Yes I think I saw it too. The father is way too gullible. Basically the god daughter only told him part of the story so it sounded as if Lin was the one who was interested in her/ was actively pursuing after her and she gave him a chance to meet up with him on a date. What the father didn't bother to find out is what exactly happened. I loved how GX told him off for being so foolish. The fact that she was straight forward with Lin but not confrontational makes her so likable.

Ngl I can't wait till Thursday now 🙈

Based on the book spoilers I've seen circulating around, I think we are good with the SML (she roasts him when he tries to mock her for lying about her relationship start date with Lin).

I hope that she'll be a good partner with Lin too since right now we see his actions more. Then again, knowing how GX is like with all characters in general, I feel she will be a great partner. Hoping for the best 🙈

It’s basically the modern version of historical Cdramas that send the ML to frontline a war intentionally 🙈

The main problem with him is that he knew from the beginning that :
1. The FL liked him A LOT

2. His neighbor was jealous and was actively trying to come between them. I’m not referring to the sabotaged interview drama but just in general since the FL clearly sent him a text soon after her confession to apologize for coming in between him and Rong.

THIS was his cue to clear the misunderstanding. He didn’t even have to accept her confession at the time since him feeling insecure compared to her corporate heiress status is valid but at the very least he could have told GX that he has nothing going on with Rong.

3. For somebody who claimed to be in love with her, he showed no explicit signs of even being her acquaintance. He’s always ready to accuse her of something or other but is hardly ever there to actually support her.

The answer is a bit of a spoiler so do you really want to know? They will give you clues in most of the episodes so that’s part of the fun. In episode 15 or 16 you will get a major clue on what could have happened. They will reveal the reason in ep 22.

She was being delusional if I'm not mistaken. She claimed that GX complained to her father about her presense at the Gala so the father stopped taking her to events to appease GX's wishes (in reality looks like GX didn't even bother to remember her).

I feel like the real reason why he stopped taking her to events was because of the rumours that may have spread in his inner circle after Lin's accident. Ep 22's preview indicates that the father knew about the date but was under the wrong assumption that Lin was interested in the god daughter and had been asking around about her AND then the god daughter agreed to go out on a date with him before the accident happened. The father seems spineless enough to keep her away from his business circle simply to avoid similar incidents in the future.

As for her friends abandoning her- not surprised really given the circles she's attracted to. The moment they find out she's the mistress's kid, there's no going back😅

Yes that's what I think as well. She's too proud and full of herself to impersonate XG but pretending to be his daughter (pretty much adopted in a way), can be a good loophole for her. She did go to the Gala event as Nie's guest afterall.

Not really sure but this could also explain why Nie didn't take her to future gala events? Since our dear NAIVE Mr Nie figured everybody assumed she was his daughter (but he didn't realize the WHY behind it)?🙈

Even I nearly dropped the drama because it took so long and it made no sense why they spent so much time on GX's college era. Now I guess it kind of makes sense. It kind of gives us an idea what 2011 was like for GX and how what we saw doesn't really mesh with Lyn's 2011 flashbacks.

Still wish if it wasn't sooo long 🙈

I guess it depends on the circumstances and how much you are willing to bet on your future with the other person?

Personally I wouldn't go for it since I'm very passive and non confrontational . So the idea of balancing a new relationship while nursing a broken crush feels too complicated. Guess I haven't really met anyone worth going overboard over?

In Lin's case, in a way it makes sense since he has already lost so much for the sake of his wish to be with XG. Now that he has got a second chance, he isn't willing to lose it. It also helps that XG doesn't seem to be as terrible as he first thought after the way "she" treated him back in 2011/ their initial moments in the office. The only thing I'm curious about is that it's kind of clear that Xu seems to like her back too so how is Lyn so confidant🙈

LYS's mums story is similar to XG and ZX's story- only unlike ZX, Lin's father eventually accepted the mum's continuous confessions. Lin's dad's reasoning was just like ZX's but he wasn't afraid to accept the challenge eventually instead of wollowing in self pity like with ZX.

(I guess it did help in the mum's case that she didn't have her own version of Rong to sabotage their moments)

NGL I laughed when LYS got mad at XG for asking him if his specialty was TCM since I got the same vibe between the 2 MLs 🤣
(The fact that Best Thing's ML was JinMai's costar twice made it even more funny)

Yeah that would make sense- use a loophole. Calling herself XG would have made things complicated since her main objective with Lin was probably to be future Mrs DOCTOR Lin (considering how she conveniently avoided him after the accident).

Confession is basically Planner part A 😉

Actually if we really think about it, Plan A was whatever he was planning back in 2011 (he said "I have a plan" to his friend) 🥲

I think it helps that the ML himself is under the impression that the FL rejected him once years ago so he’s being a bit cautious unlike with most cocky “CEO” MLs?

Then again, the guy is so meticulous, it wouldn’t be surprising if he has a planner stashed somewhere filled with all his dating - marriage plans itemized🤭

Ohhh…I thought the friend misunderstood that she was Nie’s daughter. Didn’t think she would sink that low enough to actually introduce herself to the friend as XG.🤦‍♀️ Or did she pretend to be “his daughter” but didn’t use XG’s name perhaps?

The real challenge comes up if ep 32-36’s express pass is released along with ep 31. MDL will be a nightmare filled with spoilers/ complaints/ praise while us poor Netflix users will have to wait patiently for a few extra days/ fight the temptation to watch it elsewhere🙈
