TBF aside from the overeaction, from XG's side it's fair enough since she doesn't know why Lin would purposely cause a rift between them (logically he should have told her that he did send her a message when she asked about it). As soon as she realized the truth, she stopped what she was doing and tried to cheer him up instead since she knew it must have been so hard for him at the hospital.

⚠️Definitely a spoiler from the novel⚠️ I did read one scene though where after Lin and XG become a couple, they have to go to the Sheng’s for lunch. Seeing how badly his family looks down on him, XG in her usual way did a performance worthy of an Oscar. She basically said that since she is the sole Heir to her father’s fortune/ company, she is sad that she doesn’t have any siblings to “help” her. But fortunately since Lin is so exceptional, once she takes over, she can happily make Lin takeover her company while she enjoys a leisurely life as his house wife. Since it’s clear that Lin and XG are serious about their relationship, Lin’s grandfather immediately makes plans in public to transfer the entirety of his 51% holding of the Suzhou branch to Lin (the 49% is under XG’s dad and will be inherited by XG eventually). To make things sting extra, after the embarrassing way how the Shengs asked veiled questions that clearly show their envy/ disdain towards Lin, XG looks at the grandfather in a way that suggested “I’m sorry that you do not have an excellent heir like Lin to takeover in the future”.
