On Love Is for Suckers Nov 24, 2022
Just a sidenote: all of the outfits of the FL have been so ugly and uncool. ML, likewise. But FL is so uncomfortable is those outfits. it's really distracting. Stylistic catastrophy. But it's just my taste I guess.

I think you're right. Good comment.

I like how the kept the manga feel in this adaptation. The roots are clearly visible. That's not very common imo.

Title Taxi Driver
I need another action drama as good as this, where everyone and everybody fights and the villain is interesting…

The 8 votes limit doesn't allow me to add the shows.

Pls add Narco-Saints, Today's Webtoon, Thirty-Nine, Cafe Minamdang, Bad Prosecutor, Forecasting Love and Weather, Alice The Final Weapon (all of them for me much better than some dramas that are on the list)

Tbh I chose this to watch Yeo Jin Goos always top notch acting and because Hong Jong Huyn was so good in King in Love. They didn't disappoint, this was fun to watch in the first half. Nothing very original, since it seems to be a remake. FL was quite natural and likeable. The villains were very stupidly written and obnoxious. I skipped everything with them. Also skipped most of the last episodes. A lot of unnnecessary filler stuff. But I can understand why Yeo Jin Goo wanted to do this after The Crowned Clown, which was very heavy. Aside from YJG, this was of the type "just-to-pass-the-time-before-embarking-on-a-more-serious-drama". 7.5

It goes without saying that 30,000+ ratings (which popular dramas have) are more trustworthy than 1000 ratings. People whose hobby is k-drama only, may not really dig the mixing of countries. If you're going to start mixing, why not put Scandinavia or France in the blend as well? Flower of Evil, Beyond Evil, Through the Darkness and the like are not very different from highly esteemed Nordic Noir dramas. I'm guessing the choice to mix k, c & j-drama could be based on funding, and as I am grateful for this site, I am wholly okay with it. No complaints. Just one thing: when adopting a thing like k-drama as a real hobby (it's worth it), there a lot of studying on going concerning genres, actors, directors, writers. It would be overwhelming to start the same process from scratch concerning c-drama or j-drama just because people who write editorials seem to think it's mandatory (this is the second article in the same vein). Okay we get it that Chinese costume dramas are required watching for each and everyone. But in fact there is no such thing as an objectively classic drama since our opinions are always influenced by our whole viewing history and experience. Ratings are slanted toward newer dramas because many MDLers landed here during the past 1-2 years. A lot of classics (from before 2019) have a rating of 8.5-8.6 or less. Btw, This is not the only sm site where The Untamed fans (probably because of the strong bl theme) have a stronghold (Archive of Our Own is one example).

The absence of older classic dramas really makes this pretty unreliable, though the project was a nice idea. Since…

I enjoyed this at the beginning, great combo of action and humour. The last 2 episodes got a bit draggy for me. Or the illogicalities like not backing up files were too much. The court session wasn't credible at all. Overall, all the actors were great. Especially D.O. became a reason to watch till the end. I didn't want more backstories tbh, 10 episodes would have been a better lenght imo. Kim Chang Wan was really fantastic here, am happy he got to do such a different role. Hope to see more of Lee Se Hee as FL, she had a great bright vibe going here.

Title Little Women
High quality drama (9/10). The writing and directing are really top notch. The director gives great support for the actors to do their very best, hope she gets awarded since this is another bright victory of hers. The antagonist couple are particularly memorable. And whoever designed the settings, just awesome. The cinematography, also flawless. Especially enjoyed the trip to Singapore (mini-travel experience at home lol). Even though this is not my fave genre, the suspense was grabbing. After the first 15 mins it's a rollercoaster ride. Hoping to watch new dramas from the writer soon. As for the actors, Kim Go Eun is always good, for Nam Ji Hyun this is the best role she has done. Park Ji Joo is fantastic here, hope she gets an award.

hmm..another romcom. leading actress sure knows her lane and stays in it.
interestingly, the last episode also hinted a way out: a small indie film. Let's see what she decides. Interesting.
