I watched the French original, all 3 seasons. But it took me 5 minutes to realize that French culture doesn't translate to Korea. 5 minutes and drop. Remakes only make sense if they are completely rewritten, like Prison Playbook. Reviewers say this wasn't even adapted to Korean entertainment industry (thanks reviewers!). I thought the guest actors might be interesting, but it's not Korean culture for actors to act like larger-than-life divas, is it. Anyways, I really enjoyed original k-dramas The Producers as well as Shooting Stars. Despite their shortcomings, I felt they were quite realistic and not without spikiness. When k-drama is itself the highest level, why do remakes....
I like Siwan-Seolhyun couple so much. Adorable and beautiful souls coming together. Great to watch. Healing, comforting drama. It's very difficult to wait for a week. BTW tried to add the tag slow burn romance bc this is exactly what this is, but it was turned down. I don't think genre & style tags should require an external source. Tagging is site-specific.
Liked their story up to a point. It was getting dragged, quite boring and FL stoic and boring expression or acting.…
agree. her acting is really weird. Stoneface and aloof. I don't know what she meant to express but it's clearly at odds with how the character was supposed to be. If she didn't have enough dialogue she should have doubled the effort for emotional expression.
I regret having started this. I thought it would be more about mathematics, but it's mostly about the class issues, school corruption and bullying. Maybe I'll finish it, but should have checked out the writer before starting. I dropped Jekyll, Hyde and Me at the 7th ep. Have arrived at the same "no more of this" feeling at 7th ep of Melancholia. I'm so disappointed that they went back to the horrendous school environment as grown ups. Expected this to shift to their grown up lives and real maths research. There's not enough intelligence in the drama really, or what there is is just a failed effort to come across as intelligent. The dialogues are lacking in depth. The FL is oddly stonefaced all the time. Choi Do Hyun is pretty similar in all his roles. FLs father, the math professor, seems like the only really sympathetic character. There are so many better dramas about class divisions and school corruption, like Extraordinary You and School 2017 which I'd really recommend instead of this also for the romance dimension.
Very sympathetic small short drama. Highly recommended. I wish there were more dramas like this. Nothing bad happens. Small things in life are appreciated. Fantastic acting from each and everyone in the cast. 8/10.
Did anyone else notice that they did the same thing with the horse in ep 12 as in King of Tears Lee Bang Won? Full flip landing uncontrallably head first. I don't believe the horse survived in this drama either. So violent and unnecessary.
not understanding the minyoung hate she hasnt even had enough screen time for everyone to be hating on her :((
she's a great actress, one of the very best. so they had good reasons to cast her. This isn't a romance drama so I don't get the hating. I do know that we all have our likes and dislikes in actors but.
