The story is taking place in a time inspired by the Three kingdoms period, where warlords were gaining more and more power and the Han dynasty was in decline. The Qiao sisters also actually existed during that time and they were known for their exceptional beauty.

I think Wei Shao is closer to Sun Ce and Zhou Yu combination than Cao Cao. But maybe he was inspired by all the three of them.

There's no official news yet. If it's gonna air today they'll have to announce it first. If they're really planning to just air it without any announcement then that means tencent is gonna treat this drama worse than TDHR
