You all Tharntype fans always have to compare this with other dramas. Can't you all enjoy this drama without comparing???
I am merely stating facts. I saw somewhere else that UWMA has more views per episode on LINETV. Love by Chance has the highest of any BL show as far as I know.
I find it interesting that this show has more comments.
You can draw your own conclusions. I am merely pointing out the facts...
UWMA may have higher viewership but by far this show will break all records for Thai BL in terms of most comments on MDL!!! (Right now Love By Chance has more comments at 6k BUT that was 1 year ago)
I have the same feeling and I hope it doesn't go where I think...which is the dad firing his mom and then that…
Nah, I don't think he will fire her. I think one of two things will happen: 1) Non and Kao will have a terrible way to explain what the dad just saw and the dad will be suspicious, or 2) The dad will think the worst and will kick Non out of the house. This will force Kao to shelter him and Pete will be SOOOOO mad....
I do think that the Non's dad will tell Kao's mom. I just don't see any reason why he would fire her. Doesn't make sense to me.
I am sure someone that read the novel knows but I don't want to know. I rather be surprised!
In KMA Kao seemed rather open about his sexuality. I remember clearly how he looked at Sun with those heart eyes…
Pete is like Phun in LS and Kao is like Noh in LS.
I agree with you (aren't I doing that a lot lately?!). I think that the worst thing about Kao is how he acts so cold to Pete (with very few exceptions).
I think the writers are trying to craft the argument that Pete has been upset with Kao all this time because Kao won't acknowledge their relationship, which has made Pete feel insecure.
I am actually fine with this idea, but I think it could have been paced differently and that it should have focused more on the coming out aspect. It is interesting to note that none of this is very original considering that LS2 dealt with a similar issue towards the end of the season, with Phun being insecure about Noh's feelings towards him.
Once more I am probably going to be in a minority here but I actually LIKED this episode.
It wasn't perfect but it was good.
What I liked A LOT: *When Pete says to his dad he is not going to go to bed angry *When Mork says "I like men but I don't like the kind of men your brother is" (or something to that effect)... I am again convinced this is one for the history books. MORK IS GAY. He is an LGBQT character. *When Rain tells Mork that he will always be there for him *When Pete is in that swimsuit... oh, my eyes kept having a hard time focusing on the captions *The way Pete is also being played out as a gay character. This is not common in Thai BL *Someone said this below and I agree 100%, Pete is sexy in this episode *When Mork tells that girl, thanks but no thanks when she insinuates herself. Finally a male BL character who behaves like a real gentlemen with the ladies but makes it clear he is gay
What I didn't like: *The telenovela/lakron-esque scene with Mork, Sun, and Rain, when Sun enters the hospital room and starts demanding that Mork broke his promise. He deserved a slap. Rain may be the little brother but he should have slapped him. The whole thing felt like I was watching a regular Thai Lakron (even the music sounded like a lakron) *I am sorry but I most once again complain about New's lack of emoting. First, he had 0 reaction to the breakup. Then he had 0 reaction to Pete's cold shoulder. Then he had 0 reaction in his face when they are at the swimming pool and Pete is like, yeah there won't be another day (or whatever he said!). His only semi-genuine emotion came in that scene with his mom but too little too late. All we get from him is "sad puppy face" and its getting tiring. *Also, did Sun just really left the barista job for another barista job somewhere else? He is such a coffee-whore. I am dissapointed :P JK
I said this MANY times. Tharn is getting verbal and physical abuse from Type. It's so much yet it gets looked…
I dont know if you are asking me but the reason I am still a fan is because the series has done well with other aspects of the relationship. I see myself a lot in Type and Tharn.

When I say cultural, I mean, in Thai culture it seems that the portrayal of domestic violence gets a free pass (google slap kiss lakorns).
I am not saying its OK or that I think Thai men are violent. I am just pointing out to the fact that we are consuming stuff not meant for our Western eyes (well, in my case), and so sometimes we may judge harder than the local consumers.
But I like @Chellebration point, that the writers should have assumed some responsibility about it...
LOL In the first episode when he took his shirt off, even though he isn't toned and even though he look a bit funny trying to pull a "I am sexy and I know it", and even though he has a bit of a tummy, I still enjoy looking at him with his shirt off :) :P
More than Pete, I think Tay Tawan is just such an odd combination of sexy and cute. Have you watched him on OffGun Season 2? That bit when he is dancing with Joss? OMG cuteness overload.
come think about it, Tay does not need to take his shirt off to be hot.
I am a bit behind so a quick comment on Episode 9 and the slap/kiss Lakron trope we got on it...
Is Tharn's face made of rubber? That didn't even hurt! And then 10 minutes later he is laughing?
I have to say, weakest part of the show so far. I am tempted to blame the writer but ultimately both the director and the actors share some responsibility. Gulf acting was pretty decent as usual, but Mew could have acted a bit more shocked and hurt. I also would have suggested to make it a slap or a hard shove instead of a punch. I replayed the scene once or twice and it looked like a punch... I think a hard shove would have serve the same purpose of "I am mad" without having to deal with the consequences.
The issue of course is that they choose not to deal with the consequences. Tharn's face is as pretty as it always is, no blemishes. And when Type says, "I am sorry", I was excited that they would deal with it but then.... they didn't... And Tharn was not even bothered by it.
I get it. Its not my culture and I am a mere observer. I am consuming what they create and I have to respect the cultural differences but I can't help but think that it would suck to be a women or a gay man in a society that sees this kind of violence as not even worth thinking about it. Its a pity because I love so many other aspects of Thai culture, but this is not one of them.
The year is almost done. I still have to watch UWMA but technically that won't be done until next year, right?
So..... here we are at the end of 2019. TharnType has been amazing so far BUT I still go back to this one. Was this the best BL in 2019?
I think for sure this is the best underrated show of the year. I don't even know why anyone would rate this anything other than a 9.0 or a 10. The acting is superb, the story is original, the coming out scene is a classic, the kissing scenes were sweet, Ohm is "naked" on this, the ending is bittersweet, and there are some funny moments too. Also, let's not forget the side characters are played by two amazing BL actors, Chimon and Ssing.... And I don't know about you, but Sing makes me laugh just with the faces he makes...
This needs to be rated higher! This needs to win an award for Ohm and Singto!

You are right, he is delectable in this episode.
During the swimming pool scene, I had a hard time keeping my eyes on the captions. LOL

It makes you wonder if Gulf and Mew will be part of the LBC2 cast. Does anyone know?
