The year is almost done. I still have to watch UWMA but technically that won't be done until next year, right?
So..... here we are at the end of 2019. TharnType has been amazing so far BUT I still go back to this one. Was this the best BL in 2019?
I think for sure this is the best underrated show of the year. I don't even know why anyone would rate this anything other than a 9.0 or a 10. The acting is superb, the story is original, the coming out scene is a classic, the kissing scenes were sweet, Ohm is "naked" on this, the ending is bittersweet, and there are some funny moments too. Also, let's not forget the side characters are played by two amazing BL actors, Chimon and Ssing.... And I don't know about you, but Sing makes me laugh just with the faces he makes...
This needs to be rated higher! This needs to win an award for Ohm and Singto!
I agree the ending didn't go where I would have expected or wanted it to go but I don't think it was lame. I would even say it was bittersweet. We know Mes will never age but Thun will. I also was sadden by the fact that they will probably never be able to have a "normal" life as a couple. And of course, I wans't too happy about the melodramatic climax or the fact that grandpa didn't pay the price for what he did BUT that is a Thai thing, the whole family and forgiveness and the Budhist idea of never carrying any kind of grief or resent with you. The same resolution also happened in the highly acclaimed lakron from 2018, In Family We Trust, with forgiveness being handed out too easily. Its a cultural thing and I can't be mad at them for that!
(intermediate-level, but imho) "forever" feels closer https://jisho.org/search/どこまでも...but I think you…
but DOKO refers to WHERE as in WHEREVER. While MADE is UNTILmo is ALSO??? So I was thinking its closer to wherever.
But I also wondered if, as you say, it encompasses both time and space...
I have heard that KONO MAMA is impossible to translate word for word and its more a concept so here I am wondering the same, if perhaps this is a phrase that doesn't have a literal or direct translation!! She will love him, wherever he goes no matter how much time passes??????
Question to folks fluent in Japanese.... Should the title be "love will continue forever" or should it be "love will continue whenever" ? Doko made mo should be "whenever", right?
I agree with everything you said. I was SO excited for DBK once I saw the trailer. The trailer was very misleading.…
I understand what you are saying. Unlike other BL shows, in this one almost all the plot elements are intentional. For example, the reason that Pete is jealous is because Kao is not open about their love. The jealousy element with Non is really part of the internal conflict in their relationship.
Unlike the usual BL plot line, Kitty has become the catalyst for the SunMork relationship. While true that other characters could have served that role (Rain), they added Kitty and used her wisely IMO. Besides the fact that this led directly to a scene that may well go on the history books for Thai BL, with Kitty saying that Sun does not like "girls" and then saying that she too is also starting to feel that she likes girls.
But you are correct, they have WASTED so many episodes with setting all of these plot elements when they could have set everything up in 3 - 4 episodes.
This drama hasn't been my fave. I actually believe they should have just made a spinoff with Mork and sun and…
I can't agree with you more.
This episode was an improvement for Pete and Kao. And I LOVED that sweet scene between Kitty and Mork. It was a great moment, maybe one for the BL history books...
I pretty much skipped the ending of the episode because that whole gangster subplot is really stupid. And now wounded Mork is going to be taken care of by Sun who will feel guilty about what happened... so cliche...
I wished they could have been more original with this part of the plot. I mean, I am still loving SunMork and I can't wait to see what happens with them next week but oh the gangster are cringe worthy.

This episode was an improvement. I enjoyed their scenes a bit more and I especially liked when Pete asked about getting married... I hope that is a hint to where this is going :)
me too, all the technicalities that most people mention are explainable and actually acceptable.i see a lot of…
I will join the chorus here and say its not the lack of kissing scenes. Look, I am gay, if I want to see two men kissing I can just kiss with my husband in front of a mirror :P I am not here for that.
I LOVE Lovesick. I have watched and rewatched so many times. Lovesick has very few kisses and almost 0 sex scenes (unless you count the goldfish scene?). So, why did I liked lovesick so much? because it was cute and romantic! I think Pete and Kao could have more "moments" like this episode holding hand moment or when Pete asked about being married... Those are cute moments that are important to develop the relationship. We want them to be romantic with each other...
I honestly don't think you need intense kisses to be a great BL, though some scenes do call for a kiss and using hugs instead of kisses can bring a scene down (I am looking at you Make it Right) but overall a show can be successful without too many kissing scenes IMO.
that was my favorite part. To have a main female character come out like she was in Friday College (yeah, I do like girls too) and to have Sun be a guy who "doesn't like girls" was great.
The angst is worst than a Mexican Telenovela, right? :) The next episode will have a lot of drama for sure! BTW El intro de la serie me recuerda a la musica de una telenovela, verdad?

Just my opinion of course!!!!

I hope this is a shift in Thai BL :)
