Gong Jun is on my top no- watch list. I really loved Su Mu Yu character in TBOY and wanted to give “Blood River” a try. He did such an injustice to the great character. I was like how do these people even get casted. Don’t these directors and others have some sense. As you said, he just smirks all the time. Not only in this drama. I have the same trouble with Xu Kai. He purses his lips too much and it’s too repetitive and annoying.

But the Du guy intended to simply ruin her; I doubt he had any long-term plan with her.

She does feel the staring sometimes, and most of the time she is confused about why he is staring at her. For instance, at the camp, when he went to pick her up, he was staring at her, and she asked, "Did I do something wrong?" The other time (when he tapped her on the shoulder), she felt uncomfortable as well, but she didn't dare to think differently.

Did anyone watch the episode 18 teaser and notice that Xiao Lian is missing when the maids are celebrating with drinks for overcoming the plague or something?

You are lucky. You have 14 episodes to watch unlike some of us who are all caught up and are at the mercy of the broadcasters.

Looks like by episode 18, we will get rid of the Du sibling?
