Maybe now that we have this article and there's an awareness of Han Seok Kyu's achievements someone will finally accept my revisions to the text about Han Seok Kyu and his career in MDL. The MDL text is *more than weird* (e.g., that his role got a "lukewarm reception"). Hope someone with mastery of English will also read and respond here (I got no answers in the VIP forum). I don't understand why improvements are not allowed based on published sources. Let's remember that Wikipedia is also user written. I guess it doesn't matter much what the MDL Han Seok Kyu description says. But still.

This is just as arty and stuffy as the title implies. Nothing that we haven't seen countless times before in european indie cinema. I wouldn't recommend. (6/10)

I like some actors, some actors I don't. Nothing to do with gender. We like some people's acting, some others acting feels just barely tolerable. It's also about reading people, we get the feeling about personalities through the acting as well. SHK comes across as offputting to me (I can't help it, it's just a feeling), Han So Hee comes across as very sweet. They'll be successful regardless of whether I want to watch them or not. In SHK's case, having so many flops should be a warning sign as far as new productions are concerned. From the point of view of the production, not my own since I have plenty of choice of what to watch.

The closest equivalents are law k-dramas - in terms of law cases, Memory and I Can Hear Your Voice. Not American law dramas. Who wants spicy and exciting when you can watch a patient with early onset Alzheimers dealing with difficult law cases with the help of his team (Memory). I'm glad you're realizing that we're different. Very.

Kingdom is different genre altogether. The closest thing to this is Secret Royal Inspector & Joy. Also ensemble drama and found family trope (which I love).

Kim Min Jae has a very low voice. Always. Perhaps you meant Man Bok? That actor's special skill is making his eyes very big. The staring contest with the snake was hilarious.

Yeah well. The principle with the road tolls is my thing exactly. American dramas I well never ever watch again.

Ep. 8 again had me crying so hard. Wookie in an ahjumma sunhat picking vegetables made me smile. Little things like that are everything. But pretty afraid I'll be sobbing uncontrollably when Son dies. Although I know it's going to be beautiful too.

Sound of Magic and If You Wish Upon Me are bright victories.

I love PEB and I hope and believe that she's able to say no if she feels there should be no 2nd season. The risk of it being subpar is quite real. You're perhaps right in saying it should be left as is and better rewatch 1st season. (Personally I went through 4 seasons of Better Call Saul before leaving and I guess they are still rolling out new seasons - the k-drama one season model is vastly better). 2nd season successes are rare. Hospital Playlist 2 and Dr. Romantic 2 come to mind but they were somewhat repetitive. But we people complain about this and that - it's just we're all different. I see a lot of complaining about dramas that have not aired yet or haven't even started shooting. But in the EAW case I think there's a lot of potential for new interesting law cases and I'd definitely watch a 2nd season.

Me too, I don't believe she has said anything like that. People are now making/writing their own stories around PEB, unfortunately.

Some people have to deal with people having mental issues IRL so thanks for the sympathy. I can't really explain the uneasiness with the romance part but it's just a feeling some of us can't shake off. We laugh, we cry, with k-dramas like EAW and I love it, but I'd love it better without the romance.

People assume that women have difficulties saying no - probably a problem for themselves and they assume other women would be similar. Law cases are of the essence and plenty more cases for me please.

I don't agree at all. That's just your opinion. The cases were the essence. All of them not equally interesting, but mostly delicate and difficult social topics handled in a very fine manner. No poor writing imo, writer deserves to sweep all the possible awards. There's plenty reasons for season 2. Coming up with new cases will not be difficult at all. Kang Tae Oh popularity is not a reason to not do another season. Don't ever think your opinion is the only right one, we're all different. Even though all the KTO fans will agree with you.

I love this drama but I think the law cases, Woo and the Hanbada crew are interesting and delightful enough without the romance thread. It's not the best thing in this drama, to me. Maybe I find it even slightly cringey. The difficulty with people with handicaps to experience love (incl physical) was handled in a very fine and discreet manner in one of the episodes. Don't kill me, I just see so much focus on KTO as Lee Junho. People are even mixing the fictional character Lee Junho with the real person Kang Tae Oh. To me, that's not very sane and I wish it wasn't happening. Even though Lee Junho is a well written character, the whole drama is good and there are plenty of equally good/exemplary male characters in other k-dramas. All of this "green light" rave - there are issues in society causing it, I know. KTO is a great actor as already seen in Run On and Tale of Nokdu. But somehow the rave around this one drama character is just overblown imo.

Totally agree. In addition, I don't think she said these things in reality. People are starting a feminist campaign where it's clearly not warranted. PEB has a difficult role but my work is difficult too. Any work is just work. And PEB has more choices available than most of us. She's not a victim of anything or anyone. People are starting to throw mud on EAW which is so precious. I'd like to see them just being grateful for getting a 2nd season. About point 2: It's good that you put the discussion around PEB in context. Really. There's a lot of unhappiness in Korea which leads to toxicity emerging in places which have nothing to do with the underlying reasons.
