The series will explore the darker side of the entertainment industry? And the tags are Romance and Comedy. Also.…
Since we haven't seen it, we don't know what this is about exactly. However, I am appalled that you think any relationship between a director and an actor has to be some type of abuse. In Hollywood (and I am sure Europe as well), it is pretty common for directors to get involved with the actors and vice versa. There has been many directors who have directed their spouse in a movie. We don't know if the relationship started BEFORE he was assigned to the movie, outside the movie, etc.
The #metoo movement is about abuse of power. If a director made a move on an actor, the actor told them no and the director used his or her power to remove the actor or made his or her life miserable on set, then that's another story. It is apple and oranges.
I am not watching. The audio is atrocious and it looks like the quality of the directing in the dramatic scenes…
We can disagree on that. I didnt like the overly dramatic scenes in My Extraordinary. Other than that, yes the directing was competent and even good sometimes.
I'll keep an eye on this, even though I don't really trust Asterisk after My Extraordinary.
I am not watching. The audio is atrocious and it looks like the quality of the directing in the dramatic scenes is worst than My Day. This is not going to be up to the standards of modern BLs (e.g. Gameboys, Gaya, most GMMTV BLs, etc.)... and also My Extraordinary's ending left me with little desire to watch anything from Asterisk (except for A kiss 2 Remember and that's only because the two male leads were amazing in their 2 minutes in My Extraordinary)
I did a little research on heart trasplant and it seems the highest a person can live is 5 years but if you are…
It is becoming more common for them to live over 10 years and younger and healthier patients can live longer than 20 years.
The thing is that if you have a heart transplant today and you make it to 25 years from now, you will be running into issues with your transplanted heart in the year 2046. Hopefully by that time there are other options for you.....
So Tian could live to grow an old man with his husband.... :)
I haven't read the source material for this show, but a lifetime of watching sad gay movies has preconditioned…
It is Thai BL. Even He's Coming To Me had a "happy" ending.... Well, there was The Shipper but that's an exception LOL
Seriously thought, I was thinking along the same lines, that IRL Tian would not live long because his heart transplant would fail eventually. Well, it seems I am on the wrong.... Younger transplant patients who are relatively fit can survive more than 20 years. Considering he is in his 20s, and that 20 years from now we could have other advances, it sounds like he could live a pretty long life. Maybe he can get another transplant 20 years from now? IDK
What would definitely kill him is the way he likes to live his life. Why did he try to get into a fight with those tea buyers? What happens if he looses his meds? He is so far from the hospital now... I would think you want to be close to your doctor for at least the first couple of months until you go through the growing pains of a new heart....
This has exceeded my expectations. As someone pointed out, there are some minor issues but this is one of the few First Episodes in a BL that gets a 9.5/10 for me.
Do you want to place any bets on who killed Torfun?
Whatever it is, I think it will be important later on. My guess is yes, it could be Tian's friend. Somehow I think it will be tied to Tian's collapse or his night of excess.
it's from novel and have nothing related to itazura na kiss hsdgdgg embarrassing
I see why ppl say they are similar. At the very least, the original Chinese version took a lot of concepts from Japanese shojou manga, of which Itazura na Kiss is a well known example.
But now that I have watched this version, I can say they are just similar. Some key aspects missing from this show thus far which I think are unique to InK are: the stolen kiss, living together (in the C-drama they are neighbors. Here they are too?), a dumb second lead, Naoki being good at everything.
But we do see some things clearly burrowed from Japanese shojou manga: the cold hearted tsundere, the daydreaming female lead, the male being super smart while the female is dumb, etc.
Thailand is having a bit of a feminist awakening right now, and GMM is known to be one of the more progressive…
I wouldn't call the Hana Yori Dango story a very progressive story considering that in the story the female is constantly rescued by the male lead and considering that this follows the idea that a female can be the catalyst for change in a man (in other words the character that transform and changes and sees significant growth is the male character).
GMMTV should just do GL. Now that would be progressive ;)
So a "Low Class" woman in Thailand is all of a sudden a Thai Chinese person? WHAT A JOKE. Talk about bending reality.…
You have some good points but I think it had be equally unfair to have someone else play it just because Bright is not fully "Thai" or is not "Thai Chinese".
I agree that the female character should have gone to someone from the provinces or an ethnic minority. I am not sure how realistic that is, considering the history of colorism in Thailand and the fact that the only time I have heard a Northern Dialect spoken (at least in Thai BL) is when they want to characterize someone as being dumb, uneducated, or incomprehensible. Baby steps?

Deep breath! OMG OMG OMG....
I need to sit down.... :)
