I honestly don't care WHAT it is. If Boom and Peak are in it, I'll watch it.
I love BoomPeak but I dont mind Boom and Peak as long as I get to see both of their beautiful faces and hear Booms soothing voice. BL or not, I shall watch.
ton is gettin on my nerves arghhh...does chon and his friends care that much abt him to hide who they are? i get…
Dumb and dense people like Ton exist in every big city in this world. I have lived in small and big town USA and I have encountered homophobes and racist ppl in both types of places.
New is actually a pretty well known actor under Thai youth. Plus, New hasn't done only BL -- Everyone has their…
Well, Mario Maurer is way more famous than New. Heck, Bright and Win are more famous than New if we go by the size of the instagram following. I think this was just a very subjective pick by the author. I am not arguing against it in the sense that this is her article and she says whatever she wants but for the uninitiated, they should known that New is neither the best actor nor the most famous one of his generation.
Disagreed. As a gay man, this show portrayed healthy non-toxic relationships better than most other shows.
what??? "Non-toxic"?
Solo's dad is in a toxic relationship with a man who pretty much adores him even when he gives him no affection (at least not in public).
Gui has decided to sacrifice his career so he can be with Solo.
PhuKao seem like a lovely couple but they have some weird power dynamics. Yes they are cute, but Phu barely gives him any affection. In fact, he sometimes plainly ignores him. Yes, things have changed but overall, I wouldn't call that relationship an exemplary relationship. They are my favorite couple in the show, but they are far from perfect.
How did your Thai drama journey start? With Love Sick. Netflix recommended it. I had tried to watch Underwear and Hormones but I didn't like them. I really thought the idea of a series about two high school boys falling in love was innovative so even though I hated ep 1, I stuck with it and well, I became addicted to Thai BL.
Do you have any tips for the newcomers? At first, the Thai language will sound like a bunch of random, guttural and raising sounds, but after several HOURS of listening to it, you will start hearing individual words. Just stick with it!
Are there any questions for us to settle any of your Inquiries? Not sure what you mean here but I am a bit surprised that you placed New as one of the outstanding actors when we have such awesome actors in Thai BL like Singto, Gun or Ohm. Ohm is a true thespian.
Do you predominantly watch Thailand’s BLs or Lakorns? BL. I have watched some Lakorns but I really like BLs.
Sorry but in what way is New capable of delivering great performances?
the author most be a fan of New. I agree. If I had to come up with a top Thai BL actor, I would say Singto or Ohm or Gun. Those are the 3 most consistent actors in Thai BL. New is not a great BL actor. He is also terrible in most of the straight dramas I have seen him in like in Wolf.
For future viewers:As someone who has read the novels (Oxygen & Nitrogen) before the series, I must say that the…
Your analysis of Guis and Solos interpersonal dynamics is similar to an analysis I did some time ago. Basically this to me is what bothered me the most about the show. Solo represents the projection of the prototypical heterosexual male into a seme: he is like a child and is emotionally distant and cold but opens up to the warm and motherly love of Gui. This is a heteronormative narrative juxtaposed onto a homosexual yaop storyline. It is abhorrent imo. Gay ppl dont always have such pathological dynamics. And lets not forget that like the good wife he represents, Gui sacrifices his professional career to be with Solo. Urg
I totally disagree. KeyChen's end monologues hint at the show's awareness, which was present all throughout the…
Yes. 100% agree that the key to understanding the point or morale of the show is thag inner monologue by Chen. Was the risk worth it? We will know soon enough.
Every one of your points is valid. It's a frustrating series because it added and changed so much from the original…
Interesting you say this because one of the things I found most frustrating about the IttPai story is that I don't get why Itt wants Pai to change. It made no sense. I liked the aspect of Pai coming out and how they treated that here but Itt was more creepy than he was cute.
I will take a look at your synopsis. Thank you for that!

Great article overall! Some great info here!
Sometimes you have to let go of your fears. We will learn in season 2 what the consequences are..
