I read her character doesn't appear much in the book but since she's 2nd billed and there are many reuters of her i thought maybe they increased her screentime a little. But i'm a little worried because this drama passed review earlier in 2024 and the episodes changed from 40 to 35. I don't know is there a chance that they cut her scenes after what happened, to pass review and release it easier? I think her character looks interesting so i hope that's not the case..

The mourning period was strict for both men and women. It's not really unusual but dramas generally pass these things. Also if you have noticed her hair and outfit is not similar to other married women. It's because of that. They're married in law but since she's in her mourning period she still has her hair like an unmarried girl and wears mostly light colored clothes.

In the drama she's in a one year mourning period because of her grandfathers death(mourning periods like this existed back then). But this didn't happen in the novel as her grandfather was already dead.

I think it mostly has to do with people empathizing more with XQ rather than not understanding WS. Since their intimate relationship in the novel started without love and XQ wasn't really in the position to simply reject him.

It started in mid May with IU and for now they mostly do outdoor scenes. Now that Wooseok returned to korea he will join the crew too.

What kind of a kiss you expected from characters that have never been in previous relationships? Honestly it was ENOUGH for a first kiss.

I think it's the writer, i remember the sister in romance of tiger and rose was also a bad character. I don't know what problem she has with sisters..

In the novel Da Qiao wasn't the bravest and had a gentle nature but she still knew her cousin and never questioned her decisions. Da Qiao, Xiao Qiao and Qiao Qi were all raised by her mother, they wouldn't turn against each other.

They're cousins. The Qiao's current ruler is her uncle and his brother is her father.

I can't help but side eye the writer's decision of making Da Qiao a selfish character(which she wasn't at all in the novel) while making Wei Yan's character a hero...

Her previous assistant is helping her right now but a friend is also with her. Even tho she's not in the best situation right now, i don't think it's as bad as some people made it to be. Her previous makeup artist, stylist and photographer are also still working with her.
It would be better for her to stay away from Yuzheng. And the last thing i want is her joining his agency..

I didn't search further because i didn't want to get too much spoiled before the drama airs. But everything i read happened already so...🥲 the script was leaked so a lot of people read it already that's why there are many spoilers.

I think i was the one who mentioned it. I also didn't want to believe it when i read the script spoilers but since most of the things i read were real...i'm afraid this is also true😭

I think its more on the script than the acting/directing. XQ's character wasn't really this 'cute' and didn't fall for WS easily in the novel. Changing the early setting(deleting the past life theme and having the grandfather alive) effects her character a lot and i'm not sure if the writer handles her character right. Still enjoying the drama tho and i hope they can emphasize on her feelings and thoughts more in the upcoming episodes.
As for Song Zuer, i actually love her acting. I think she has a good understanding of her characters most of the time and doesn't like to overact. None of her characters feel the same either.

I feel like she's killing her husband. She doesn't look concerned at all with his illness

She doesn't act like NN at all.... Maybe you're confused because they're both Han Dynasty dramas

I feel like they will keep most of his storyline like the novel. I don't think he'll harm the Wei family in the end. But what i'm confused is how they're gonna connect it with WS becoming the emperor after unifying the nation. I thought Biazhou was the equivalent of Luoyang but thinking more of it, it seems like the writer connected 4 arcs into one. The Capital, the Chen family, Xuetai and Xiongnu(WY's birth secret) are all in Biazhou😅

I don't think she was portrayed as a timid or obedient girl in the novel. She surely pretended to be one in front of Weishao tho. Tbh she had a complex character in the novel. For her it was mostly survival and her family. Since in her previous life he killed her family and her cousin died tragically after marrying him, she was always cautious around him and was worried about the future. So it was hard to tell when(or if) she fell for him. But after reading for the second time i think i can guess when it happened. It takes a long time for both of them to fully love and accept each other. In the drama they fleshed out her main characteristics more tho and i like it this way too.

Thinking about it his character in the previous life in the novel had many simalirities with Cao Cao😆
