Narco Saints won Best Director and Best Actor awards in Director's Cut awards. Korea Film Director’s Network (KFDN) represents a group of around 300 filmmakers from Korea. Don't trust MDL rating or comments on N-S, it's a masterpiece.

Hidden gems are typically k-dramas from 2012-2017, before Netflix times and not "pushed" by Viki but still there. MDL ratings tend to be low for the intelligent high-quality k-dramas with a well written dialogue. I didn't see any on the list I'd personally think of hidden or gems after having watched 355 k-dramas, but. Added my own in case someone takes an interest. Generally hidden gems lists are useful.

If you liked Beyond Evil, you'll definitely like Cruel City. Both are awesome in their constant twists and turns, mind games and blurring of the boundaries between good guys and bad guys. Cruel City is more action packed (the ml got shot or stabbed in almost every episode...) and thus not boring for one minute. The psychological manipulation that is slowly revealed is so unfair and twisted it just takes your breath away. The ending is satisfactory in the sense that the criminals own their actions and justice wins.

would be awesome if he accepts it. Would want to watch anything he's in. Search is one his great underrated dramas.

It is objectively true that Goblin used to be called a fantasy drama and now people call it an age gap romance. Newspeak. Wokeists miss a lot of great dramas. If k-drama adopts wokeist agendas, I'm out.

After Matrimonial Chaos, I watched the One and Only. It's such a beautiful and well-written drama. One of the very best (I've watched 350 k-dramas so far). Near-perfect. Plenty of food for thought. Hope to see more dramas like it!

Random comment: I'm watching Cruel City right now it's excellent. Many ongoing k-dramas are much more boring than circa 2017 k-dramas.

It's very romantic imo. There's some mandatory palace plotting but it's not dreary.

Secret Garden didn't age well, the fl starts as a strong stunt woman and ends up as a doormat basically. There's no exploration as to what the gender swapping taught them. Coffee Prince didn't age at all, imo.

Age gaps matter only in wokeists' bubbles. not in dramas, not in real life. No hurt ever came to Kim Go Eun for acting in this masterpiece drama. Highly respected actress then and now.

You Are My Spring is a very good drama to watch. Temperature of Love is lovely, but a planned drop at ep 10 is recommended (it gets repetitive)

Psychopath Diary is just one example. Most psycho roles are overacted so much it hurts to watch. The most recent example is in Alchemy of Souls s2. Laugh all you want, in the minority.

Also King in Love, one of the most romantic k-dramas imo, loved it.

"Should take lessons from Dong Wook" makes me think you're Dong Wook's manager. I could never understand people who like Dong Wook. But to each their own I guess.

Personally I could stand Dong Wook only in Goblin. Can't watch him in anything else.
