I don't get the complains about this show. When I first read them (before watching the series), I thought, oh not another crappy BL. But honestly, I was surprised. Fluke acting is great, Noh is even better than he was in Nittiman, and some of the secondary characters are played by really good actors. It is slow paced, but it is not terrible. There are a couple of things that don't make sense, but that happens in every Thai BL. The apple thing is a bit over played but I think we need to wait and see how it all turns out.
I haven't seen UWMA past Ep1, but Ohm acting is perhaps the weakest. Maybe it is not him, but the way the director had him play the character. Tsunderes are hard characters to play, so I don't blame him. Thus far, his character is the only one I don't really like. He is a piece of wood. No emotions in a sort of super human, unnatural kind of way (like when he wins the music contest, why not even a smile?). That's my biggest complaint. Oh, and the plant thing is a little weird... and why are all these stories about families who are rich beyond our wildest dreams? Why not set the drama around a middle class or lower class Thai Family?
Do not bring other drama in this forum. You can go back to Cutie Pie if you like that one more. It feels like…
Great points! I think the weakest point of SCOY is that Nuea seems to magically fall for Toh and the same thing happens to both partners in the second couple and third couple, though I think the Daisy story is a bit more credible on its own IMO.
But this series has a lot of positives points and you hit a lot of them in this post
I really recommend you trying a few more episodes. I dropped it the first time I tried. The WTH factor was pretty…
Oh I read your post. you make some great points.
I think you should keep an eye on our podcast, because soon I think we will cover Cutie Pie and SCOY. We did talked about both these series in the context of Toxic Masculinity and we seem to be on the same page in a lot of things. The podcast is called The BL Clinic and it is available on spotify.
Why does this series have such low rating? This sure is a winner this year..i would give 9+... it covered all BL…
I agree with you in a lot of things but I will say this series is not a 9 for me. I think Toh and Nuea are great but I wish the romance was more developed, especially for the 2nd and 3rd couple.
I think part of the reason they didn't develop the Toh Nuea relationship early on is because they wanted that scene were Toh asks Nuea why he loves him and his answer is a sort of "just because you are weird". I mean, it was great, but if they are going to do that with the main couple because it is essential to the story, then they should have developed the other two better.
Just my opinion. I mean, I loved the series and I would watch it again. Maybe I would skip all the super cringey stuff, but I think this series gave us some great moments and that's a rarity these days with so many series.. I mean, that scene in which Toh tops Nuea was great, the scene in which Jao gives Sky his "box" is super cute, and the list goes on....

Just as I suspected... So you came here to compare Cutie Pie with SCOY but you haven't even finished SCOY. See, I watch both, and I can tell you without a doubt that SCOY is superior.
Just look at all the mostly negative comments on the Cutie Pie page. And compare to the mostly positive comments in SCOY.
I think in general, the folks who watched SCOY all the way to the end were left more satisfied than those who stuck with CP all the way to the end. At least, this fan is. ;)
I hope you give it a try. Is it cringey? Oh dear God, yes it is. Is it silly? It is a comedy and it is inane and stupid way more than it probably should be. But Toh is adorable and him and Nuea are cute together.
Does it have issues? Oh, dear, do I have a list... :) But honestly, relative to everything else that was airing at the time, this is definitely one of the better ones.
How does this series have so many positive comments and 'Cutiepie' doesn't??This is was weired and very creepy.…
I watched both and I think SCOY has interesting characters and a much more cohesive storyline. It is much better than CutiePie in all but the acting. The acting in CutiePie is a little better.
Toh is not a stalker. He is just has an unhealthy obsession but he never stalks Nuea.
You should watch all 12 episodes before criticizing a series. Don't criticize something you haven't watched.
Not sure upto what episode you watched so there might be spoilers in my reply, just a heads up 😉Actually, Toh…
thank you for this. I am so annoyed at ppl who say this is stalking and it is wrong. I couldn't put my finger on it but I was like, nah this is so mild! Now I will use your reasoning to counter those who say Toh is a stalker ;)
summoning the courage to watch ep 10 cause i wanna finish this show
could you technically finish it by just watching the last 5 to 10 mins of ep 11 and 12? Because honestly, not much happen in this series. Like, you could watch the entire thing if you only watched Ep 1 and 2 and maybe the last 10 mins of Ep 11 and the last 10 of ep 12.
I have tried to stay quiet while watching this but I can't hold back my words on this any longer. Like who in…
I know you dont mean it but your words can be hurtful. Everyone deserves love, even ppl with mental disorders. In fact, sometimes love is one of the things they need the most.
