There are few parallels between the 2 dramas if you look hard enough- kind of like easter eggs?
For instance in Hidden Love, at one point Sang Yan cockily bragged to his sister that there's a girl who was working hard to seduce him. At the time it sounded like he was lying but based on this week's episodes, we can see that he wasn't lying.
Similarly, throughout HL, Sang Yan kept saying that he didn't like Yihe. Now we know why.
the novel was better and the casting is lacking.. male lead looks awkward
Honestly IMO, the ML so far has been doing a pretty great job considering the imense pressure he probably was under since fans of HL were disappointed that Victor Ma wasn't going to reprise the role.
So far Sang Yan's character change isn't disappointing at least so far.
The FL's portrayal of Yi Fan is interesting too. She gives out a pretty good "shy awkwardness/ melancholy yet hopeful" vibe from at least what I noticed

I guess aside from the fact that Sang Zhi's parents knew DJX during his vulnerable years and wasn't really aware of what was going on with him in the present, the main issue was that DJX's stalker kept harrassing him and nobody really was able to control her? Kind of understandable why they'd be worried since they only know Sang Zhi's sweet pure side and not her fiery protective side?
Agree that they didn't have to drag it for so long though since they knew DJX enough to talk to him at least.

The power of gossip is scary honestly. It's one thing to condemn the drama but i saw so many hateful comments even dragging the team's family members. To curse at somebody just because the internet says so is just ludicrous. 🤦♀️

In Hidden Love, Sang Yan is seen through his sister's eyes so it makes sense why he was goofy and not as 🔥 as DJX. In First Frost we get to see Sang Yan's hidden side/ his pov which is why DJX isn't as 🔥 as in Sang Zhi's pov and we see SY's hidden sensitive side (amongst other things).

The writer unfortunately had to cut out a lot of crucial scenes from ep 12 due to time constraints/ budget restrictions. The Argan chapter should ideally take 1 whole episode for instance since HJ was supposed to be there as a Sign Language teacher for months before she crossed paths with Sa Eon again.
Not sure if the writer was aware of the 12 episode limit when she wrote the script 🙈

Parents could be a possibility. It might be just a coincidence that Azuma got contacted since they seem to be from a similar standing.
I agree with your suggestion that Azuma might be pursuing Ando just for the challange. It's been mentioned several times that men tend to baby Azuma alot so Ando's aloof demeanour (and obvious preference to Mao) might have triggered her?
I don't think the ex is an option for Azuma anymore tbh. She isn't deluded by his weasel behaviour and she's ambitious. They might introduce her a new character may be? So far she hasn't really crossed the line so she isn't really a villain atm (I can't recall now if it was in Ikinari Kon or Igarashi where the SFL had a ONS with a superior's son but if it's from Ikinari Kon perhaps he could be her love interest? I might have confused the 2 dramas though!).

I wasn't really familiar with CSB (the FL) before WTPR to be honest but her character grew on me. I just love how once she overcomes her fears, she's just unstoppable (specially with the kidnapper. She's his worst nightmare)🤭

Did you complete ep 1? Most of your points end up getting cancelled off because of the final twist in ep 1.
If you are referring to the fact that the FL's scenes are too quiet because there's no voice over her signing- this is only applicable for ep 1. From ep 2 onwards, we can hear her "thoughts" amongst other things.

If you are looking for fluff or unserious moments with the MC, just try to hold on for a little bit more may be? The main premise of the drama is that everything stems from miscommunication and lies so the fun you might be looking for will be available from ep 2 onwards.
Ep 1 might feel abit serious since they wanted to set the scene for the audience so we know how cold and soulless their marrital life was like in Heeju's POV before the kidnapper showed up and emphatize with Heeju.
Also if it's any consolation, the general tone switches from thriller too more romcom forward from ep 6 on wards (there is still thriller but it kind of takes a backseat as the MC 's story changes - sorry tried to be spoiler free so this might sound weird!).
About QOT- it may feel like that at firdt but it really isn't like QOT as the story progresses.

It was Netflix who twisted her writing (netflix corrected the subtitles so Paltima is 100% the victim).
The writer should have used different names but I really hope you also do your research properly before sending out cruel curses out at random people.

Sol already knew OG timeline Sunjae's "first love" story and it's influence on him/ Eclipse but didn't know it was about HER.
She didn't want to meddle with his future beyond keeping him alive so she didn't want to steal his "first love" moment from him.
