is it true they will make a second season ?
No. They confirmed today that they will not make a second season. However, they will still continue the story of Hua Yong, Shao You, Wen Lang, & Gao Tu through other media forms like audiobooks or extra chapters. As for the actors, they will in other dramas in their couple pairs (not sure if all 4 of them will work together).

The screenwriters of the show are the authors of the book. They are the same people. Usually when authors have a lot of control over a show/movie, they tried to make it 100% identical even the bad stuff too.

The directors of the show are the authors of the book. This is their first ever time directing. It really shows their inexperience. They are also the screenwriters, music directors, and producers of the show as well.

I don't think the book answered your questions clearly, so I will try my best to do so.

"How the hell Sheng Shaoyou survived?"
Its a miracle. This is not an example of bad writing since there are incidents of mothers having a hemorrhage and luckily surviving.

"Why Hua Yong is such a shit dad?"
He is a sociopath. He doesn't feel love the same way we do. His feeling of love is the feeling of pure obsession. It is his nature. He only likes Shao You. The only reason he likes Peanut is because Peanut has Shao You's blood in him and because Shao You likes Peanut. People tend to like their kid because it is their kid. In Hua Yong's case, he likes his kid because it is Shao You's kid.

"Why does Peanut call Shen Wenlang Dad too?"
Wen Lang is his godparent and treats him better than Hua Yong, thus Peanut calls Wen Lang "Dad" and Hua Yong by his name.

"What happened with Shen Wenlang and Gao Tu?"
You will find out in the book, specifically in the extra chapters.

A lot of people do think their ending is rushed, so your opinion is the minority.

Just because it is not different than in the book does not mean the show's ending is not rushed.

I will try my best to answer your questions.

"Would it have hurt to have a couple more episodes so it wouldn't be so rushed? Or just one?"
I heard that NongJian planned the series to have 24 episode, but they had to cut it down to 16 episodes, for some reason. I do hope that there will be a special episode. In 1 of the behind the scenes clip they shared a while back of Seeky & Ocean playing with the kids, it looks like they were taking a break from filming a scene, but looking at the outfits, it looks like the scene was never in the show. Either they cut it out or they will release it in a special episode later on.

"Was the baby full-term when Sheng started bleeding?"
Right after Hua Yong saved Wen Lang, there is a time skip with the words "a few months later" shown, meaning that Shao You have been carrying the baby for a while. However, in the book, it is said that Peanut was premature and was delivered at 8 months, so he was not carrying for full-term, but close enough.

"As for the second couple, Wenlang's weird zombie overdrive rut looked ridiculous. I'd rather see him all savage than in his silk bathrobe knocking like that. So...this happened after he was hospitalized?"
Personally, I really like that zombie walk lol he looks so scary & creepy like a ghost with a vengeance. However, him punch the door & window was stiff as it is clear that the actor was not using full force, but I will let that slide since I know that Ocean got hurt when filming the scene because the glass broke and he probably slowed down his movements to not let his hand bleed more. This was after he got into the hospital. Either he was released early or escaped or pretended he was fine to go home early.

"It looked like years went by after that with him not seeing Gao Tu and then they ran into each other and there's a hug."
The second timestamp says "3 years later".

"And what was that conversation between Sheng and Peanut and Hua Yong? Were they talking about Wenlang or Wenlang's dad? In prison? I was so confused. Or was it a metaphor, like in the dog house"
They were talking about Wen Lang. The dialogue is confusing, but you are correct that they were using a metaphor. He is not actually in the death row. They meant he is on thin ice with Gao Tu.

"And I guess they had a girl? I know more about that from seeing posts from people who have read the book than what they gave us in that short scene.) Also, do kids in China go to kindergarten at age 3?"
Who is having a girl? Shao You & Hua Yong never have a kid after Peanut because Hua Yong was scared that Shao You would die due to Peanut's traumatic birth. Gao Tu & Wen Lang were never showed to have a kid after Gao Tu in the book since the book ended when they just began their relationship. However, if they were to continue the book, it is likely that they will have more kids since a lot of fans believed that they are really head over heels over each other and would have a big family. According to Google, they can attend preschool at age 3 until 6 years old, but it is not required. However, it is common.

It took them 2 months so if they start a new series in 2 months we will be able to watch it next year
I think they started preparing for the show since March 2024 (I think) according to Ocean's most recent Weibo post. However, since they don't need to cast the main leads again because they are going to use the main 4, the preparation time will most likely be shorter. Plus, their next drama will be their second and not first, so they might do things a bit quicker. Probably not 2 months though (filming: yes, but everything else: no). Most likely we will get a new series at the end of next year since they haven't prepare anything yet for their next drama.

Thank you so much for writing this! I have seen that defense statement so much like just because it is in the book does not mean it is good nor does it mean it is the law. I am guessing a lot of people are being very lenient on this due to this show being the first fully fledged omegaverse series and it is NongJian's first work, so most of them are giving this high ratings and are sugarcoating their reviews. This is bad for NongJian since these reviewers are not being honest. If NongJian make another drama, people will not be lenient since it is not going to be an omegaverse (Desire is their only omegaverse work I think) and it is not longer their first show.

It is more like it is Kipuka rather than Mr. Sheng lol

Kipuka was on set that day even though he didn't have to since he had no scenes to be filmed. The crew allowed him to play an extra, so he can have some fun.

I would say it is fair since the ending of a show is very important along with the beginning. Even though the main couple ended well, the second couple ended not as well, so it makes sense to have a rating to go low due to how significant an ending is.

bro you all need to understand the fact the drama was mainly for hua and his wifey i know the ending was a bit…
You are correct that the drama is mainly for Hua Yong & Shao You, but that doesn't mean the ending for the second couple needs to be bad. There are shows out there that do justice for their couples (leads & secondaries).

Most people are complaining because they want to share their feelings to fellow viewers or just want to post their opinion out there (even if no one reads it). There are some people who do want their opinions to be heard, but it is mainly so that NJ won't repeat the same mistakes again in their next drama. However, there are some toxic comments.

It depends on the downvoter. Most downvoters I have come upon across just want to express their feelings to fellow viewers or just to share their opinion, even if no one reads it. There are some who do want NJ to hear their complaints by trying to get into contact with them, so they can improve on their next drama since most people are being lenient with NJ since this is their first drama & the first fully fledged omegaverse show, but they might not be lenient in the next show.

There are some toxic downvoters though.

A good amount of second couple fans are only watching the show for the second couple and some of them are only watching the second couple's scenes, so they are rating the entire show only thinking about the second couple, which is not a great way to rate a show.
