste to my own etc (but at the end I always try shows myself to see if it's my own taste or not)
personally I've never given a 10 cause I always have things I consider minor flaws, but otoh I also rated some of my fav shows 8,5 cause them having some flaws doesn't mean they don't own a piece of my heart lol. maybe I'm rating too soft sometimes since I give an 'ok' show 7-8 and I haven't gone lower than ~5 so far cause if I rlly think it's worse than that (or maybe ok but simply not my taste) I drop it and move on hehe ^^
TOTALLY!!It doesn't make sense, especially when episode 1 has a 9. Where do they get that the series deserves…
yeah it's overall sadly nothing new I also see it in C-Drama fan-wars etc. it's just so disappointing cause BL is branching out quite a bit with different stories and instead of appreciating the variety some are busy hating shows for ships they don't like etc XD
edit: I think some of it also sadly comes along with the competiveness of social trending (KPop, BL) etc, luckily not everyone, but some people are so fixated on hyping their favs # etc that acknowledging other shows as good/other KPop groups make good music feels like betrayel to their favs the companies are laughing at us cause we give them unpaid promotion work with all that trending which by now is required so a show isn't considered a 'flop' XD
The princes didn’t do much protection military-wise, they had peaceful times for 20 years in terms of actual…
I maybe didn't articulate that well about the princess ^^ : I didn't expect her to be equal to a general on military knowledge but the show referenced that hidden tunnel as the one they used in their younger years so she def knew it existed and yet the show neglected her knowledge so the master had to step in to sacrifice his life ^^
Thanks for giving some insight about the novel plot-points & esp the classmates being more relevant in the novel :)
I was just going to post on Point 1) !! Lol… yes for all its shortcomings, I’m still liking this drama. Maybe…
ok glad I wasn't the only one doing a double take on that scene haha Idk about any of the situation for this drama (production-cost, time etc), I think the flow of the scenes is a matter of scriptwriter & director (Idk if any of them had more say than the other or if scenes had to be cut or rearranged) Just hope the rest of the show hasn't too many 'forced plot points' in the narrative, cause I enjoyed the story set-up :)
I enjoy the drama overall, but they sometimes want to get the plot to a certain point and fail to make it flow there naturally: e.g. 1) the 'underwater-kiss' after the battle: he was kilometers away fighting like 5 sec earlier and she was kicking ass, but of course it had to end with her needing help & him appearing out of nowhere for that???
2) her master was so randomly introduced and it quickly became obv they give him no deeper meaning than the 'failed love' storyline to give He Yan a warning to not let her own love slip away. (the way he died alone defending a tunnel that the princess knew about?!?! like guys you can't tell us the princess is an awesome woman defending this city for the last 20 yrs and then she didn't have any warriors protecting that secret tunnel???)
3) the ex-classmate plot-device ep 22 it would've made way more sense to introduce him early to create a connection, actually give us some of the scenes we saw as flashbacks instead early in the show as 'in real time': the failed support between Xiao Jue & the classmate should've happened at the start when Xiao Jue actually was all alone against the court and then they coudl've met up again now to get the reconsiliation ... would've made it feel less disconnected and like they were just trying to squeeze in the reveal about He Yan ^^
just my personal pet-peeves ramble I wanted out of my brain ^^
TOTALLY!!It doesn't make sense, especially when episode 1 has a 9. Where do they get that the series deserves…
yeah exactly that's why I called it 'targeted downvoting' quite a few acc have to rate it as 1-2 to gain such a drop in rating when it started out higher. If someone simply genuinly is disappointed with a show due to e.g. 'weak script' etc and rates it a 5 or whatever that's at least a real opinion, but voting this show as 1-2 after the 1.epi is clowning...
I will never understand targeted downvoting of shows, esp in an industry like BL that's very much still developing. Nobody forces you to watch BLs besides those of your favs, you simply can skip shows, but this need to drag everything down that isn't your personal fav will damage the BL industry by giving false feedback. (and damn it's a sorry excuse if you can only uplift your own fav by dragging down others...) We should be glad and at least appreciate the effort whenever production teams take on shows with different storylines, trying to expand beyond what we've already seen and allowing us to have a variety of genres & shows to choose from.
BTW if you have the chance def watch the uncut version on iqiyi it expands more on the charas' personalities and relationships with each other :) (but you can also get a rough impression of the uncut version by watching the reaction below)
7.7 ??? The first episode was so good, there’s no way the rating is that low
the ratings are dropping quick atm, so it's def a targeted downvote, sadly some clowns just can't accept that there are multiple good BLs out there besides their own fav...
Anyone who's undecided whether to give this show a chance esp if you might not know the 2 pairings: simply check it out for yourself with a cozy watch ;) Tastes are different and if this show isn't for you then that's ok there are many others out there... but we have too many clowns downvoting shows on purpose, so don't consider ratings when you're curious about a show, simply check for yourself :)
Personally I'm super happy I'll get to see my kiddos TleFirstone in a show with long epis and a storyline that's different than any highschool/college dramas and KengNamping get their chance to shine together :) hope the show can keep it up after a good 1. epi :)
it's even down to 7,8 now, you just Know some people probably didn't even watch the epi, but just wanna downvote it either for being a DMD show or cause it's not their ship lol ratings here are a joke XD
Look, I understand everyone's criticisms but I was thoroughly entertained the whole time and I also love CharlieBabe/PoohPavel…
it's not about media literacy, it's poorly executed & the scene was simply jarring af: they went right from the plot into the wedding scene so it's basically 'the enemies attending the wedding' and this is supposed to evoke some cozy/nostalgic feelings for the cast from the viewers?!? ^^ well most of the people commenting about it were either laughing about 'Tony at the wedding', wondering if it's an editing mistake until they realized what the show wanted to do with this scene or were seeing is as 'emotionally being taken out of the CharlieBabe wedding' scene... They e.g. simply could've given us an 'cast ensemble scene' after the credits or given us a longer bts compilation etc...
