idk how or if this will be portrayed in the series but Bright said on twitter that he thinks that Sarawat is gay…
you know when the first episode aired I kept insisting that Sarawat was gay, not just attracted to Tine, but gay. ...
I always thought that Tine was gay, just not out... We will see if that prediction is also true. I don't mind if they make Tine bisexual but right now I don't think Tine comes off as bisexual to me.....
Who else here got the strongest second lead syndrome ever with this one? I have watched other Asian shows but certainly this is the one that caused me the most grief. Daichi may have been annoying at times but he was cute and OMG he is such a handsome guy.
I think it's cause before they started living together, uehara would be so exhausted from working that he wouldn't…
do you know the actual title in Japanese for the Manga? Is it just Good Morning Call in katakana or does it have a Japanese title? That would help deciphering the meaning
See I didn’t even know he was half Caucasian and I still thought he looked like one of the cast from 90210 or…
Ugh but in the original 90210, they are ugly with like one exception but you are right a lot of people think Luke Perry was really hot, but I never did. So its all relative.
I think I can only think of a few shows in the USA where the casting is done like it is in Thai BL, with emphasis on talent and attractiveness LOL
Look at QAF USA, great show, how many attractive cast members?
Look at a mainstream US show like Game of Thrones (I have actually never watch it but I have seen snippets), how many attractive cast members?
But I said "most" I didn't say all..... So there are exceptions!!!
God, I sound superficial. I am not. I am merely comparing US vs Thai shows.... :)
The more I watch Bright, the more obvious it is that this guy is 95% Caucasian. Not that it matters, but the Asian…
He looks Thai enough but I get what you say. He is panasian. Technically he is American-Thai. We call that in the USA, White not caucasian although some people still use the term caucasian.
I love his looks. You can tell he is mixed but I wouldnt go as far as to say he doesn't look Thai.
When I found out he was American Thai it didn't surprise me but I actually didn't think he was not Asian ever...
Similar in what way? Just so I can narrow it down...Honestly, Addicted and TharnType have some issues like consent/sexual…
The trick with lovesick is to watch the first episode, erase it from memory and rewatch after you have watched at least the entire first season.
The first episode was a disaster and the series almost tanked because of it. It was very badly received. Rumor has it, they fixed things but I just think that the first episode was bad because they didn't know how to do a first episode.
As someone who has watched lovesick season one multiple times, I suggest you watch episode 2 - 5 before making any judgement.
Also, a hint to understand a very crucial scene. When you see goldfish, think sex. Think of the goldfish as being Noh and Phun!
Lovesick is not that old. The second season began airing in 2015. Fanmeets occured probably well into 2016. Thus, the whole thing is less than 5 years old. By comparison, SOTUS aired one in 2016 and Love by Chance aired two years later in 2018. The entire Thai BL industry is not that old. I find that technology references in Lovesick don't seem too out of date. The book is another story and the show did use some things from the book (like a CD that has certain pictures that plays an important role in season 2... why a CD? why not a USB? Is not because the show is old but because they were faithful to the novel and didn't change it appropriately... )
I think if you watch He's Coming to Me, you will love it. I highly recommend it! The coming out scene is the best coming out scene I have seen in any show or movie... Ohm Pawat is a great actor. I have never cried that much in a BL show...
Kate, you are not confused at all. :) Everything you said seems spot on. Thanks for writing it down.
I wonder how many people have the same confusion I have, which is that I don't know if I love Sarawat or Tine more.
Tine is adorable when he smiles. Tine has the most edible lips on all of Thai BL. I have never seen such delicious lips.
Sarawat is so cute, I want to put him in my pocket and take him home. He is 100% boyfriend material. Bright's lips are very pretty, not as luscious as Win but equally kissable.
Speaking of lips, I expect my TV to catch on fire when these two kiss. Like, really. Either my TV catches on fire or I will spontaneously combust from the hotness of them kissing.
Similar in what way? Just so I can narrow it down...Honestly, Addicted and TharnType have some issues like consent/sexual…
He is Coming To me is not scifi. Remember, the idea of reincarnation and ghosts are part of Thai culture (even in 2gether you see how Tine is so scared of ghosts!).
You have a dilemma in your hands because IMO, nothing I have watch compares to this show except the daddy of them all, Lovesick. I think Lovesick is the only show that is similar to this show in terms of the cuteness but is is SLOW and it takes a long time to get to the good stuff. If you haven't watch Lovesick, then I would say do that one first...
He is Coming to me is much shorter. It is very sweet. I can assure you the ending will not be 100% sad.
If you respect Thai culture, and want to learn more about their beliefs, then you should watch it. It is the most "Thai" of all the BLs out there. Even the ending is very Thai lakorn...
I agree that none of the other shows they recommended here can be compared to 2gether. Again, the closest I can think of is Lovesick. Its an older show, its the daddy of them all, and it is too long at 48 episodes but there is a BL cut that you can watch a little faster. Acting is ok. Captain is great and White is competent with some exceptions. A lot of now well-known actors show up on it, including two that are in 2gether, Toptap and Gunsmile, and one who is in He is Coming To Me, Sing.
I doubt this is true. They would not have called it "The Series". In thailand they only do that if they have the intention of doing a follow up season.
I always thought that Tine was gay, just not out... We will see if that prediction is also true. I don't mind if they make Tine bisexual but right now I don't think Tine comes off as bisexual to me.....
I agree, taste change with time. What was hot in the 60s is not hot anymore.... And yes, fashion plays a big role too in what we find attractive.
Sorry to say, I am not interested in GoT at all. Not even a little bit.
Its cool that you can watch BL and GoT... Two very different generas!

So no, I don't agree with this at all!!!! He is way more attractive!!!!!
I love his looks. You can tell he is mixed but I wouldnt go as far as to say he doesn't look Thai.
When I found out he was American Thai it didn't surprise me but I actually didn't think he was not Asian ever...
In the USA we are on that same road and I, like you, think that this show is the highlight of my week.
I may add My Engineer to my list of shows to watch this weekend :) So much BL!!!
Cheers from Pennsylvania USA