Ok, at least made it through the season and now I hope the actors are free from this show!!
Honestly the finale evoked 0 hype from me:
KimKenta had the most potential to be amazing this season if you consider their chara-backgrounds and starting out as enemies to lovers. but all we got were like 2 scenes with a bit of depth & growth for Kenta, 10 min of screen time in 13 epis and then we got Kenta kissing Kim back just for Kim to leave for Korea?!?! no further development for them together?!?! Kenta finding himself as person is all well and good but did it really have to be all we got for them?!?!?!
NorthSonic were among my favs in s1, but they were basically just decorations this season, sometimes literally just standing around in a scene and barely any dialogue related to their own chara & relationship development. So when they finally got together it felt underwhelming and I had already disconnected from the emotional involvment with the charas.
PeteChris chara writing was 'flat', I absolutely fell for PeteWay potential in s1, just their 'what could've been' is still haunting my fan-heart and Way was an interestingly layered chara. but this season's PeteChris were literally just used for NC scenes without any chara depth. e.g. even Chris suddenly showing up with a gun ready to shoot Tony didn't feel like a real chara aspect cause it was so disconnected from everything else...
Yes I know these 3 couples would always be 'just sidecouples' in PitBabe, but considering they were hyping the 'new pairings' during the promotions for the show + they're considered 'main charas'...I can't help but be disappointed with the crumbs we got...
Willy was an entertaining addition at the start from my POV, but fell flat since he was obv just a chara used as plot-device, at least it's nice he wasn't killed off ^^ (and glad I got introduced to Milk's acting here, hope he'll continue with other BLs, catching up with his old shows atm ^^)
Personally I don't quite vibe with CharlieBabe and AlanJeff, that's ok, different charas for different fans, but I have to say their relationships were less interesting than s1: CharlieBabe were STILL in a 'we don't communicate we just fvck' mindset for half the show + stuck in a cycle of keeping secrets. And when we thought finally some relationship development we got a poorly executed amnesia-plot for the rest of the season... AlanJeff: Alan being a hypocrite about keeping his health-issues a secret and then going down a betrayel-route letting Tony plant a chip in his head, just Idek what to say, whatever?!?! (I def liked s1 Alan better)
The wedding scene totally took me out, cause why were Tony & Winner there, lol, Idek, is this a dream-sequence or an 'united cast saying goodbye to fans scene' (but then why a fictional wedding with the enemy-charas attending)?? (also Winner was killing people this season and they just let him walk away, not even a single punch?)
Overall the storyline had quite a few plotholes and I rlly dislike how 'dumbed down' the charas were at times. I haven't even mentioned yet the 'important' project of the skill-nullyfying drug that was relegated to barely being referenced at the end, did all of them decide to lose their powers?
I overall like the actors enough to sit through these 13 epis, but I really hope for their future they'll get better written projects, cause fans might stick through poorly written scripts, but casual viewers might not. (luckily shows like Boys Journey exist, it's what got me emotionally connected to the actors otherwise I too might've moved on halfway through s2 XD)
I agree with you. I dropped out but waiting for my kentakim. I still watched but like skip a lot
no, we are allowed to have our own opinions and 'it's named after them' is a bad take: a series is not supposed to revolve around 2 people in a vacuum, if you want to have any kind of worldbuilding to it. That's exactly why this season is so bad, none of the other charas have any life/depth to them, there's no proper exploration anymore about ABO/powers in relation what it means for others (e.g. we don't even know the dynamics of the other charas in this show). There hasn't even been proper chara-growth for the 2 main-couples since their drama is repetitive behavior for CB and hypocritical for AJ...anyways, we'll disagree so have a good day...
Sorry rant, I just need this season to end and the actors be free from this series Franchise, please, cause I can't deal with this level of stupidity in the writing anymore??!?! (why do I hear rumors for s3?!?! NOOOO the actors deserve better!!)
They rlly ruined even the things that kept me holding on: North & Sonic got such an underwhelming get-together after being dragged out endlessly and now it's just back to them being background decoration. The writers don't give a single F about Kenta & Kim, they had like 2 great scenes together and otherwise the writers seem to forget that these charas even exist???
Pete & Chris had a difficult start with the 'Way baggage', but the charas overall don't have that spark anymore that caught my eye in S1. Way was my fav chara cause he was an interesting layered mess and Pete had great chemistry with him, just their melancholic 'what could've been' moments have me still thinking about them. The Pete & Chris of s2 seem forgettable & flat in the chara writing.
Willy introduced me to Milk's acting, so I'm glad for that, but otherwise it's obv that they've written him as tool for the plot not as actual chara (person)...
The 2 main couples have been stuck on repetitive & hypocritical storylines for half the season and leave me frustrated, so I rlly have to hold myself back from fasftforwarding ...
At this point they got me so far that I'm anxious about the other upcoming shows for these actors cause I'm gonna lose it if Most Beautiful Count & Goddess Bless You From Death will have such poorly written scripts with plotholes & 1-braincell-charas-actions & sidelining potentially interesting storylines...
